If Boris has tought me one thing, literally anything can be a food, or a salad, as long as you add egg and or mayonaise. And he is correct.
boiled egg with mayonaise was actually a fine dining restaurant dish in USSR. I'm not joking
*taught.
@@clonetrooper71 He has also taught me that a lot depends on the mayonnaise.
disappointed that yall still call mayonez "mayonnaise"
And I learnt how to cook with a brick and Kalashnikov, As long as there's rounds to spare you can cook at any home
Apart from all this, one more thing is needed to have a blessed Christmas: a Christmas video from Boris. And now we have it.
Přesně tak, Borisovo video zlepší každé Vánoce :D

Hearing Boris just speak Russian is a tad surreal, but I love it and wouldn't mind more of it.
Yes, moar plz!
Spoiler alert! His Russian is not native, so it sounds pretty surreal for everybody !Spoiler alert
@@31pas0 Это не спойлер. Сам Борис сказал, что он плохо говорит на нескольких языках из-за того, что его семья часто переехала когда он был маленьким. (Поправка: грамматика)

Just made this. Happened to be Irish, a smitch drunk and have a lot of leftover crabsticks and polish mayonnaise, so, what the fuck, eh? It's really really good. Can't help thinking that it would go well with a little avocado, sort of like a Russian twist on california rolls.
[Edit: tested proposed advanced crab salad delivery system by piling it on top of a half avocado and delivering to mouth. Can confirm, is very good. Even sober.]
Fuck I want one of those fake ass California rolls rn lol
Holy shit
If you are not smashed out of yer head while making a salad like this, you are clearly doing something wrong. Btw, even better with a few pinches of pepper. Might be just my personal preference. Fite meh ! =)
Yeah, I'm Brazilian and I'm gonna fucking make your recipe cause I'm fucking drunk and have the ingredients, brb

If Boris says "Since when this is so strong" you know its battery acid.
It's Estonian mustard only baltics can handle 💪👍
Battery acid?
Quick, call Queen to add her Potassium
we don't have chili we have mustard lmao.
although mustard spicier.
Russian is the most spicy of all that I tried
@@Tinigame I'm sorry, is this some sort of western spy joke that I am too romanian to understand?
As a Russian who ALWAYS puts rice in crab salad (because it makes it bigger in volume, fluffier in texture, more nutricious and the lack of flavour can be easily balanced out with more salt, pepper and mayo), I must declare authoritatively... that I actually don't judge if you don't do it. Tastes differ :)
Ah yes,Rice,A great filling for lots of things
хз, я никогда таким не занимаюсь, только сейчас узнал, что рис туда кладут..
I'm in Poland. We have a similar dish... and rice. It needs rice! And a sprinkling of paprika.
@@brick6347 paprika sounds interestion. Gotta try it out.
I am proud as an Asian. And i also don’t judge Boris for not putting rice in bc Culture Differs :)!
Surprised to see Philippines to be one of the top viewers of your channel. Get ready, because a lot of Filipino viewers here will unleash their Pinoy pride lol
You make me crave the homeland. I was adopted from Russia at the age of 3, but the ability to squat like slav; an insatiable hunger for mayonnaise, and my passionate relationship to pickles have stayed strong, even throughout my 25 years in western spy land of America 😂
Thank you for sharing a little bit of a home I never got to know, with me!
Boris few years ago: who the blin doesnt have time to cut the egg using knives
boris now: *grates the egg*
real character development here boys
In his potato salad video he just crushes it in his hands
Hey, people change, grow and evolve.
To be honest for this salad some people do grate an egg and cut other ones. Somehow its important!
He’s grown in Slav power. He needs no such tools. Except for looks, of course.

Awww, as a Russian speaker, I was really looking forward to listening to that beautiful Russian accent of yours. But English will do just as well :3 (and yes, subtitles are a pain to make)
How strong is his accent to you? In the west, most of our exposure to the Russian accent is that fake accent you hear in movies, and to our ignorant ears, all Slavs sound the same.
@@BlackEpyon well, you should take my words with a grain of salt, 'cause I'm no specialist in precise pronunciations, nor do I give much attention to accents anyway. But for me his accent is mild, the only word he said with a solid accent is "приготовим". And he also might be just messing with us and purposefully saying some words differently than intended. I mean. it's Boris 😂
The main problem with the West portraying Russian language is not accent, trust me. It's mostly enormous grammatical errors. But who am I to judge, my English is terrible sometimes
@@aleatar Out of curiosity, which part of Russia does Boris sound like, based on accent? Thanks for your explanation!
@@aleatar In the movie "The Death of Stalin," They didn't even attempt at a Russian accent. A good thing too, since it's mainly British humour. Supposed to be a dark satire (it's banned in Russia, of course), they play the historicity a bit loose, but I thought the movie was hilarious.
NFKRZ did a video about western trope of using faux Cyrillic, and the hilarious butchery that ensues when you try to read it literally.
Syntax was my issue studying French when I was in school. It just made no sense to me. Maybe they just didn't teach it right, or maybe it's just my autism, but I really struggled with it. Most Canadian schools teach French as a second language, or English in the case of our Quebec province (which primarily speaks French), but I ended up just dropping that class entirely.
@@Ealsante I'm sorry, that I can't tell. I'm not Russian, never been in Russia, I just speak Russian. And to be honest, I'm only like quarter Slav myself. Imho, it is good, but not as good as herring under a fur coat:) happy new year :)
my (Portuguese) dad made something called Salada Rússia but with lobster & sometimes added fried & breaded shrimp around edges.
Veggies & lobster are boiled & lightly seasoned w/olive oil & vinegar, salt & pepper.
regular salad + roasted peppers added in a line down middle of dish.
mayo is used on top of ingredients as a shell.
boiled eggs are separated & then pushed thru a strainer to create egg confetti.
the confetti is used for making designs on top of mayo.
then shrimp around edges.
it's my ALL TIME FAVORITE
*miss you Dad*

To be fair, crab flavoured pollock is still pretty tasty, I just wish they'd call it what it actually is.
They usually call it imitation crab on some labels, but I’m not sure on what others call it
Boris speaking russian just makes me the happiest gopnik for the whole day
Life of Boris more like cooking with Boris. I’m not complaining tho
Its a lovely Boris Christmas. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Here in Spain we call that "ensaladilla rusa", that translates to something like little russian salad
I guess, ensaladilla rusa is russian Olivier salad, not this one.
Это очень хорошо когда папа Борис говорит в по-русски! И я из Бразил!
I'm pretty convinced that if Boris had to be isolated on an island, the 1 item that he would bring is mayonnaise...lots of it.
Выглядит очень хорошо
Never change, Boris. A day with a new Boris video is always a happy one.
Happy Holidays Boris and Artyom! 💖
I made the salad less than a day after watching this video. Ingredients are all very cheap. I even upsized, quadruple the portions and still only cost around 16 USD.
Will be eating this with leftover rice all Christmas weekend.
In Belgium we also have crab salade, but it literally contains crab, mayonaise and some herbs for taste. That's it. You would love it Boris
That sounds amazing. Expensive, but amazing.
@@cobalt1754 Actually it is fairly cheap. This is because a lot of the time it doesn't contain crab but surimi. They add different things to it to make it taste like crab in that case. Also a "salad" in Belgium is a fancy word for the leftovers you have from anything and adding mayonaisse and some other herbs to it. meat salad f.e. is pretty much just mayonaise with little pieces of meat thrown in there.
Tastes meh on it's own but slap that bad boy on a piece of bread and you got yourself a good meal blin.
2:19 That scream tho.. 💀
Merry Christmas Boris! Thank you for making us laugh and learn!
Boris is the best cook you cannot tell me otherwise.
Norwegians could really use this slav masterpiece, it's just too good.
When the title says Russian crab mind literally thinks crabs are slavs since they squat when walking
flexing seven languages with a self deprecating joke to take the edge off for those of us who have a hard enough time with one.
I appreciate it Boris

Where I come from, we do not add cheese or fresh cucumbers, but instead we add boiled potatoes and pickles. Looking forward to try your recipe this year!
Sometimes we also add flavored crackers, but that is mostly prevalent in salad named "Salata Studenților"

Back in Romania we used to make something kinda simillar. We swapped out the "crab" for boiled pork and chicken and used a whole lot more vegetables like carrots and green peas. And of course, half a bottle of mayonnaise
I heard that the technical term for that is 'Salad Olivier', and it looks like every slavic/balkan country (and Romania) has their own variety of it. In Poland we call it 'Christmas Salad'. My family makes it without any meat.
it's been a long time since you've made a cooking video
This is the best gift I had this year. Bly....yay!

im from russia and this salad is my favourite. although i do add rice as it gives more salad in total weigh anddd adds a little bit of soft side to the dish to contrast the crispiness of cucumber and corn. (just like the eggs. if you want your salad to be tender tasting just add more eggs)
