My appliance repair man told me never to use fabric softener full strength. So in my dispenser I use half fabric softener and half water. Usually do this in the cap of fabric softener before I add to dispenser. It has really helped
Thanks for the video. This was helpful after my fabric softener got stuck because the machine won't spin! I was curious to know your opinion on how to take out a broken piece of the lid switch? I forced opened the door and the lid switch broke off (or some piece of it at least) and I heard it fall down the side of the drum on the inside. Already ordered a replacement for the lid switch but I was wondering if it is worth the trouble to take out the piece that fell down inside or if I should leave it inside? I cannot see this washer having the front lid being removed like other washers.
Do you know what that rod is called? So the i saw recently became undone & little pieces of plastic started falling out, so now it doesn't lock on but just sits loose. But can't seem to find what its called to replace the whole stick.
I have pretty much this exact same washer and it's brand new. I was looking for an explanation of how the dispenser actually works. On a cycle just now, the dispenser appeared to have emptied too late in the cycle, because when I opened the lid, there was softener all over the bottom after the cycle finished. What causes the softener to go out of the cup properly?
@@judydavis9095 I'm sorry you're having troubles. This washer is the worst one I think I could have bought. I had my old one for 17 years, and it was much older than that. I'd give anything to have it back. Ive found the best way to use this washer is to set your own water level, also use the gentle cycle for smaller loads especially (it agitates something fierce with small loads on other cycles and will tear up your stuff). I always use "deep rinse" and the normal dispenser with fabric softener (I don't use the cup at all since it relies on centrifugal force - and with an unstable spin, which is often, it will not have the correct force to empty the cup. At least, that's my hypothesis). If you don't select "deep rinse", the machine will pathetically "spray" the load instead of actually rinsing it, and the dispenser will not empty. You could also use the deep fill option but I haven't found that too useful outside of auto fill (which never works correctly). Extra rinse doesn't seem to be very useful - the manual seems to indicate it just adds soaking time. I hope this helps....
It's just that I'm having the exact same problem. It's very disheartening. I'll try some other settings and see if I can get the fabric softener to dispense. If not I'll buy the old fashioned Downey ball dispenser.
If you don't use the cup then how/where do you add the fabric softener? On mine you have to use the deep rinse setting with softener. Very frustrated right now.
Same machine also. Would this blockage also cause the machine not to spin and drain? I share with the people downstairs and they are adding their laundry soap to this area and now our machine isn't draining, can this be from this?
Good demo but it’s very dangerous to put your hands and arms inside a washer when the cycle has started. The agitator can start without warning and your arm can get caught and violently wrap around it. This happened to a childhood friend and her arm was horribly disfigured for life.
Depends on the machine, every washing machine I ever used won't start with the lid open. All of the older style machines won't engage with the lid open, as there is a switch in the hinge of the lid that prevents it from engaging.

Thank you for this. Saved me from calling my dad with a bunch of dumb questions about a simple fix.
I'm happy to help.
Don't use fabric softener it's harmful in the long run
Excellent demonstration ! I really didn't know how it works. Thanks
Glad it helped!
I just want to thank you SO much! I know you saved me a couple hundred $$. I couldn't believe the funk that was in there. God bless you and thank you.
Glad I could help!

Did you ever find an answer to your question, I am having the same problem with a brand new washer.

@@A-RonHubbardI hate to hear that, as I just got my washer delivered today.

@@judydavis9095 Read what i wrote above again, you will see how to work with it. The machine likely has 2 dispensers...you don't need to use both.
Thanks for this video! very helpful

Actually you do use the fabric softener cup but you will just need to clean it out once in a while
I need to replace mine it’s the same as you have
Thanks so much. I will try this.
Please do! You will be very surprised how clogged it is.
I did that and it still doesn't dispense. Any other suggestions?
Ur the best! Graci!
Thank you!! ❤
You're welcome 😊
Thanks Friend, this helped fix the problem.
Glad it helped

Mine goes down farther . How do I clean that ?
you can use the brush and hot water.
