My Marlon XT 22 is a bull barrel model sitting in a Boyd’s spike camp stock with a Bushnell 3 x 9 x 40 scope. With CCI tactical ammo will shoot a seven shot group. I can cover for the quarter at 40 yards.

My first Marlin model 80 was a pawn shop find in Colorado 1966 for $25.00 bolt action 24 inch barrel It is always spot on, A few years ago I pickd up another model 80 I beleive that it could be from the early 70s as it has a microgroove barrel. I installed a 3x9x40 scope and a bipod with CCI AR 40gr cprn 1200 fps I can get results that match yours Marlin rifles are that good right out of the box.

I’ve never seen anyone else drop the bolt like that other than myself by pulling the trigger while closing it.

Hello comrade you have to shoot the marlin gun good lights out by trying different torque levels known to the men.

I tried them all for CCi SV. Lol. Unfortunately, that synthetic stock can only take so much torque.
Although I didn’t try different torque settings for other ammos.
      Cheers man.

CCI standard is cheap training ammo. My 457 MTR shoots under 0.5 moa at 50 and 100 meters using SK rifle match. The rifle is clamped in a specially made rifle vice, to rule out human error. But I weigh and rim size my competition ammo.

Interesting, yeah, the only reason I don’t use a rifle vice is because it’s not as practical in the field. I can understand it if you do competitions like benchrest where you don’t need as much human input but in a more fluid moving competition like PRS, I need to test while I’m handling the gun. Do you find an impact shift when you man the gun out of the vice?
Interesting thoughts you bring up. I’m a hunter through and through so I need to be able to handle the gun with human errors and just shoot as best as I can practicing to get rid of those errors.
      Cheers man.

Nice rifles! Can you tell me what cheek riser is that on the MTR? I am looking for something similar because I don't want to drill into that part of the stock.

Beartooth’s Comb Raising Kit. It’s tight like crazy, but once it’s on, it’s on.
I was the same as you I did not want to drill a hole through mine.
