Hi Everyone! Today, we have a special episode - How to Walk in Heels =) Below are a few tips. Enjoy!
1. Start with a low heel and work your way up to a higher heel.
2. Use the elevation test by lifting your feet while in the heels, and if you can lift your feet one inch up, then the heel height is not too high for you.
3. Enjoy your heels, walk at your own pace, walk slow, and make sure you have good posture.
4. Walk heel to toe, heel to toe. The heel should strike the floor first before your toe does.

I taught myself to walk in heels by wearing super high heeled cowboy boots (lot's of structure and support and I didn't mind killing them) and stomping around the woods and fields around my house for a few hours. after figuring out how to balance on uneven squishy and rocky ground, walking on flat surfaces is a dream now and I've yet to find a heel I can't walk in.
Always take sandpaper, and scuff the bottom of a stiletto shoe. That way they won't slip on a slippery floor. Its VERY good advice, trust me.

When you pay 1,200 for the bottom of the shoe to be beautiful red.. no scuff. Noo scuff. Scuff bad..
You can also twist your feet on concrete to scuff the soles. Twist your stilettos back and forth like you do when you're crushing bugs beneath both sexy soles.
Not on the red soles! LOL!

I used to wear heels all the time but I got a different job so I stopped wearing them for about a year. I recently rediscovered my favorite 5 inchers...and after watching this video it all came back to me! Thanks so much. I'm going to wear these bad boys out tonight!
I just started with 6" stilettos and walked toward a full length mirror for like 20 minutes. When you learn in a 6" in heel, well, you'll know how to walk in any heel after. It's like learning in a stick shift first, you'll be able to drive anything and everything after a stick shift.
This is actually very helpful. This video is the reason why I've been walking properly in heels for the past year. Thank you for this!
Do NOT forget: The placement of your heel is vital for the comfort and the balance.

I've kind of given up on wearing high heels bc I'm 5'11". Every time I wear something with a 2+ inch heel I get nothing but comments on my height. Like "You're already tall, that's not fair. You don't need to wear those." Or "how's the weather up there?" and "I just wanna cut you off at the knees." No comments about the effort I'm putting into my look by walking in the things, no comments on how cute the shoes are, just "giant" remarks; I hate it.
+Amazon Angel why do you care what others say!? Come on! You don't live your lives for them! :-/ That's a stupid reason to not do what you want. If you think heels are BAD for your body, then don't wear them. If you want to because they look hot as heck, go for it!

+Amazon Angel those people are just jealous of your height! I'm sure they don't mean to hurt you, so don't let it get to you. My sister is 184cm tall (about 6 foot i think) and loves wearing VERY high heals, so she ends up being more than 6'56". She also get a lot of the comments like you do, but she loves feeling tall and just don't care about people's comments. Next time anyone comments on your height, just say thank you. As I said, they're just jealous about your height :)

ihath There is nothing wrong with loving heels, but i never understand why people can't take care of their feet too. Why not wear your heels, but learn how you can protect your feet so you can wear the heels you love straight to your grave.
Not insulting you, I'm serious. Some people have to give up their heels as they get older, but if you care for your feet, you can lower the chances of that ever happening to you.
Sounds like a sensible approach. Tell me more.
+X Zelxski I so agree with you. It is indeed important to learn how to protect your feet while wearing heels, I didn't pay any attention to my feet all these years and now suffering from bunions (not yet painful, but ugly)

I skipped all of those steps and began in stilletos and learned on my own by stepping on my toes and not on the he first :I
I currently can run and jump in stilletos heels and I am comfortable to wear them for 3-5 hours xD

Nope ^^ i dance in them all the time, sometimes I use cushion but only so I don't get bruises or feel uncomfortable wearing them :)

She s rright though. Practice is the key. I walk dance and yes, run in them. They are really not that difficult. Just wear them at home and walk on carpet, hardwood ,and cement and told too. Do the dishes or vacuum. You'll be running in them before long. They make you look so good it's worth all the prep..

I use to were heels when I was like 18 and 19 then I stopped because I wasn't going anywhere the needed heels, now I Want to wear them again and I have to retrain my feet thanks for this this explains why my fav shoes are sitting on my shoe rack.

Found this by looking up "How do people walk in stilettos?" because on EBay, there was these shockingly cute thigh high black boots decorated with small gems that made it look like a starry night sky. Problem was, the heel was thin. That was when i found this video. I was not expecting it to be such a fun person instructing on how to walk in them scary heels! A pleasant surprise I much enjoyed . :D
1.18 This size heel is actually good for your back. Higher or lower is not a good idea if you have a dodgy spine/posture.
Skip to 4:15-6:05 if you want to actually hear about walking in heels and not just her jabbering.
Or you could take my advice on how to walk in heels:
-start with a smaller heel or a wedge and work your way up.
-always have your knees at a slight BENT unless you want to experience discomfort
-take SMALL paces, you will always be slower walking heels. taking large strides will put uncomfortable pressure on your knees.
-make sure your feet actually fit in the shoe. if you are going to be wearing heels for a long time, consider investing foot inserts. some people experience blisters on the back of the ankle, some at the ball of the foot, etc. it usually depends on the shoe so make sure you really practice in them beforehand.
-consider stashing a pair of flats in your bag if you don't think you can wear them for the entire duration.
-hair spraying the inside sole of the shoe will make your foot stick to the shoe. this is how celebs wear their heels so they don't come off.
-practice before first on carpet but then on a slippery surface. whenever i needed to wear heels it was usually a formal function with a slick floor (i.e. ballroom, hotel lobby)

Anyway, my problem was that my ankle kept twisting and my foot turned to my right (or left, if it was the left shoe) how do i stop that from happening :( gives me a HUGE falling look it's so embarrassing

Thank Wendy, great guide when I buy my girl friend shoes. You are never too old to wear them. To me it projects class. And when I see a lady walk in confident in heels, dressed well, she gives an air of power. It's cute in a way, but commands my utmost respect.
I have 4 days to learn how to walk in high heels, but they have a big heel platform so I think I'm good. This really helped!

I have 3 inch wedges because I have weak ankles
3" it's comfortable, i don't do more than 3.5", if it's more than that I'd take them to the shoe repair to cut a little bit of heel and also I wear cushions on the bed of the foot

Thank you so much for this video! My school club is hosting a fashion show and the girls have to walk in heels. As embarrassing as it sounds, it's not so easy for me as it is for other girls to feel comfortable in heels, so I really appreciate this
when I wear high heels, even if I walk the right way, the soles of my feet hurt too much afterwards, they feel like burning. also, I like to walk quickly, and it's really difficult to walk fast and put the heel down first. It looks silly to make small and quck steps, and if I make big steps, I'm afraid that I might walk into an uneven pavement and strain my leg. What I do, is walking fast, with big steps, putting the whole foot down at the same moment. My boyfriend said I don't look good in them, because when I wear heels I bounce too much. Also, I find it really difficult to find heels with soft soles, or heels with straps that don't leave red marks on my feet. Is it impossible to find good shoes under 100 euro? Is it the shoes that are wrong or my feet that are too sensitive? If I wear high heels and gradually increase the height of the heel, will I ever be able to wear stilettos? those medium height wedges shown in the video still make my feet sore. pointy kitten heels make my toes shore. the only thing my feet tolerates is ankle length boots with medium chunky heel. My feet have a lot of muscle for a woman, because I exercise a lot, but also I am overweight for about 10-12 kg. Does this make it impossible to hear high heels? And when I try on heels,if I like them, Ican walk in them, but they feel uncomfortable, should i buy them? Is there a chance to break them in? And what details should I take into accound to discern if a heel is of qood quality or not?Wendy, if you see this, tell me your suggestions, as well as anyone who might know.

I love high heels and I used to wear them a lot. After spraining the same ankle several times wearing them, I ended up donating all my shoes; and I had many... Now I'm afraid to try one. +Seah Wanling Sharon If you're having trouble with balancing, try directly placing one foot in front of the other. This will help you balance and also give your hips a cute little sway. Don't look down at your heels as you walk. Look up and walk toe- heel. That way, you'll be more relaxed and you'll walk more normally. When you walk normally, you don't usually look down at your feet, so it won't help if you're wearing heels. Also, it's always good to look where you're going, heels or no heels! Hope that helps. If it doesn't, look it up on Wiki How. That usually solves all of my problems! XD

Louboutin toe boxes are too narrow in proportion to the arch and heel cup. Jimmys fit better and Jessicas are as gorgeous at a much more reasonable price.

I'm a crossdresser and I find it difficult to walk in any high heels, high or lower! They keep slipping off my feet. Okay, so I wear a size below, but then they're too tight on the toes. I can't win. :(

I never realised I was walking in heels wrong until my friend told me. This really helped. I practised walking around my house & am getting used to it now. I say in my head 'heel toe heel toe heel toe' when walking & it's helpful.

Take it from someone that is older and has had some life experience. I shoe is not going to give you sex appeal. You either have it or you don't and if you don't, it's more a matter of just getting in touch with the sexiness that's inside you. High heels can cause so many problems not only for your feet but for your whole body. You won't look very sexy when you're in excruciating pain after the heels have done a number on you. Of course, you don't have to take my advice but if you are reading this, all I would say to you is, "you are already sexy. Just get in touch with that and work it. Feel beautiful and sexy and be the woman that you are."

These ladies are so mean. Susan, thank you for giving a kind, heartfelt, well lived life experience share. You weren't mean, snobby, intrusive, etc about it. You simple gave advice based on your life experience and try to let these girls know what is on the flip side of wearing heals for years and years. I for one, appreciate it. Hopefully none of these girls ever suffer any excruciating feet pain in their future.

I'm always in sneakers and flats or 3 inch heels - my oldest daughter was almost 8 lbs at birth and youngest daughter was about 11lbs at birth (2.5 years apart) and I'm 5'2". I had to wait a couple of years for my back to strengthen by exercising and living in NYC I walk A LOT, lol. Have a blessed day!

@@ArikaPF1 we consider them pretty because we keep seeing ads with young beautiful women and celebs walking in heels. If advertised right, people would wear corsets, long neck rings or practice foot binding again.

I dont recomend to walk in high heels like that, One step wrong and your foot can be destroyed. My tip is toe to heel (i did not look up on youtube about this, not google, or anything else. Learned this the hard way :P)

Typically that just means that you're not wearing a proper high heel for YOU... meaning it might be a good height for someone else, but maybe you're not ready for it. And/or you need a heel that has a cute ankle strap to give you more support. If you're struggling to walk normally, like you would in flats/sneakers than the heel is not the right one for you.
