A great country artist. Really good song. Even though I'm a Canadian, my maternal ancestors came through Ellis Island in the early 1900s.
My maternal, great grandparents were married in New York City, in 1900, after they emigrated from Czechoslovakia that same year. They were there for a little while, before moving to Canada.
My maternal grandfather came through Ellis Island from Poland, in 1914. He lived and worked in Chicago, before moving to Canada, where he had siblings who came there before he did.
I also have maternal relatives in different parts of the United States.
