For the doll and Pakal, both triggers occur at the same time, when you attack. You can then order the triggers (adjust settings in MTGA if you don't have the ability to manually order triggers) so that Pakal's ability is on the stack last so that its ability triggers before the doll. Pakals ability resolves (because it is higher on the stack) and then the doll's ability resolves. The doll's ability checks the number of creatures on resolution, so it will see all of new Gnomes that were created and deal damage based on your new total of creatures with power 2 or less. Notably, Pakal will soon not count towards the total of creatures the doll recognizes for this same reason.
Here's a relevant ruling that applies to Impending, from Devastating Mastery: Ruling 1 - Apr 4, 2021 The mana value of a spell on the stack is determined by its mana cost, not any alternative costs you used to pay for it.
Impending does enter for the cmc in the top right. Rooms also cast with a combined value of both the sides. So i believe every room will trigger up the beanstalk.
I wanna see how Abhorrent Oculus work as an addition to the Azorious Mentor/Djinn deck and maybe even turn it into an esper version with the addition of Cynical Loner, Unstoppable Slasher, Commune with Evil and even new Nashi
Do we think we can blink the overlords into play with something like Salvation Swan or Werefox and they’ll come in as their non-impending form? Hoping someone will try that out tomorrow. Like a control overlord deck or something
They are considered enchantment creatures, so I’d give a salvation swan / Werefox blink a shot on the Overlords (ones with flying won’t work with the Swan)
Enduring vitality goes right into my vraska talent deck thay uses goldvein hydras where i can use my freeboots for bigger hydras early..hers what I'm thinking tho...mono green maybe..use enduring/innkeeper to play goldvein hydra...use gold vein treasures to make a bunch of 1/1 with those green sorceress and play everything ever lol

Love your takes Mike. So I made 3 decks that feature many of the cards here...all variants on Calix. If you have the time and bandwidth, I'd love your feedback on them
Thanks!!!! Probably cannot get to it right now since am tied up tomorrow and need to make my Early Access decks, but feel free to send them to email in profile and I’ll try to take a look in future :)
The art was the first thing I noticed when they started releasing previews. There are maybe three card tops that has semi-decent art, the rest is really bad.
face down creatures are too pushed so it will be deck for them, too many cards from old sets support this new deck, that dude tha give face down cards haste or that creature that give choice make face down creature or put +1+1 on all colorless(Vannifar and Yarus). 3/3 that makling 2/2 on attack is insane. Alos stupid mill control with Doomsday Excruciator, turn 2 mill 4 yourself, turn 3 jace turn 4 reanimate excruciator you have 6 cards - minus 5 jace you lost
I don’t think detective set face down will be good outside of a couple cards. But some good Manifest Dread cards for sure. I do think it was largely meant for limited though. We’ll see! :)
@@MythicMichael i think cards like hide in plain sight get new life for sure, hauntwood shrieker ability to turn face up any card for 2 mana is too good to miss. Whole reason that black get that 2 mana anti ward enchant is that they tested it and find out direct removal have no chance against face down army (look at tunnel tipster for example)
I have a sick Insidious Roots build using the new survivor creatures. Don’t you worry! I literally built 40 decks, so we’ll see if I play it in Early Access or later, but it’ll come out soon regardless :)))
Impending dudes are a great way to trigger Up the Beanstalk. The alternate casting cost doesn't change the mana value of the card -- nice find
I guess that means it dodges Temporary Lockdown as well then, nice!
Nice!! Well we bout to BREAK DAT! :)
Pretty sure like everyone involved in MTG noticed that immediately lol. Even the prof made a vid about that like a week or so ago
I mean the cards just came out haha. But yes multiple people will notice the same things for sure! :)
Works in the 3 color version with Glarb as well :)

Awesome! Thanks! :)))
For the Overlord, you can also remove the counters fast with Glissa Sunslayer and get the 5/5 a little earlier.
Also Valgavoth + Obliterator = GGs
True! And check out Render Inert which removes 5 counters :)))

what crazy is zoraline can reanimate all those white enchantment everytime she attacks
Definitely bringing back bangers with the bat!!! :)
I don’t think I have seen this many broken cards in a set. Definitely gonna shake up every format
Imagine 10 years from now, even 5...
For sure! :)
First set I've been legitimately excited for in a long time.
Not a judge, but Overlord into beanstalk looks like a legit trigger.
@@jingai200 I'm thinking overlord into street wraith in manaless dredge lol
:)))))))). So pumped! Let’s COOK!!!

Sounds NICE! :)))
With enchantments synergy being part of the the new set. Do you thibk Dead Weight will be your one mana removal?
I think it’s close. But probably too slow and easy to blow out, but worth testing! The new -3/-3 enchantment that is flash speed for sure though!
The mana value of a card never changes btw. The top right is set in stone lol. An X is the only variable in a cards mama value.

Personally, I'm interested in the Unwanted Remake card.
Hard pass for me haha. Killing something and giving them a 2/2, mill, and a flip up seems ROUGH. But we’ll see!

Sheltered by ghosts in a calix deck? Absolute menace. I had to read this card several times to find a catch but it seems there isn't any.
Just the same catch on any aura that they can blow you out by killing the creature :)
@@MythicMichael Sure but the card itself. Maybe even that 2/4 aura mythic from eldraine will see some play.
Agreed! As well as potentially that 4/4 flyer that buffs creatures with auras, or lord litter enchantment. Auras are back!
Black and white, big winners this release
Got some Orzhov BANGERS for sure :)))
LETS GOO! cant wait for the new decks boss
:)))
No lie, Overlord of the Balemurk was the card I had at the front of my mind for this set. Great minds, amirite? 😂😂😂
For sure! It’s a BANGER :))))
Atrack triggers can be ordered.
My only concern in Anim says put a counter on it “THEN” make creatures equal to counters.

Beanstalk is eating good this set dude. Most broken card in standard mark my words.
Woot woot!
And its creature based mill that can self recurr
I think it cannot get itself back, but still insane that it is creature based mill (will be a creature in graveyard)!
