I don’t think anyone realises how time consuming acne is
YES. Sometimes, after like 40 minutes of my "acne routine" I start to think of all the things I could do with this time that I spend everyday with acne :( buut, it made me a better more understanding person, that's for sure.

Yes if you're stressed you may have a pimple or two but for people like myself that had severe acne it's hereditary and there isnt much you can do. It's caused by overproduction of oil clogging skin glands and the only thing to stop it is accutane. Stop giving advice you aren't qualified to give.

@@prokristinator6321 yes, I found a face wash that worked for me, the bioderma sebium cleanser. I also went on a vegan diet, that cleared my skin up a lot too.
Yeah, it truly changed me when I went through severe cystic acne for a year and it makes you see things so differently. Also you understand more the struggle of others who are dealing with the same things.

just finished 7 months of accutane after 10 years of severe acne...never realized how easy it is to breathe when you don’t have the severity of acne that i had. you got this girl! best decision of my life!!!
It’s so nice to hear someone WHO ACTUALLY HAVE ACNE speak about acne on UA-cam 👏🏻 when I was first put on accutane I was given 8 times more dosage than what my body can handle and I almost overdosed, so be carful and listen to your body! (:
Oreo 97 omg what mg?! I’m on 60mg; I’m 5’10. I saw a 12 year old be prescribed 120mg. I was shocked! Some Derm’s really don’t care
haaykaytee TL;DR: I’m 22 years old, 156cm, 53kg (5’2, 116lb) I was given 40mg, and the dermatologist told me that after a month of taking this dosage I will take higher dosage. Now I take 5mg.
I took the first pill&after 2 hours my head started hurting so bad, I lost balance, fell on my bed&went to sleep, woke up sweating&shaking. In the morning I had bruises all over my legs (the part under my knees was fully covered in bruises), vision was blurry, had a rush, temper was really high, I was shaking, felt cold, the list goes on&on. I went to a private dermatologist, who was SHOCKED by the dosage I was prescribed. Now I take 5mg a day (after I was first prescribed 40mg a day) and I still suffer from side effects (my vision isn’t back to normal, headache, feeling dizzy, I’m super dry, back and muscles pain, bruises in random places all over my body and some more) but those are stuff I can deal with.
He explained to me that there is a total dosage that each body can handle, and what happened to me was life threatening.
So honestly just listen to your body, clear skin isn’t worth it if it’s on a dead body.
@@oreo9727 omg were you prescribed 40mg twice a day or once? the same thing happened to me I weigh about 100 pounds was prescribed 40 mg a day and got really bad side effects like shortness of breath, dizziness and fainting. How are you doing with 5 mg?
Nada Belafqih 40mg once a day, and now with 5mg I still have some side effects like I wrote but not as bad (:
Oh my gosh! This is madness, I live in the uk which is probably why it’s different, I’m 15 and am on the highest dose which is 40mg a day and so I don’t think anybody under 18 can take anymore than 40. I couldn’t even imagine that poor twelve year old having 3 times as much! That scares me honestly.

I'm on Accutane and what I learned is that having acne (mine is starting to go away) u have so much more self-love cause when my clear skin disappeared I was depressed and self-conscience but I can say that there is light at the end of the tunnel :)

You didn’t have to share this with us but u did and it makes us feel so much better because we always see UA-camrs showing the best parts of there life’s and that there life’s are perfect but in reality there not perfect and we all struggle with things. Waterbaby Oxox the typical starting dose is half of your maximum dose. Your maximum is 1mg per kilo of body weight, so if you weight 60kg for example your maximum is 60mg. If your derm puts you on your maximum to start with take half cause that’s way too much. I’m not even on my maximum dose rn and I’m experiencing pretty bad side effects (severe eczema on hands, eczema patches on my face, stiffness, joint and back pain, shortness of breath, muscle weakness and fatigue). It’s a serious drug. Some people only have dry lips, others have all the side effects under the sun.
Did it get rid of scarring or hyperpigmentation?
I've been on accutane twice now and still struggle with acne but it's so much better! Accutane is a tough process but it's soooo worth it! You're doing great girl💕⭐️

My best friend in high school went on Acutane and it was shocking how much his mental health declined, the medication really changed how he was feeling on the daily. Take care of yourself Summer, both externally and mentally💛
Corrine Michelle although mental health and Roaccutane is written about a lot it is incredibly rare for the drug to have any effect. Just so you know ❤️
tabitha cowell actually, when you have a consultation before going on accutane, the dr lists the side effects which commonly occur, including suicidal thoughts, depression, and the drug can even cause infertility. It’s worth doing the research and being prepared for any and all side effects, and that they aren’t as rare as you may think.
tabitha cowell I was going to start accutane but my doctor told me to wait because I’m mentally struggling right now, and the medication could worsen feeling down and it can really have an impact on your mental health and it’s definitely not rare.
Joy Rebers exactly. People need to know that accutane isn’t something you just “take and it heals your acne”. It’s got serious side effects that people need to be well aware of. I hope you’ve been doing better☺️💛
Corrine Michelle I’m on Roaccutane and have been since December. My Dermatologist said that studies by Harvard show that any depressive symptoms were extremely rare.

i normally don’t comment, but i am also currently on Accutane (month 4) but during my purging stages my doctor told me to cut out ALL acne treatments bc how of how drying they are! & i noticed once i did this my skin cleared up faster (??) & also felt much more comfortable !!! xx

summer!! i stopped wearing makeup with my acne because it was pissing me off and making the texture look so much worse. since then my acne has cleared for the most part (for various reasons not just no makeup haha) but i have hyperpigmentation and i honestly was so self-conscious at first not wearing makeup out but i'm so used to it now and it's honestly so liberating. plus your skin just gets to breathe so well. i know you probably HATE hearing things like this but if you feel confident enough to go out without makeup do it!!!!! you're beautiful regardless!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

heyyyy my doctor told me not to use proteinbars, shakes or anything with whey protein on accutane!!! it makes ur acne worse
What if it's like vegan protein?
@Melissa Guerrero yeah, i know that vegan = not animal products hehe but I mean it's protein in general in shakes, proteinbars etc that makes acne worse or it's only protein from dairy

My dermo recommended Cera Ve to me while on accutane too lol I still use it cause I liked it so much. Acutane made me so dry...especially my lips. It was a awful process but gave me such clear skin! It’s literally miracle stuff. My acne is gone and I feel confident in no makeup! It’s incredible

A N I’ve been off of it for 6 months. It look me from February to July to finish mine. I had systic acne and
it was gone after that term. I didn’t have to get another term thankfully. I’ve only gotten two zits since and they went away within days. If you ever do have acne come back you can always do another term which is the awesome part.

My skin started really clearing up when I stopped wearing foundation and took days off from make-up. I know it's hard, but your skin really does need to breathe and the scars will heal a lot quicker. It gets easier the more you do it and it's so nice to not be dependent on it.
This is good advice for some people but it didn’t really work for me and I went make-up free for a year

SPF in moisturizer isn't enough (especially on accutane) because the amount you would have to put on your skin to really have the SPF work fully is way more than you put on. Using a normal sucscreen works so much better

@@ayt6551 I used to break out from sunscreen all the time whst helped me was to make sure that i take my time to fully wash my sunscreen off (first a oil cleanser, then a gel one), and I put moisturizer before sunscreen, that way it doesn't clog my pores. Maybe go for a matte/oil free SPF that's also lightweight. I like the Krave Beauty beet the sun or the Purito centella green
