- We've built a Fuel Injected 500cc 2 Stroke Motocross bike and in this video we are trying to get the beast started for the very first time!
We love a dirt bike build project here on 999lazer, so far on the channel we've created the 700cc Megalodon and the YZ500 YZilla. Our mission for 2023 is to build the most advanced 500cc MX machine in the world; with a fuel injection system, counter balance shaft, power valve and an electric start . To fit in with our monster theme we are calling this bike KONG!
In this episode of the project we are in the workshop with 2 stroke motorcycle expert Roland Shaw to build up the BRC Racing 500 motor, we can then start re-assembling our machine before trying to get the monster two stroke started for the very first time! Enjoy :-)

They are entertaining to watch for sure, look cool, fun to see them stack up between the 3 bikes. Most badass simply not these bikes would be super dysfunctional. They would be years away from most badass at the point they started designing their own frames and started r&d with current top level riders to get all engine angles, engine heights, torque distribution weighted out correctly to balance the bikes in the air vs ground performance, followed by rake / trail vs engine angles for cornering speeds etc, the list goes on and on and testing w changes are even longer. These bikes would not compete with older 500s w/simple updated suspensions on professional level. Fun yes, look cool yes. They should stop comparing them on tracks because at pro levels they are more likely to kill someone, these would really appeal for like sand drags.

I built an 03 yz250f and the last gear on the trans had the hub offset slightly to one side. I put it in wrong and cracked the case. Having built a ktm as well i prefer that lol.
Now to race your 3 monsters
Its a shame you aren't into trail riding/hard enduro. Get a supertrax shock, cones valves and see if you can get graham jarvis or Billy bolt to give it a real rip!

I'd love to see brc do a kit for the new TBI bikes too I'm getting a 24 KTM 300 SX and it would be sweet to make that thing a 500 the tbi is definitely way better imo then tpi will ever will run as good it's just got to much going on and they are way to lean I hope that flash tune/500 kit actually gives the thing some balls all the tpi bikes I have ridden run like garbage and turn the cylinder into junk if you don't let them idle and warm up
Stayed tuned Koy, as BRC have made a TBI kit for this conversion which is the next stage of the build :)
Needs a li-xx maybe 3s hv lipo or reg 4s. Possibly 18v or 24v starting circuit.

Sounds just like a CR500 to me.
I believe it uses a CR500 piston, so it would have a matching bore and stroke, so it would sound similar.

Just curious how much it weighed as a 300 as compared to the 500 kit after it was installed?
It's a shame BRC use cheap diaphragm actuated power valves! But I guess there is a limit to how much people will pay for these kits and they are expensive already. Cool looking bike in black!

Has the 300 cases been modified to accommodate the larger crank and cylinder or are they specifically fabricated cases ? If so the 300 isn't technically being converted to a 500 is it lol
They are custom cases by brc, but use the gearbox, clutch, starter, waterpump,etc from the 300. The kit is a work of art, The video shows you the full build. Thanks for watching.

@@bikebreak4523 Not sure what a used "KTM group" 300 goes for nor the BRC kit because I forget the details but I wanna say this hybrid can cost anywhere from 14k to 20k dollars just depends mostly on a good used donor?....ain't nothing cheap no more but maybe someone busted their 300 engine and the bike goes cheaper. Either way buku bucks for a bit more oomph.
Does Putoline still make the best chainlube ever in the tin that you have to heat up ???

Don't you need to pressurize the fuel tank via a fuel pump for fuel injection? Did I miss that? Or is it just gravity fed??

That's a proper way to kickstart a beast. Choke, top dead center and throw my bodyweight on top of the kicker. Never fails.
Why would you put electric start on it the hole point is to keep it light 5 pounds is tremendous not to mention 15
For the record this isn't the first time a Fuel Injection has been put on a 500cc two stroke.

With a yamaha you wouldn't need to split it in the first place cuz it wouldnt blow up at 50 hours LOL.

Nearly $8K
why building something that is allready on stock by others WAY cheaper. others have even 700cc
