    Just tried this as a last ditch attempt as all my clothes were coming out firm and the drawer was still full of softener and IT F3CKIN WORKED!!!

    Wow. After listening to your video, I opened the drawer and the top was covered with mold. I had no idea there were inlet jets and that they needed to be cleaned. The instruction manual just said to run a rinse cycle with bleach. You have
    saved me tons of money. Thank you so much. I am definitely a new subscriber.

    After doing as the video described, I still had a problem. Turns out there was a kink in the water inlet pipe, which I noticed when I pulled the machine out. After seeing tis and rectifying, it solved the problem. Clearly not enough water pressure to drive water into the softener section. So consider water supply/pressure as another issue. Thanks for the video, which was also very useful.

      @PrinceOvPersia1 If the machine is stopping mid cycle, then there could be several causes. This link might help: www.checkatrade.com/blog/expert-advice/washing-machine-stops-mid-cycle/

      @@bigtedshome instead of chlorine bleach I would recommend using NaDCC or chlorine tablets. They don't contain the harsh caustic soda used as a stabiliser in chlorine bleach and are just as effective. I've even used them to bleach clothes as it's gentler. Choose one that includes dosage or how many in how much volume of water to get the desired ppm of chlorine. These will be purer and contain less filler.

    I have an LG WM3700 front loader. Even if not using fabric softener at the end of each cycle the fabric softener tray was full of water. What worked was to take the tray out and do a proper clean with vinegar , an old toothbrush and a dental pick. Remove the whole tray and then remove the blue cover for the Bleach dispenser. You'll notice under it the blue "tube" that fits over the fabric softenener tube . Make sure those connections are clean and smooth and that the depression on the fabric softener side is scruptously clean as well. Then when re installing the bleach dispenser lid make sure it is seated down well otherwise there's not enough suction to pull the water out of the tray when it drains

    this is very helpful thank you! for me the fabric softener does drain (i think) but at the end its filled with water. what could be the cause of this? not enough water pressure to allow it to flow out? as i tested it in the sink with the tap and if i dont fill it enough it doesnt drain, but if i fill it fully and quickly it does.

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  7 місяців тому

      It's probably just water that's splashed over during the rinse cycle. It won't drain unless the water level gets higher than the max level marker. At this point, the Pythagorean syphon will start and empty the compartment.

    • @bigtedshome
      @bigtedshome  8 місяців тому

      I wouldn't worry about it Sophia. It's probably just overspill from the rinse cycle.If you want to get rid of it before adding softener for the next cycle, add more water until it is above the maximum level and this should start the syphon and drain the compartment.

  • @PetersonChemistry

    There is a screen at the water inlet. It can get clogged. Usually, it’s the cold water, which the rinse cycle uses. Similar fix, just on back side of machine. Disconnect water supply (unscrews). Pop out screen (screwdriver or needle nose). Rinse, brush clean. Pop back in and reconnect water supply.

    Is it simply a case of cleaning tray and all water jets should solve this??

    • @bigtedshome

      @METHVS02 It's probably water that has splashed over from other compartments. If you want to clear it before adding softener for the next cycle, try topping it up with water until the level is above the maximum mark. This should start the syphon and drain the compartment.

      Try checking if the syphon is working. Fill the softener compartment above the maximum marker. This should start the syphon and the liquid should drain out. If this works, then there is no blockage between the drawer and the drum so the problem is linked to the water supply to the drawer.
