レギュレーションが変わったスーパーバイクレース。
カワサキレーシングチームになんとか栄光を残した年になった。
このgpz750での優勝は、後にgpz400のライムグリーンとして日本で発売された。
この時代ホンダのVFRの快進撃で空冷エンジンの時代が終わりを告げることになる中
最後の空冷四発エンジンはこの時代の象徴として、後世に語り継がれて欲しいものだ。

Just bought a 1984 Kawasaki GPZ 1100, super clean all original! Runs strong !!
How much was it? I had a gs1100es 83 new back then, sometimes i think to try find a bike of around those years.
The 70’s and 80’s were so choice I miss them dearly. I miss my friends and making new ones, it wasn’t hard back then, good times.
That's what I call me Kawasaki king of the good old days and we still rule to this day old and new Kawasakis..keep safe all riders of motocyles true him who give us life..Mr wayne Rainey you was my ideal when I was just in to bike then Mr vr46 king Rossi ..

When they changed to the 750 cc it was the beginning of the end for Superbike
So what I am not getting is that the announcer stated that Rainey was 5 points ahead of the honda rider, who then crashed out in leg 1, so why did Rainey, who not only finished leg one but won it, had to finish 3rd or higher in order to win the championship?
I remember seeing the factory Kawasaki GP-750 at Talladega, it looked like an enduro bike it was jacked up so high to keep the cases off the ground in the corners.

The Kawi had the oldest engine; air cooled 2 valve inline 4 vs liquid cooled 4 valve V4, and Suzuki air cooled 4 valve inline 4. The last hurrah of the old KZ650 based motor.
The '83 GPz750 was a fun, fairly lightweight bike for its class. I had the '82 z750GP with basically the same KZ650 engine but in the standard Z twin shock frame. Still a fun bike.
The Kawasaki was air cooled yes, but it was a 4 valve double overhead cam! I had one brand new.
@ neyt comrade. The first 4v head Kwai inline four was the 1984 900R Ninja; I had one.
@@ProjectFairmont Ah yes, you are correct, I'm getting confused with the double overhead cam. My GPZ 750 was air cooled double overhead cam but two valve. I'm getting old my memory is failing me. Two big heart attacks and a stroke will do that. I bought it brand new and loved it! I even had hair back then! 🤣

16" front wheel never worked out. I stopped racing the zx6 with it's 16 had way more fun on a 74 H2..
Just look at the full factory support back then, and then look at the pathetic state of affairs nowadays in American roadracing.
The crowd size says it all, people paid attention then, and the manufacturers sold product.

I HAVE A 82' KAWASAKI GPX 400 (looks like a naked NINJA 600RR. Thats been bored and stroked, ex AMA race bike like you see here! shes so fast i beat 1000cc bikes in Car lengths!..I still have it today. will be restoring it in my channel asap.

So where was Freddy Spencer and his VFR Honda ? He may have crashed hard earlier that year , but I don't remember .
Freddie Spencer was a little too busy winning the 500cc Grand Prix World Championship over in Europe to compete in the AMA that year.

I have an 83 gpz1100 sitting in my garage right now great shape under 15,000 miles. I like to take it out and hear people comment on how they haven't seen one of those in so long. Mine's red with a silver and very dark blue stripe. May think of selling it but you just don't find them in good shape anymore...? Back in 83 I had a gpz750 that was lime green with a white and very dark blue stripe. I was told it was an Eddie Lawson replica? Does anybody know anything about those?
The Eddie Lawson replica was a KZ1000. You would know if it was an Eddie Lawson replica because it says so on the bike.

Look Like a desert race. I have Never seen such a bad race track.
Frank Gutschank Most of Southern California is a desert, the track is good just doesn’t have any grass.
It's still there. My first time on a track. Willow Springs Keith Code racing school. It was a billion degrees that day.

Yes, 1983 was the first season of 750cc AMA superbikes.
Those are both front tire crashes. When you go down that fast, you lots the front end.
16" wheels on the Honda. I seem to remember they raced on 18" or maybe the CB750 which had 18s raced on 16s. I'm getting old.

@@stephenmwyatt2 The racing line should be pretty clean. The tires back though were nothing like today's.
Willow Springs, known as "The Fastest Road In The West", presented a special challenge for tires. Its very high speeds and hot track surface meant harder tires with less grip were typically used for durability. Strong and gusty crosswinds were common, with the occasional airborne tumbleweeds. The circuit wasn't easy for visitors to learn, even top national caliber riders could struggle at Willow Springs.
Interesting factoid: Mike Hailwood raced at WS in the early Sixties.

GPZ750RとGPz750って全然違うバイクが存在するのさ🏍
Love Kawasaki engines always their strong point even in their street bikes. Honda always good at racing, but their street bikes always a touch boring. Rainey was a great rider but was a pretty boring personality just did not have much Charisma.
what does he need to do to meet with your approval: dance a jig for you (though no longer a possibility)...i prefer boring to fake spazzy people like that rossi
