I have had a Zuvi for a couple years now and I wish I had a code when I bought it, as it is a great investment. My fine hair can be dried in 8 minutes! I love it. I lived in Newport in my teens to 30 but live in norCal now. I really wish we could move back to OC. I didn't appreciate it when I was younger (mainly because of politics) but now that I am wiser I see how great it can be down there. I think you would love the Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna too.
Aunts and uncles are the best! This was like Elizabeth in Pride & Prejudice joining her aunt and uncle in touring the countryside.
Yes. I love all my aunts and uncles. That's how I feel when I'm with them. 😍
I literally was thinking this! ❤
I just read the book , The Relentless Elimination of Hurry. You need to read it. I, too, was constantly rushing. This book helped .
What a nice respite! My last child has been on her own for a year now. After homeschooling and running our household for 24 years, I have had the hardest time adjusting to life. I loved every minute of having my children home with me these many years, but I would daydream about all the things I could get done in a day without my children to school and care for. Now that I “have all the time in the world,” I’m finding I can’t keep up with the housework! I’m too busy running after hobbies and outside interests.🤦🏽♀ I am running myself ragged. However, I am making great strides toward self care and more balance. I’ve always known that a strict schedule is needed for me, or I would just fly away. I kept to a rigid schedule in order to keep up with the schooling, and housework, and cooking and baking. I feel the need to schedule my activities again. It has been a strange journey!😆
Productivity is such an interesting word. I'm sure a hampster in a wheel feels productive, but in reality he's going nowhere. At the same time, lack of motion can seem unproductive, but a moment of rest, prayer, or soaking in the moment can be the most productive time of our day. Definitely learning that life is so much more important than a checklist.
Beautifully expressed... thank you! 🌺
Jennifer, thanks for keeping it real with us while talking about rest! I believe rest looks different for us all, depending on what life looks for each person. I can’t believe the audacity in some of the comments but I guess that’s life on the internet. Rest for me as a college student is rare, after an exhausting semester, now I’m spending the weekend rejuvenating my home for the summer. I’ve got some deep cleaning to do. I’m a nursing student and in order to have a healthy body and mind I’m going to need to have more intentional rest for the next two years. I’ll find time for rest here and there throughout the day. Thanks for the inspiration as always!
Dear Jennifer...what a beautiful video and a breathtaking place! Oh my goodness, as someone who overworked and is now in a season of more balance, I am wishing for you more downtimes when you can be completely away from all work. I am sending you this wish for more and more personal time available to recharge in a state of freedom, while still engaging in this rewarding work you love, and which so many of us enjoy. Grateful for you, and wishing you joy! -Liz
Thank you so much!
Good for you for claiming some time and rest for yourself. As much as we adore taking care of our families, homes and other duties we all need a mental and physical reset sometimes.
I love the theme of rest in your videos.i need it so much. After losing my baby sister and favorite aunt to cancer one month apart, i feel drained all the time..i loved the views from Pelican Hill and i love that you spend time with your aunt and uncle. Treasure these times. xoxo Stacie
It is heart-wrenching to lose people we love so close to one another. My condolences to you and your family.
I'm so sorry for your losses ♥
I'm so sorry for your loss - sending kind thoughts and prayers your way.
I too had similar losses. What I found has helped tremendously are the exercises geared for C-PTDS (continuous post traumatic trauma distress syndrome) It's truly wonderful. Blessings to you in your healing from such loss.
I love looking at hotel and restaurant menus too..even "reading" cookbooks. Your grilled salmon meal inspired me.
Pelican Hill is a beautiful resort. Hope you had a nice rest. We used to live down the coast, when we lived in CA. Its so pricey, could never afford a stay; with rooms starting around 1,200 or more a night.
What a wonderful Aunt and Uncle you have and the place is so beautiful!
Jennifer, thanks for sharing this beautiful place. I just returned from a few days away at the spa for my birthday. I feel refreshed and rejuvenated after focusing on myself. One thing I loved was room service breakfast…they brought me a tray with fresh flowers, french press coffee, OJ and the fruit plate and oatmeal I ordered. I want to incorporate this in my daily life more by making myself a healthy breakfast on a tray with fresh flowers, at least a few mornings. Can anyone else suggest ways to bring that vacation feeling into our daily lives? I crave it!
That sounds like a wonderful birthday celebration! May I ask which spa?
A rose scented face mask, a slow paced walk noticing the surroundings. A place away from the house to sit and read or watch or.....About once a month I take inventory of what is taking away from my calm, peace and patience around our home, write it down and work on corrections. Sometimes it just takes a moment, sometimes not...so worth the serenity it brings to the home.
Psalms 23 has you rest first then labor. It's when you rest you have learned to trust. That trust in the Shepherd brings restoration, then labor comes but you do not worry, fear, overwhelmingly pack to much in because you have learned to trust first.
Yes🩵
What a lovely and peaceful getaway. The views are beautiful. We recently spent a few days at Newport, Oregon. I love having a cup of tea while looking out at the water.
Newport sounds nice. Did you find a nice hotel there? I’m thinking of a visit to the Oregon coast, and could use some tips on lodging.
@@LilyB-vz8lq We use a timeshare at The Embarcadero. I believe they also have hotel rooms. It's on the bay, so it's a great location!
@iriswelch3553
Thank you so much for sharing this, Iris. I just looked it up... very beautiful place! Bookmarking it for a possible future vacation. I appreciate your help! 🤗 🌺
I needed a dose of this! So peaceful and lovely. I love your uncles blooper at the end. Was hoping you’d introduce us to them😊
Oh my Pelican Hill!!! One of my favorite places to have a glass of bubbly while looking out over the pool to the ocean. I’ve been there many a times, now I need to figure out how to stay overnight! ❤ Lovely video Jennifer.
I can certainly understand your need to rest and reset. I am feeling the need also. Thanks for sharing.
So happy you had this time of contemplation and refreshment. Journaling thoughts, dreams, goals, etc is therapeutic, I agree. Pray your return to your loved ones is of welcoming and joy. That they see how refreshed you are to be of service to them. Thanks for sharing. ❤
I felt relaxed as soon as I saw the thumbnail, such a peaceful place.
What a beautiful place! Sometimes short trips are enough, they are like a much needed nap.
I find they're stressful for me! Maybe if I was traveling alone and not to family though.
My son was listening to your voice in this video as he ate breakfast this morning and his eyebrows shot through his hairline at your description of breakfast. 😂 Now he wants all that delicious food!! Loved your uncle popping up at the end. 😂😂😂
Thanks for taking us along! Just lovely! The blooper at the end was the best!❤
You always seem so calm and relaxed so it’s surprising to hear you talking about rushing around …but I realize YT is only portraying snippets of life. Glad you had a beautiful time with your Uncle and Aunt ❤
Such a lovely, peaceful place, and I adore your funny, generous uncle!
He keeps us laughing!
Commenting before I start watching. Just loving these vlogs, so relaxing and informative. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! I appreciate it ♥
So calming and beautiful and the clothes look so comfortable and easy. I need one of those cashmere sweaters. ❤
You're always a pleasure, and very gracious. Pelican Hill is such a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing your time with us. The food looked TOO good🙄.
I hope that you'll continue to take good care of yourself, Jennifer.
That Anthropology dress is VERY PRETTY ON YOU. I think it's going to become one of your absolute favourites. It looks like it can be easily dressed up or dressed down --- and it is lovely with your hair and skin coloring --- perfect length on you.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and struggles. As a mother of four adult children, you are in Avery busy season of your life. Even a day and a night help to reset. Glad you get to do so in such a beautiful setting.
Last night I had a fervent dream where I was speedily cleaning my brother's apartment. It mimicked real life! I was hyped up.
So random!
Cute! Loved the end with the uncle 😂
Jennifer I love your reflective videos, and the narration. It's so well done, you have alot to be proud of! I can relate to the rushing... often so that finally I stop and do a "coloring page" which feels SO unproductive (a Pusheen coloring book) lol but I'm reminded that rest time is not wasted time, it's time to gather new strength and energy to continue again. So nice of your aunt and uncle to treat you!
That sounds relaxing!
I got my Zuvi for Christmas & have really been enjoying it. The different attachments are very helpful too.
What a lovely place--and what a wonderful way to spend time with your aunt and uncle. I adore the atmosphere, and even more than that, what a treasure your relationship with them is, and they with you!
Good morning Lady Jennifer. Rest refresh rejuvenate & enjoy your well deserved #RESET💕
Your uncle😂❤
I love watching Pelican Hill - I hope to visit it one day - thank you for sharing AND, so glad you found time for yourself
I collect vintage menus, so interesting to read.
Resort at Pelican Hill is beautiful👌
Fed up with my never ending To Do List, I asked myself what do I really need to do.
I came up with Eat, sleep, basic hygiene, get dressed, work to get money for housing and food.
The birds and animals don't have To Do lists and they all manage to survive.
How and why have we managed to make our lives so complicated?
I purchased a Zuvi almost two years ago. Love my halo!
Biofield tuning forks feel like a restful relaxing relocation. Detoxing all of the tiny ppm in the beautiful
Scenic vista help too. Thank you for sharing your vacation. Long t watcher and reader of tut les livers.
Your uncle at the end made me laugh sooo much! 🤣🤣🥰. Thank you for a lovely video, yet again. Even though you are always super busy making these videos they always leave me so calm and uplifted. Thank you for all you do. 🙏🏻❤️
i'm saving this for later today! when i need a reset! i love your content jennifer
I hope you enjoy it!
@@TheDailyConnoisseuromg, it looks like a true Happy Place. it sounds like the perfect setting for a novel you will (🤞someday!) write!🤍🤍
Have you been to The Mission Inn in Downtown Riverside? I think you would love it!
The views are so beautiful 🙂
What a beautiful video and so important to share with us about taking care of ourselves. ❤
I’m almost done reading Gift From the Sea, by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. Have you read it? I appreciate its contemplativeness and brevity. It’s an enjoyable read that provides rich insight into the seasons of a woman’s life on which to ponder and reflect. It strikes me as one you’d appreciate. 💛
Several people have mentioned this to me. I need to read it! Thank you!
Your uncle made you coffee. That is so sweet!! I need to check out those books! Thank you! Lovely video:)
Jennifer hi, For some reason I've watched this video several times already. It's so beautiful and holistic or healing, or something. I really do hope this time out helps u with your burn out struggles. How long have you had this for?? I don't know much about burn out but I've struggled over the years with chronic fatigue syndrome.
I do know from my own experiences all these things u r d oi g will help greatly. Take care, Beverley. ❤
Wath a beautiful view thank you
This was so soothing. Thank you!
I am so happy for you! ❤ It looks so beautiful and peaceful!
Excited to watch with my meal to break my fast later today ❤
Hello Jennifer, Pelican Hill seems like a wonderful resort. I’m an introvert and I need several hours of alone time every day. I’m curious, would you feel comfortable to go to Pelican Hill by yourself?
I LOVE THIS VIDEO! love going on travels with you. also the shopping one with your girls:)
In this video I really felt the peace and relaxation of your trip. The rest quotes are so memorable. I'm off to write them in my commonplace book1
Loved the blooper at the end 😂
The Zuve drier is amazing. So glad I got one.
Yes, it's great!
God wants us to cease from regular work Friday sundown to Saturday sundown💕🥰💕🙏🏻💕
I am always inspired by your videos. I know you have promoted Blueland in the past. I cannot find a video with a discount code.
You are so lovely, Jennifer. 💛
Thank you!
🥰
Ohhhh. To have money.
This video had me at the thumbnail. Beautiful. Do your aunt and uncle have an affiliation with the resort or just a place you all enjoy frequenting? 😊
Thank you! We just like to go. No affiliation... ✨
Do your Aunt and Uncle own or manage Pelican Hill? I sold that hotel when i was a tavel arranger❤
No, we just like vacationing there...
Can you write the name of the 2 books you are reading down for us? The sound so helpful. I think many of us can relate.
She actually has them listed in the description box. 😊
I linked them above... ♥
It's ironic that you describe the green peasant dress as reagal. I've noticed your perceptions are quite different from mine. What you might describe as elegant also, I might see as a night gown or underclothing that my great-grandmother would wear. She grew up in a small village in eastern European. And yes, night qowns can be elegant, but she certainly wouldn't wear it into town. Our differences in perception is not a bad thing, just different and often it gives me the giggles.
I’m 70 and I think the same thing. I can only say that 70 gets here fast. I would advise to enjoy your youthful figure during this time. The cardigans can wait but that is only my opinion. Your feminine energy with all that goes with it will also keep your marriage vibrant and exciting!
I think it is more cottage core than regal. But I can see how one could describe it as regal.
Your Uncle 😅
😅
This looks like a lovely spot, Jennifer. I'm just a bit sorry for you that you would consider this "resting". You were only away for one night, but you still made a sponsored video and did other work besides. And then you had to hurry home to your other responsibilities. My wish for you is that you could take an actual vacation, where you don't film anything and leave your laptop at home.
Yes, she wasn't free from all of her pressures. Not much of a break. 😢
Dearest Jennifer. The need for rest is very true but maybe your plate is just too full❤
I would say that's accurate
@@TheDailyConnoisseur your career is doing so well and I just love your articles in Victoria. They are so well written. Maybe instead of delegating, maybe it’s time to let somethings go. I’m 58 now. I’ve lived a very busy life and at this age, I feel the effects of that life. I’ve left it behind and now enjoy a very slow meaningful life. I wouldn’t change it for anything💕 praying for you as you consider🙏
@@karendavidson763what did you "let go" ?
(Melanie here) My daughter read this book and really likes it - The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry: How to Stay Emotionally Healthy and Spiritually Alive in the Chaos of the Modern World by John Mark Comer.
This book changed my life! Hope Jennifer reads it. John Mark is amazing!!
Zuvi is not realy affordable as a nurse ..
Then I'm guessing if you can't then I most definitely can't at $19 an hour!😂 But I'm happy for those that can afford it😊
Dinner, you started off with a corpse. The cut up body parts of an innocent, loving, sentient being who didn't want and didn't need to die. For your main course you choose another murdered being. Might want to look at your actions to see if they harm anyone. Murdering others is completely unnecessary, since every nutrient we need is found in plants. And you don't have to miss out on any of your favorite foods, since everything we love to eat exists in a vegan/cruelty-free version. ❤
Everyone has their own dietary needs and preferences. Best to stay in our own lane on that topic. No amount of shaming and guilt-tripping will end the long tradition of enjoying dietary meats, which do provide nutrients that are not found in plants.
