Thank you saved me a ton. I bought the part from Amazon at about half the cost of OEM, the part turned out to OEM, exactly the same even same part no. My machine is an Amana front loader, identical to a Whirlpool.
Thank you for posting this video, I am having same problem went on Amazon found the valve for $40, I’ll let you know if it fixes it Tuesday. Thanks again
Think mine is doing the same thing...noticing it not picking up fabric softener the way it should, might have to try this too...seems based on comments to be a very common issue with this washer.
Thanks so much for this video. We had the exact same issue with our 3 year old Whirlpool. I followed your guidance and now the fabric softener is dispensing fully! I ordered the valve from a reputable parts store: part # W11316256, that (according to Whirlpool) replaces part # W11036930 (the number printed on the valve housing). The part was delivered in a Whirlpool-factory-sealed box with the new part number (...256) printed on the outside of the box. However, the part number on a label on the new valve is the same old number (...930). The old and new valves look identical in every way. Why the change in part number? Just guessing on my part, but perhaps there were issues with some lots of the valve, which resulted in Whirlpool creating a new part number to differentiate the lots. I'm kind of hoping it's something like this because I'd like to think that Whirlpool is doing something to address the early failures of this valve. I also proactively replaced the three hoses (2 cold, 1 hot) that connect the valves to the dispenser unit. Those hoses are labeled with "replace every 5 years". To remove the old hoses more easily, I used a compress of hot damp paper towels to soften the hose ends. I soaked the new hoses in a bucket of hot tap water so that the ends would slip on without a struggle.
My American made washing machine lasted me 42 years problem free. These new ones, made in China break down in months. What a joke...what a waste of money.
Thanks. This was very helpful. I have the W11355369C and it looks exactly the same. I am having the same issue with the fabric softener and bleach. Not sure that I want to tackle it myself yet. It is still under manufacturer warranty. However, I was told that it may be because I have a well. Do you or anyone else that had or have this issue have a well or hard water?
I’m having the same issue as well as intermittent F20 (low water pressure) error. I have gone through everything except replacing the pressure switch or the water valve. I even opened up the water diverter compartment and tested the flow through each sub-compartment. The Whirlpool model I have has both the cold and hot water valves leading to a single entry point into the dispenser. Since the rinses are only done with cold water, I’m guessing the cold water pressure is not high enough to reach the fabric softener compartment. I verified that the water is directed through the right channel to reach it. Did you get any F20 errors?
I changed the water valve and I immediately noticed a huge change in the amount of water flowing into the machine during the wash and rinse cycles. I would guess about double the pressure! Thanks for posting your video. A hundred dollar’s Canadian for the part but totally worth it!
@The G Automotive And the funny thing is when I run the test mode the cold water 1 and 2 valves work fine but when it is time to dispense the fabric softener I hear it loud vibration on top and nothing flowing through the fabric softener dispenser spot.
Totally fixed my problem for $17 part from Amazon and took me 15m to fix. You saved me so much time and money!!! Thank you my man!!!
Well I replaced it, works like a charm… would have never figured this out without your video… thank you for taking time to record this. Subscribed!

Man I owe you one! Totally was able to fix this myself, saved a lot of time and money. 🔥🍻🔥🍻
Thank you for the walk thru - I had a similar issue with my Maytag, changed the water valve (got one from Amazon), and it all is good again!
Glad it helped

Worked for me. Except the hoses did not come out as easily as you showed here. Thanks
THANK YOU!!!

I know. This machine is twice as expensive as my old one and it was the cheapies I could find. Then it did this right out of warranty.
Does this washer hold more than one cup of soap? Because mine can drink a whole bottle? Is it ok to do that?
NO
THANK YOU!

Not that I know of. But that makes sense because the deposits in the water could clog it up. Thanks for watching
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore Thank you and you're welcome as well.
I need more help if you can??? I replaced the part as you showed and the softner is still not draining. Do you know what else it could be.
The dispenser could be bad. Not siphoning. Look at it and see if the tube has cracked.
Thank you, I’ll check it, but I don’t think there are any tubes
I see you mention that you had worked on diagnosis for a bit. Was this a consistent problem, or did it fail to dispense only sometimes?
It would work then it wouldn't. Then I cleaned everything up. Still hit or miss. Then it stopped working. Then this fixed it. Thanks for watching

I had no error codes. But so far this has fixed my washer. Thanks for watching

What do we do if it’s cracked & how do we know??
You should be able to see the cracks and you will have to replace it if is cracked.
VERY good guess, you should make videos on how to repair stuff! 😝 Thanks for the score! Just curious, do you remember how much you paid for the part?
No i do not sorry. Thanks for watching
Mines start doing that and it 4 months old
Mine was only a year old.

My problem is it drops the fab softener at the very beginning of the wash cycle. Could it be the same problem? The valve?
I do not know but it is possible. Thanks for watching
