That’s exactly how I would build one of these if I had the talent not over the top just improved , I think there is a growing movement to do this with classic bike and cars these days well the expensive ones anyway good old Aussie engineering and you know your stuff
Cheers for the comment buddy, I know what you mean. I wanted to keep close to the original look of the bike with the update parts, even the intercooler doesn't look to out of place, almost like factory. 👌👍
I had 1 of these but totally original loved the thing it was the best bike I ever had as a big Kwak fan ,what you have done to yours is amazing please keep it as you have its making me so jealous, the one I had I sold to a guy who new everything but ride a motorcycle knob jockey comes to mind he managed to wreck it within a month ,I wanted to damage him for it , A excellent example of the only turbo bike to work properly ❤
Hi. Thank you. I definitely plan on keeping it. Trouble is I love to ride it too. Alot of people regret selling things back in the day but I guess it is what it is, circumstances etc. What year did you have yours? A few would have got wrecked with the wrong rider! It's awesome bike to ride and was fun tinkering with it. 👌
My dad bought 3 of them brand new and still has all 3, although they are all rotting in the back yard. He has clean titles for all of them and we are currently looking for a complete parts bike without a title or even without a bill of sale and we plan on swapping the parts from said parts bike onto ours.
Hi, I’m looking to fix up my dad’s 750 turbo. It’s been sitting for 25 years and most everything is original. I really like what you’ve done to your bike but I don’t have the ability to fab parts on my own and I think it’s more than we are looking to get into at the moment. The only goal is to get it driving at a standard that’s expected for a 40 year old bike. Besides the typical fuel system, tires battery and other typical items, are there things I should look out for? I’ve only done the basics like a carb rebuild. I’m a little worried I won’t hit the full list of items that need to be checked or replaced. Any advice or things to research?
Hi. That's great you're getting the bike going again they are pretty dam cool bike. Lets see, clean the fuel system/filter etc. if the fuel system isn't too bad the injectors should be ok but could do with a clean. change oil/filter, don't need to run anything fancy in it, as long as it is designed for motorcycles is fine, I just run Penright full zinc mineral. Inspect the oil when drained as the clutch dampers do start to full apart. Turbo could need checking, There is a guy that rebuilds these, standard or customised and he knows his stuff. In what location on earth are you? 😁 Probably best to send me an email. dmc12d@yahoo.com
HI. Thanks. I have the turbo supplement and it says oil pressure should be 28-36psi @4000rpm @ 90 decrees c. mine would be lucky to be 10psi!! need to investigate.
She looks sweet mate……. I went looking for a 750 turbo back in 89 but never managed to find one so got a 600R instead….. that was my last bike ….😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
@@Tassietinker490 nah mate….. I’ve got enough things going wrong with my old body….. plus I wouldn’t be able to control myself, cops would have a field day with me on one wheel up Davey street…🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@cosmiccolonel haha I understand. I better enjoy my youth. Hope you are all good? It sure is hard to control yourself. Can't get away with much these days. 😅

Love your work. I recently acquired 2 ZX750Es. One is near immaculate 8250kns on it and will stay untouched apart from minor paint correction/detail, the other is going to be done up and I’ll use yours as a reference. I’m 50 now and wanted one since I was 18. I now own a performance turbo business so seems like it would be rude not to play with one. I’m thinking M130 ecu so timing is controlled. I’d also like a billet plenum with multi port water injection. We do have a 5 axis mill so maybe the dream will become a reality :)
@@ozholiday Cheers. 2 bikes! that's awesome. Yes timing control would be a nice addition/knock sensor, can get some serious power out of one even with stock internals. With all the upgrades you included, this is just a fantastic restoration!
Own two of these, both modified, an 810cc and an 880cc, intercooler, wheels everything, powerfull runner, both big turbo mod..❤👍🏽💯🍻
That's awesome, do you ride them much? they are a cool fun bike.

Nice bike. love the details. Working on getting mine back on the road. These GPZ, really stands out compared to new bikes. Love mine.

3 turbos! That a good selection. You should definitely be working on getting them running. Don't leave em rotting. Have you ridden one before?
Bring her up the coast for a spin sometime!!

best production turbo made I did have three of these but had to sell as I moved abroad😭
3 of them! unreal. So are you going to find another?

Cant wait to ride my 750 turbo. That being said you cant hear the turbo on tick over like yours. Yours sound awsome. 😁
You will enjoy it for sure. depends what exhaust you have the more straight through the more turbo noise, they certainly do have quite a whistle.
Hello. Can i buy a intercooler from you. Looks awesome. How to contact you? I'm from Germany so shipping is needed. Greets Florian

great bike..had one in 84..had Z1R TURBO 1000 CC IN 79..the ninja 750 turbo fixed alot of things on Z1R ..alot less lag & being water cooled
Ta.
That's awsome, I've always wondered what the Z1R T would go like, did they come onto boost hard?
There is a couple in Tassie.
I dont know about you, but id be driving around without the belly fairing all the time to show off the turbo lol
Haha thanks, I know what you mean, I have done it occasionally. Doesn't look quite complete without it!
Need some flyby runs on the Woodstock 1/4 mile test track
Lol. I'll have to get some footage.
Absolutely stunning
Thank you.
Can you remember witch wire you cut on the ECU to put the bike in race mode ?
Hi there. Yep, I disconnected the brown wire at the ECU.
I cann check the factory manual for the oil pressure spec
I also have the turbo supplement
Just ask

need to investigate.
Ck the bypass in the filter bolt
Ck for restrictions in you oil cooler
The lines and cooler for junk inside
Also the bypass attached to the bottom of the oil pan
Inside
It can get gasket or junk stuck in it during "cleaning"
I've had the sump off a couple of times and everything is spotless .@@timtaylor6147
