I actually can't wait for it to arrive. Immediately pre ordered because the Gamecube is my fav console of all time and im constantly playing on the Switch!! Thanks 4 testing it out and also providing some gameplay footage and not only unboxing!!!
Omg. This video helped me realize why I hate playing retro games with modern controllers - the missing hexagonal base!! I need that snappiness to keep the joystick in place, otherwise it feels sloppy to play. Amazing, thank you for pointing that out, now I know what to look for
The GameCube controller is one of the most comfortable controllers of all time. A close second is the PS5 (although I held it for only several seconds [I'm broke don't judge me]). I'm going to get them because my joy cons keep on disconnecting without any notification. (They're up to date) and having these will be revolutionary for my switch! 😊 Edit: I broke my switch rail by punching my wizards. ☹️. I'm sad
I have this and I like them a lot. But honestly, mine actually do disconnect from time to time. More often then my joycons. It does pause thr game and notify you though. Although all I've played so far with them is MMBN
Is it possible to snap on the analog stick caps from the original GameCube controller? You can buy these as spare parts everywhere. I aleady preordered a Niyxi Wizard.
@@paullucci so I absolutely love the controller and it has been great for me. I will say that I almost exclusively used it on the switch as I don't really play docked. If you are looking to play primarily docked, realize that this isn't identical to GameCube controller, and if you are looking for something identical to the original GameCube controller there are better options. I personally like this as it's something that gives the gamecube layout but with improvements. Was weary as I've never heard of this brand but overall I definitely recommend it, especially if you plan to use them attached to the switch in handheld mode
@@ugot1try that's exactly how I want to use it. I wanted something beefier to replace the tiny joy-cons and the promise of zero drift is very appealing. Cheers
Nyxi makes other controllers that I believe don’t develop stick drift either. I’m going to invest in some of their other joycons as well when they restock the one I want. I preordered the Wizard (one in video) and it just shipped today I’m so excited
Good, concise video man. Much appreciated. In regards to the macro feature; How many button presses does it record? And does it have to be from the same "side". Meaning the right macro will only record the face buttons the right triggers and the left will only record the d-pad those triggers but neither will record a combination?
I just got these and tested them out. Gotta say, the Hallmark analog sticks aren't as good as I thought it was. It's very inconsistent when I tested them on precision games like Apex Legends, where your aim needs to be perfect. The right analog stick was not as accurate as I was hoping it would be. Tbh though, that's not saying too much since this is the Nintendo switch we're talking about here. If we're talking in terms of power and performance, the switch is like two whole generations behind so it's not too big a deal. I wasn't actually going to play apex legends on the switch, but it would have been nice to have the option to AND have good GameCube controllers. Other than that, everything else about the controller should just be chalked up to player preference.
If the triggers where actually analog I would be sold. All I want is a wireless Bluetooth gsmecube controller than I can use with my steam deck to emulate gamecube games on my TV.
@1BYEBYE1 PowerA made that Gamecube cotroller rep back when Smash Ultimate was releasing. No rumble but basically a classic style GC controller that has Bluetooth. Works great with Steam Deck (from my little usage I've done so far). They aren't terribly expensive either.
Hi ! Thanks for the review, it makes you want !! Can you say if the controller is confortable for rpg or adventure games like Zelda, Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles, Pokemon... I wonder it because of the layout of XYAB buttons.
Yeah I would say I prefer it for those types of games. You tend to use the A button a lot in those and that’s what the Gamecube controller is known for
@@Portly Thanks for the answer ! I have read some complains about how you can tens/twist your wristle for keeping the screen in front of the eyes when you play in portable mode due to the inclinaison of the controller. Are you concern by that ?
@@ehlviir7643 it seems pretty comfortable in my use and I do have wrist problems. It can definitely be uncomfortable for games where you constantly use the right stick, like first person shooters. The product is brand new so it will probably be a long time before that could really be tested. Hall effect thumbsticks are not a new concept though. A few other companies are doing it and their controllers have been out for awhile. Hopefully the claim is true
I got the controller yesterday and noticed it actually does. I was playing MLB the Show and the reticle for the batter was moving on its own. That's with a fully charged battery. We'll see if more people get this issue considering the company claims it's not possible.
That’s what they claim. Time will tell. One person commented here that they have drift already somehow but idk lol My experience has been fine and usually drift takes a long time and a lot of use to kick in but the product is brand new

I agree 1million percent. I hate that controllers don’t have this. My ocd loves when I’m actually going straight forward or right/left
Especially for speed running or lining up frame perfect tricks
Nah, round gates are way better for something like Super Monkey Ball
They shouldve added the stability support blocks that the Hori Splitpad got.
