Here's some great tips on how to walk in a high-heel wedge. The high-heel wedge is often preferred by women who prefer a thicker heel and a more stable base. Remember that your foot placement should always be the same, where you strike on the heel first, and then rolling through the ball of the foot.
If you're used to wearing the thinner stiletto heel, the wedge is going to feel a little bit different, and you may feel less stable. I recommend walking around the house, getting used to the new shape of the shoe.
If you still feel unstable in the wedge, I recommend doing ankle-strengthening exercises and balance training, so that you feel more stable in the wedge. For a wedge heel that does not have an ankle strap, some women will complain that their foot slides out of the shoe. I recommend gripping the shoe with the front of the toes, as this will increase your stability with each step you take.

Never wear something that makes you grip with your toes… it’s not worth the foot deformities this can cause!!!

Currently practicing in the house with wedges!! It hurts 5 minutes in bc I never wear high heels & I want to practice & I think the best one to practice in is wedges bc of the stable base. Then I want to move onto shoes like stilettos 👠 😄 if anyone has any other recommendations or advice for practice, please let me know!!! It’d be cool to be a pro!! Haha

I just got a pair of wedges and i love love love them, they're super easy to walk in, but they're so loud. I'm probably doing something wrong but how can I be more quiet?

I'm appalled that a podiatrist is recommending that you grip the shoes with you toes if you feel that the shoe is loose on you. The problems this can cause with not only your feet, but your knees and hips, is potentially serious. Shame on her for recommending unhealthy practices.

It appears that when you walk in the wedges, you roll your foot ever so slightly to the outside, so that your foot almost "rolls" over the curve of the foot. That has the effect of making your walking a lot more quiet as compared to just "slapping" the sole of the foot down.
