Yay ! Glad you made It through with less severe side effects of this drug, even though I know they can still be a pain! Your skin looks so beautiful😍 I have been off my 40 mg for three months and have not experienced any break outs since and my body (joints, dryness, eczema) & mood seem to be completely back to normal as well. I am using topical tretinoin that my doctor gave me while I was waiting on the initial ipledge, blood & pregnancy tests because I am honestly a little paranoid about breaking out again because of the hormonal component😅 but so far so good. I know everyone has a different experience with this drug but I am willing to bet you will be healthy and the side effects will subside once you are completely off and your body has had time to detox the medication 🌹 hurray for being done!
yasss!! so happy you had manageable symptoms!!! we are very lucky though as I know that is not the case for everyone. just uploaded a post accutane vid and will be doing an updated skin routine as well in which i use retinol to help keep my acne at bay! twinsies!

Yeah you can. I use cerave lotion during day it’s lighter weight and then cerave in the tub at night it’s heavier
I also like the ordinary rose hip oil on my face

On accutane you may even want to moisturized throughout the day depending on how dry you are
hi! i have SEVERE cystic acne on my cheeks, jaw, and chin, but absolutely NOTHING on my forehead (thank the gods)- but i was just wondering if you know if i go on accutane, will that make my forehead breakout even though my forehead is clear before i start? pleeeease respond girl, i know you’re busy and alllaaattt but i’m desperate for a solution. ❤️❤️❤️
Hi !!! It might break out at the beginning but usually the purging is for acne already under the skin . If you don’t get acne on your forehead you most likely won’t break out in that area. However I would ask your doctor . Accutane was a life saver for me

In one month of isotretinoin therapy I developed wrinkles. I'm alredy dishydratated by a psichiatric cure with litium. Today I've interrupted iso because I was worried by the wrinkles. Will my skin be oily again? After I didn't want that but now I realize I was lucky! Oily skins have less wrinkles. Please give me this answer: I'd like to understand If my glands have get smaller forever in one month therapy. I know you aren't a doctor but try to help me please...thank u
Hi ! Yes I am not a doctor hehe so your dermatologist is the one to ask . While I was on iso my skin was very dehydrated and very red which made the wrinkles more pronounced . When I stopped some of those oils came back , and the wrinkles went away . However this is just my experience . Now about 2 years after my skin is still clear with the odd pimple and the oils are still there just not as much as before .

Try Purrito SPF, they have one that’s fragrance free, paraben free. Super effective and also hydrating. And it’s cheap! Also if you want a good toner fragrance free try Klairs unscented toner. Check out Korean skincare, they are really advanced and provide good products that are gentle for the skin

but does it leave a white cast?
I start in a couple of weeks, but i have a skincare routine that really dries out my skin, but im really scared that if i change my routine my acne Will get a lot worse, what are your tips on this ? Do i change it or can i still use my routine and moisturise really well? (I use 10% bezonyls peroxide)
While on accutane youre not allowed to use benzoyl peroxide so you’ll be fine ! And you will end up changing your products because your skin will be so dry that you’ll need to !
You won’t want to use any actives that are drying or sting etc. no exfoliants are gonna be necessary. Keep it gentle and basic and just trust your doctor

윤사비ᄋ they just upped my does to 60mg this past Monday. I’m doing great! I see a small difference in my acne so far which is normal. Hands and lips are the most dry. I drink tons of water or I try to so the side effects aren’t as bad. headaches are normal I get them here and there but literally just lay down and it goes away so nothing crazy.

윤사비ᄋ sorry Im a month late! But I use cetaphil cleanser, cerave moisturizing cream not lotion! And aquaphor for the cracks on my lips! My side effects stayed the same as last month I just get nose bleeds frequently
I'm taking it next month and I'm scared of the side effects so muchh.
Honestly take it day by day and be in constant contact with your doctor if you have any questions . I used to call mine all the time hahah

I tried to not use any, and when I did I used clinique because their stuff is made without harsh ingredients for sensitive skin xx
LANOLIN is NOT bad. I have no idea why the products you’re using say lanolin free. I use pure lanolin cream on my lips while on accutane and it CURES DRY LIPS. It is primarily used as ‘nipple cream’ for breast feeding mothers. However it is 100% safe even for infant consumption. Haven’t had dry lips while using pure lanolin cream.

I've been accutane for 3months and they gave me kind of gels and didn't work out for me and still don't know what to use?

Yes a bit dry for 1/2 months now it less dry but still looking same as before

Just be aware, that if your sunscreen could last you all 7 months, you might be using a too small amount. It's big, but not 7 months-big.
Sunscreen needs to be used in a certain amount to get the full protection (besides wearing a hat/clothes that cover etc of course)

So important! Latherrrr on accutane you will blister burn in 15 min of direct sun it’s scary. And it’ll make your scarring worse

Ah ok yes there’s two kinds : regular and extra dry . The regular has fragrance . The one you bought doesn’t ! I would return it I’m so sorry it did that to you !
Update: I don’t think it’s the product because it feels fine on the rest of my face. even cerave moisturizer burns around my nose. 🙄
Somme Khan The only moisturizer that didn’t burn when I was on accutane was Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, the one in the tub that says “body, very dry, sensitive skin”. It also helped my dryness more than all the others I tried. I loved Cerave prior, but it stung/burned. Many people recommend First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair, but that also burned. Good luck to you!
Btw lanolin is good for the lips but the reason most products don’t have it is because it isn’t vegan cuz lanolin comes from sheep skin or sum

Hmmm what is the debate on lanolin ? Some say stay clear some say it’s fine ? I have no idea but from what I looked at it doesn’t have any negative effects unless you’re ingesting it by the spoonfuls
waitt, doesn't all CeraVe products have acids in the ingredients?? bc you cant use products with acids while u r on accutane
No they do not only certain products. My derm recommended me these things and I used them and they’re great . I think you’re thinking of the salicylic acid face wash , definitely don’t use that !!!! And yes you’re right no acids on accutane !

Yesss ! For almost a month or more !
The permanent damage from this medication can happen after it is discontinued even without side effects or any warnings/abnormal blood results when you are taking it. Just be warned, this drug could seriously ruin your body (eyes, bones, joints, hair, teeth, spine, skin, brain, nerves, tendons, ligaments) for the rest of your life. This happened to me despite normal/mild side effects while taking the drug. The damage suddenly set in about 5 months after I stopped taking it. This happens due to permanent gene expression changes, DNA damage, stem cell death, and bodywide apoptosis (cell death) that the drug causes. I took only 20mg (a 'low' dose) for 5 months and still got destroyed months after I stopped taking it. I hope you end up being ok!
Hey Shelly yes you are absolutely right there are a whole list of things that can happen. Are you ok what are you dealing with right now? I have to monitor my body very closely for the next year for reasons you stated above!
@@JessicaDiana yes, and the deterioration of the body can also sometimes happen years down the line, as what happens with other forms of chemotherapy. Accelerated aging and age-related diseases from exposure to this drug are not uncommon. Good luck
