If you are wondering what jeans can make your bum look good, you need to look for the right designs in the yoke and the pockets of the jeans.
The best jeans to make your bum look rounded and perky should have a softly v shaped yoke and you should look for the best pocket placement, shape, size and space in between.

Wow respect for saying "or a thumb down if you don't" I've never heard anyone saying that before
Chi, it’s obvious that you work so hard to produce these videos! So much analysis and thought go into making them. Thank you so much!😘
Thank you so much! Glad you like them!
Totally agree! She is really hardworking
I love your videos! Thank you!❤
@@PetiteDressingHi, can you name 3 commin brands for flat but? (example Lee, Levi's, Wrangler, Diesel G-star)
Great videos , but can you please let us know the Jean brands that you describing in your video this will make it easier for us to find the type of jeans we need.
You yoke Girl! When I peruse the 50ft long racks of jeans at thrift stores, I start at he opposite end and shop the backs of the jeans by flipping them back fast. If I see a decent yoke, I stop and quickview the front and inseam, etc. Takes about 3mins to shop 100+ pairs just looking for good yokes...no joke! Heh heh!
Excellent tip. Thanks!
@@CTChick2011 I totally agree! :)
What a great idea! Saves a ton of time (and money, especially if there are no returns allowed). :)
You can also Wrap the waist around your neck. And you can Try on without even trying on.
@@jadeb2852 Is your neck circumference related to your waist size, then? How? Please explain more.
I've come to believe finding perfect jeans is as mythical as the search for the golden fleece... but, its nice how you broke this down.
Fran Denim. They aren’t cheap, but if you work out, they’re the only way to go. My quads are 25” (it’s your thighs that help you get up off the ice or hold up your body during ballet, for example) and that’s the biggest fit issue I’ve found-if I can’t get them over my quads, it doesn’t matter what the hip and waist measurements are.
I make my own jeans and have been wondering a long time about pocket size, placement, and yoke size and shape. Thank you for this really great video!
Oh MAN(!!) i sure do wish I had the talent to make my own jeans! That is AWESOME!
The way you say "butt" is so satisfying... it made me want to work out and become proud of mine!
Yes I love the way she says Butt too!
Never thought that a single Jean could carry so many mysterious facts to affect the butt. Such an interesting and useful information ☺️. Thank you so much for this video 🙂☺️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Please give some brands that usually have good yoke and pockets for petite. Love your videos..such good information.
Agreed!
Please fo
yes I saw a pair that I would love to have
I don’t see where any answers to suggestions of kinds of jeans recommended to make your butt look fuller and rounder.
Please suggest!
Pretty sure that Chi cannot suggest brands, but only provide guidance as to what to look for re yoke/pockets.
I found this video to be extremely helpful. For me, jeans are the hardest to find in a flattering cut for my fuller bottom. I don't like them too tight, that means I usually end up having to have waistline altered. I learned a lot from you about looking for the most flattering pocket placement and yoke. Those were things I'd never really given much thought about but you were on point in your advice. Thank you!
Glad you found it helpful Tracey!
YES!!!! Someone finally did a video on this!! Jeans for the near perfect rear: pockets that are made/sewn closer together to the mid-main seam. The farther the pockets (to our hips; really?) the more flat and spread out our butt’s look.
Placement of pockets can be everything 💖💖.
Your OTS top is gorgeous!!!
‘sorry for the edit!!
The Dark Jeans she’s wearing who’s the maker of those?! Love em!!
That's what I would like to know. They look fabulous, and I would love to buy a pair.
The darkest blue narrow jeans do the job every time for me, they look the smartest regardless of the size of the bottom half. ❤️🇬🇧
I love how these are for us skinny gals but you include information for every size
Thank you so much!
I’m 5’1 and I just recently realized I should be shopping in petites 🤦🏾♀️
Yes if youve short legs it makes sense ,
Only if you are petite in waist too. I am 5’3” but could never where petite since I have a high waist just short legs
Giiirrrlll me too lol well 5’2” and i juuust this past yr realized I’m supposed to be in a petite
I know it took me until I went to live in the UK when I was 30 y/o🤦♀️in France where I am from 'petite' hardly is a concept. It's all about tall and skinny bodytypes like Ines de la Fressange🤦♀️
Same here. I feel I'm so stupid
I don't understand why anyone would put a thumbs-down on your videos. This is great information. Way to go!
Thank you!
If it happens, they must have slipped because they meant to press thumbs up!😊
I thought you looked best in the dark jeans that had the arching yoke. (This is coming from a straight female, who has no problem telling strangers if they have a tag showing, fly down or something peeking out their nostril )
What brand are those dark jeans with the gold tag on back pocket?
Hello, I just found this video and I'd have to agree with pretty much everyone here that the dark jeans with the little gold tag ...which I think might be White House Black Market are definitely the best looking jeans. I personally would love to have a pair if the information of what brand and style of jeans those are, could be made available please?
@@adozencrystalroses Yes, please! I came to the comments trying to find the same answer!
I'm here to find these jeans also!
I would never thumbs-down you! Your videos are wardrobe-changing!
I'm so glad to hear that! Thank you, lovely! 🥰
I'm 5'1 and wear a size 5 or 6 depending on the brand, but wanted to share my favorite pair, and fit well..American Eagle petite length "super stretch kick boot".. they are so comfy, look great and have a bit more of a flare then the regular boot cut, but are tight past the knees then flare giving the illusion of a longer leg, in my opinion!
Thanks for sharing Jerilyn!
Yes, exactly, that's what I almost exclusively buy too, because no other jeans look good on me, too bad now in Germany I can't find them on sale like I did in the US
My favorite channel! Im 61,4’ 10”. Your advice is well explained, perfectly demonstrated and you are VERY funny😁
Thank you for all the work behind the scenes to make us look great.
The best jeans hack I ever learned was how to get rid of the back gap. If you got lots of booty and a small waist just add an elastic into the jeans. I use the elastic with the button holes already in it, then cut a slit on each side of the inner band of the jeans. Then run the elastic through. Sew a button on both sides just a little beyond the slit and you can adjust the waist however tight or loose you want it.
Such a smart way to fix the gap! Thank you for sharing!
Brilliant idea
I gave up on jeans when jeggings came into existence... I literally bought a wide leg jeans a week back after watching this video... 1st real jeans in like 8 years
This was one of the most informative videos on this subject I've seen! Thanks!
I like how you give advise for lots of bodytypes without bodyshaming. I will keep it in mind when I shop for jeans. They are crazy expensive because I am over 6 feet, 184 cm.
OMG! Your analysis is fantastic! I never noticed all these components that make up the shape and look of jeans and how we look in them. This is the most important video I’ve watched in a long time. Thank you so much!
You're always welcome! ❣️
Never before have I found someone who gets my
Body type; Thank you
So glad you think so Cathleen!
Thank you! Yes, the back waist is always sticking out on me! I'm only 5 ft tall so it's hard to find things that fit in a flattering way
Finally somebody just broke it down. I’ve been looking at these for years and never understood the concept until now
Just came across your page this morning and I've already subscribed and binge watched 8 of your videos! I'm built just like you and am so excited to have someone give me advice on how to dress. Love the humor too! You are amazing! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos! 👍🏼😊
Successfully picked out a pretty good pair of jeans today thanks to this! I hate jeans normally and haven't owned any for a couple years, but for various reasons was in need of at least one pair! I was unable to try them on (no fitting rooms) but with all these tips I was able to find a flattering pair fairly easily and quickly! Thanks a ton!!
No ifs, ands or "butts" about it, I appreciated your sense of humour as well as your video. :) Thank you for this! Keep smiling, Shannon A.
You are so funny! And thank you!
@@PetiteDressing You're most welcome and thank _you!_ :)
Ladies, in the US try DG2 jeans, available from hsn. I’m not an employee or get money from anybody. But I’ve been wearing them for years.
Chi, it's wrong you are not charging money for this. This is like having your personal stylist to make you look good. This is amazing. Thank you for your hard work and most valuable advice. Many blessings
Thank you so much for appreciating!❤️❤️
Great technical explanation of the jean design and how it affects the our shape. Thank you.
It's so great to hear that, Liz! Thank you 💕
Loved the relaxed fit jeans with 3 buttons and double belt loops! Ugh... I want those!
I am also 5’2” and have a hard time finding the perfect jeans. This video was extremely helpful. Thank you so much!🤗
Thank you Renée!
Renee, take a look at Everlane. I bought a pair of their jeans after seeing them in a Dearly Bethany video, I'm 5'2, they do an ankle fit and they were perfect for me, have already bought more
@@mindyxm 😊 Thank you. I definitely will check out!
Shopping for jeans is a struggle
The struggle is real... :)
yes !1 especially for talls ! anything over a 30" inseam is hard for me ! ima 33" inseam ... finally found pants that fit me at the western wear store. love me some ariats !
You can say that again!
Sigh.....
6:38 This and the low sausage casing pockets are why I had to switch to skirts, leggings etc. So basically I need jeggings or go to a tailor. Petite jeans cost me around 50 bucks a piece then add tailor fees and I'm better off buying a 60 dollar (or less) dress lol. The struggle is real.
I just stumbled across your video and though I am not petite. I am an apple shape, I love your videos ! Your sense of humor is enlightening ! I have learned so much about picking out jeans that would fit my flat butt better ! Thank you so much and I look forward to watching your other videos and passing them on to my petite size daughter ! ♥️
Glad you enjoyed it, Karla! Welcome!
Chi, so much AMAZING advice, as always! I never thought about the yoke on jeans! ❤❤
I’m 5’7 but still have lots of trouble finding jeans due to my flat rear end. Thanks for all the good tips!
And hardly anyone on UA-cam or any bloggers address this problem!!!!
I love Levi's
@@Alex-zl5ht Are they flattering to a flat hiney? If so, what kind specifically? I know they are numbered differently by the style. Thank you!
im 5'9" and I have the devil of the time finding jeans. I have flat upper rear and slight curve at the bottom with hip dips. all of her tips I've used and they do work! its just hard to find the right length
Very informative and love your sense of humor. I got a quite a few chuckles from your humor. Thank you for creating this. I know so much more now!
I am not petite, I am 5’6”, but I really love your videos & fashion advice. And your great sense of humor too!
I'm glad to hear that! Even if you're not petite you're still watching my videos! I really appreciate that ❤️
I always have to buy the "curvy" fit jeans and even then I still have to alter the back waist to get rid of the gap
I've watched two videos & must say....you are so adorable! I'm 5'-4" and your tips are fantastic. Thank you! ❤
So much great information to reduce the struggle that is jean shopping! Thx for all the knowledge!
Yes us short women need advise like that will look forward to your next videos .
A heel will make your legs and butt look tighter. it changes the way we stand and walk when our weight is shifted to the toes and not the heel. you can see the difference! TY Chi Li I love jeans, but i have no butt!
That was very informative. Thank you for sharing. I have not paid attention to any of that when buying jeans, nor did I realize the significance. Will be shopping for jeans much differently now by using your key tips. Much love from Canada🇨🇦
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for all these informations. Would be nice if you do a video with jeans and pants with more flat shoes and also sneakers. Many of us do wear them. Thanks !
Where have you been all my life . Yes I want to look good in Jeans . You are beautiful. Bless you..
I love this channel never even paid attention to the yolk didn’t notice it existed. Makes me look at clothes so differently
Thank you, Pim! ☺️
Thanks for the handy tips !
I agree with the heels, they really do change the look of any outfit, especially for us shorter ladies.
If I wear a pair of sneakers or flat shoes then swap to some heels, it’s an instant transformation from daggy to fabulous!
Proper deportment makes all the difference to the way clothes fit. Girls used to be taught to stand tall, stretching their heads towards the ceiling, with their backs straight, as if there was elastic from the top of their heads. To make sure they got it right, they had to balance books on their heads and keep them there while they walked the length of the hall! The tummy was held in, shoulders back a little and down. It was an elegant and graceful look. They had waists all around, back and front! No loping, swaggering or wiggling - just a gentle sway perhaps... Poetry in motion, finishing school fashion.
I only discovered you a few weeks ago - really like your attitude and the vibe of your films:-) And I find your advice super useful although I'm not petite:-)
Glad you like them!
I’m discovering your channel. I really can’t stop seeing all the videos. I ‘m learning too interesting things from you . Thank you I really need you.
Funny and useful. I have been looking for front yoke jeans - that is, the yoke is on the front of the jeans - since they accent the waist and are flattering for pear shapes. I wore them all the time in 1980s but they are not made anymore.
I think it really depends on your specific shape too. I am frustrated with most jeans because the pockets are too high. In the early 2000's they were lower, and those were way more flattering for me
For future readers, Poshmark and thrift stores are your friends for finding older styles of jeans.
I SO agree! ESPECIALLY around the season people are thinning out their old pairs to get new! Just Remember with stretchy material on used jeans to check for stretched out waist areas and also (I’ve found) look at the inner thigh area to make sure they’re not too worn and that the fabric isn’t pilled..I’m personally not a fan of super stretchy fabric just Bc I find they don’t seems to last very Long (esp. if you’re like me and dry your jeans in a dryer-damages the elastin) and also they seem to be super “thin”...I like high quality jeans for a teeny price-not so easy but thrifting and Poshmark definitely help!
@@bridgettarvin5626 I experimented with a pair of Levis with 3% spandex and put them in the dryer after washing. Usually, I hang them. I washed them 3 times before the inseam split. I went back to hanging them.
Thank you
I can now go into my 70s with confidence wearing comfortable and good fitting jeans that are appropriate for me.😊
You're welcome! ❤️
The right underwear is crucial to the look for petite ladies. A centre back seam avoids a flat rear and the rise should match to keep the silhouette smooth. Some tiny petites may find that slightly *hipster" briefs (meant to sit above the hip) sit at waist level for them without showing above the waistband.
Great tips Hez!
@@PetiteDressing Thank you, but you are the inspiration! 😘💕
Wow chic u are informative I never know about yolk or pockets that can affects tremendously to one shape. I will pay attention next purchase of jeans thank u chi u are so good

They are in the men section. Trust me, ladies. That's where I find them.💙🤷
@@lorsange1107 what do you do about the huge waist? I have a big butt and for mens jeans to fit my butt the legs would be huge and the waist would be huge as well.
@@sharonstrickland6421 I have a big butt and a huge waist too. Large men's skinny jeans are my go. You'll be gladly surprised. Just make sure to try them first.
Yep. Hour glass shape here. I wear wide waist band pants. These type of jeans contour my curves way more better than any other type of jeans.
Soft denim, no bulky embroiled pockets for me. 👖
What brand are the green jeans??? Got to have those. Thanks for making videos for us shorter humans😻
I found this video great, even being tall (6') 😏
This video is incredibly helpful for me because I'm sewing jeans and pants for the first time. Thanks for the booty ❤️ and your soothing voice!
Thank you so much for your videos! I am 4'11 around 100lbs, and I always have the hardest time finding jeans that are FLATTERING. I've only had one true pair that was like my holy grail pair, and this is the first time I'm ever commenting but, I love your content!
Thank you Bree!
Hi Bree, I too am 4’11” but a bit more lbs.🤪 May I ask what the name of Jeans are that are your holy grail? I have found some (no name brand) in the girls section at Walmart believe that or not! They are skinny jeans but I’d love to know about other brands too! TY
actually, you are very right about the theory of how is the jeans cut
informative. knew about pockets and yokes. and dark shading on outside and lite center makes legs look thin and longer. problem is to just find a pair that fits. fits the waist then will be too large in hips or vice versa. next problem is the leg dont get to tight fit with larger butt cause just makes butt look way large unless thats what your going for. have had couple pair that fit perfect but at my age been thru hundreds. find some you like and go back for more and they not there. if lucky to find some perfect ones go back NOW and get more dont wait.they will be gone. good video.
Thank you! I had somewhat of idea what was appropriate for my short self. I do have small waist line and round hips!
I love all the info on the right fitting jeans. However, I can't wear heels as often as I used to so what are some styling tips for a "no-heel" look?
Oh my word I need a new pair of jeans oh great work 😍😍😍
Good to hear that, Doreen! You might as well want to shop on my website? Here's the link! ✨ www.petitedressing.com/#modal-12
Buy Clearwater Creek jeans. They fit so well and have a little spandex so you can move. I have four pair and I love them.
I like silvers& miss me
Thank you! I thought I was the only one that would pay Attention to the pockets! In very picky on my jeans!!!!
Thanks for the tips. For me, no butt is too big (must be a black thing) so I'll be adapting those tips a bit.

I’ve always had a great butt , but no longer so now I need help so this is great! TY! Learning to dress my new apple shape.
Same same.. I used to be hv hourglass figure.. until recent (aging) yrs, embracing my new Apple shape now
The size of the back pockets matter too. If you have a small butt like I do, you want avoid jeans with big back pockets at all costs. Jeans that stretch are the best to wear if you want to enhance the shape of your butt.
Yes size does matter!
👍👍👍👍👍You are making EXCELLENT comments! I love watching you! Everything you are saying is absolutely correct!!!!
I love also your sense of humor. It’s just makes me laugh so hard! 😂

So excited when you said your chanel could help me dress for my height - till I realized you cater to petites. I am 6'3", so I I'm not sure your chanel can help much. But this video was really helpful!
Your videos are always top class, that was so interesting! Thanks for posting.

You are looking great. Thank you for clarifying what a good jeans fit is. You help me know how to better shop. See ya on your next video. 😀
thank you Susie!
You're hilarious 🤣🤣The way you say "butt" made me laugh probably 50 times
Taking a shot each time she says it...
There is a more polite way of saying it instead of "butt" 100 times. Got tired of it.
I thought I was the only one. Never knew the word butt could make me laugh so much.
🤣🔥🌚
You're the first channel I'm begging for LINKS! 😁. Even just a few like to those pull on jeans... 🥺 Please & thank you 🤍
Good advice for anyone, except the heels thing. My mother wore heels her whole working life. She had to have hip replacements 3 times, 2 knee replacements and bunion surgery twice. I blame the heels. Heels may look hot, but are not great for one's alignment.
if you get the right width of toe box and the heel stack right under the ball of the heel with a chunkier sole it'll cause less problems, but they are rare
All your content is so premium. Thanks 🙌🏼
I just watched this video again. I have been so frustrated trying to find jeans. So many sellers don’t even show the back of the jeans and the only picture may be the model sitting down!! (Example - Banana Republic). They have some of the most ridiculous pictures that don’t even show the clothes fully. I love the dark pair you show in video, but they seem to be sold out. I have not found other similars yet. Could you do another video of jeans for the coming fall season now so we have a chance to buy before sold out? I love your videos and watch before I buy anything. Thanks!
I will!
I really appreciate this video--you have been a blessing again!
I don't know how I came across this video, but it was really helpful, as I really want my butt to look good in my jeans! I remember having jeans from the 1980s that had no pockets and I never liked the way they looked.
Glad you think so!
Both! Depends on the jeans.
Hello Chi!i luv your videos!i’ve been binged watching and i’ve been fancying of buying a new pair of jeans but no confidence of buying coz almost all i bought were a mistake because of this problem, now am more conscious and really this video is a big help!
Thank you so so much! ❤️
Heels: good for butt, bad for everything else. Guess I'll have frumpy butt syndrome 😂
True!
Women do not need to be told to wear shoes that torture our feet, and are bad for us. Imagine if men were told to wear shoes that pinch, throw them off balance, and are so uncomfortable, just so they would appeal to women ;they’d never wear them!
Thank you. This was very detailed and well presented.
