Probably the most reliable bike I ever owned. Did the bol dor twice in the eighties . Got a 900r now 110k still going strong . Build em right to start with and they will keep going. Take note honda !!
Had a nearly new Kawa turbo 750 in '84, no bike Kawasaki for 27 years, March 19 got a 05 Bandit GSF 650 inj., Wow 58, 59 times more biking joy than the turbo. Alas now a HOPEFULLY only semi retired Crazy Mad Banditateer FEKKIN Banditless Banditaholic, ruined for any other bike, and I ain't even lying. yours truly Scott Loch. Na Professor Bandit B.T.E. Torque Enjoyment only, nothing technical. Turbo ? Whenever I Engaged it, it always tried to throw me off the back ?, Hang in, for your life Bandit was Incredible Hot biking wise Remember every Ride ? remember every Twist of the throttle ?, Response was quicker than an Arcade game. Blessed 20, 21 months of Biking JOY. And I'm not even lying.
I drooled over the GPzs in the early 80's but never managed to own one. I managed to get a ZX 10 years later but still lusted after the earlier GPzs. God they were faaaast.
....FAST OR NOT!! BUT THE GPZ 900 NINJA WAS, IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE SEXIEST BIKE FROM THE NINJA SERIES!!...IMMORTALISED BY TOM CRUISE WHEN RIDDEN IN THE MOVIE TOP GUN.😍😍😍
@ampassionstruck9138 You must own one if you're so passionate about it. The turbo is more collectible, I believe. I have a mint 85 turbo. Had it appraised last year. $20,000.00 You can keep your Tom "Maverick" Cruise.
That was quite a bike my God for 1984 !!!! There's a whole lotta bikes and cars that 750 would tear'um new one today in 2022 !!!!....especially with modern rubber !!!
Two up on a gpz 750turbo and doing 100mph on the M4, a 2gear drop with a ford xr3 flashing lights and toting his horn, I think we got to over 150mph in a blink of an eye. Yet another amazing bike from Kawasaki , my all time favourites H1F and the zxr400.
Owned one of these for six years........Every ride was a blast.......sold it and......every bike after...although newer and bigger displacement were all dissappointing .....why did I sell it...?
The ad sounds so dated! I was overawed by this bike when it came out. Never got close to riding one but bought a GSXR 1000 K5 in 2005 instead which, I presume, would blow this bike into the weeds.

I has one back in 1991.
It was the most exciting motorcycle I owned until my turbo bandit and now my ZH2.

TURBO POWAH!!!
Cool intro, I hadn't seen the first 1.5 minutes before. Love the 80's riding gear.
If you owned this bike and didn't know about the 3 little tricks that brought this engine to 170hp at the rear wheel. You missed out.
What were the upgrades you did?
I owned the GPz750 non turbo and put a Bassani 4 into 1 pipe on it. Man, the sound was beautiful.

“It doesn’t seem to have turbo lag, it just seems to get faster and faster and faster”
Thanks for this it was great to watch the old beast!

cos you're a fool my friend!....haha!
I love Rick Brett.
At 8:15 you can see oil burn coming from his exhaust. Yikes!! Apparently some oil getting past the turbo already.
That first spot......awesome.
2:19 to 2:24 is so cool the way that speedo needle climbs effortlessly up to 155mph.
I just bought one today 😁
1979 Z1000 ST was the bike first of the film, advert video was done some apocalyptic style.
Nice find...
a great looking bike that's as fast as needed yet not a torture rack to drive.
Awesome bikes! I will steal my wife's hairdryer and weld it onto my bike ASAP.
The True Successor to the H2 triple...Should have been called the H2 turbo

It's 30 years old, of course it sounds dated. But at the time this was the shit.
Death machine.

Alexa play Turbo Lover
今だったらカワサキが作ってるT-4練習機のブルーインパルスの映像なんか入れるとカッコイイ
I like the ole Rainier Beer/Kawasaki promo's the best ;)
I miss my 1983 GPZ550 the most...and closely the 76 500 Triple
.....ONE QUESTION!! IT HAD A DOHC ENGINE BUT ONLY WITH 2 VALVES PER CYLINDER AND NOT 4!! WHYY!!????.
@Just J thanx for shedding some light.
The top end was used from the KZ650.
That was engine development back then.
Also, it is an air-cooled engine and 5 speed gearbox.
I love mine.
The other Turbo's , ahhh, sucked.
Why's it sound like a jet lol
Because of the Turbo.
Because of the sound dubbing
10.7 secs in 83 , heavy weight production M/C = F %#@)*^&% amazing , I don't think a current house priced supercar can those times .
