  • In a world where platform fighters like Super Smash Bros and Rivals of Aether have a fanbase that loves Gamecube controllers, it's no surprise Nyxi is making a more traditional GC one. It supports PC, mobile, Nintendo Switch, Gamecube, Wii, and Wii U; works wired and wirelessly; features hall effect joysticks; AND uses optical switches in its buttons.
Yeah. This might be the one

UPDATE: I reached out to NYXI about the analog triggers not working, and they quickly addressed it in a firmware update!
You can find the firmware update that adds analog trigger support to the Warrior here: nyxigame.com/pages/upgrade-fi...
To install, run the file and plug in the receiver for your Warrior controller to your PC via USB C

If you're having trouble with Analog Trigger support on Gamecube games, NYXI pushed out a patch to fix it! I linked it in the description.

I hope they can add wired in an update because both the dongle and the controller have a USB-C port, so it should be simple to just plug in the wire and be able to have lower latency

my nyxi warrior has the weird issue that the left stick slightly decalibrates itself after some time. especially when playing platform fighters. when you do the input test on steam, you will recognize that one direction (down for me) will never reach its full value. if you turn the controller off and on again it works again. super annoying.

I swore off wireless, my new best friend is the microsoft brand xbox 1 controller.
technically, the best controller is a Nintendo brand Switch Pro controller using a cable connection cause their dense rubber sticks reduce snapback.

I got some good news with the controller, in Australia it costs as much as a white and black ps5 controller, but the upgrade is slightly cheaper than the other colour ps5 controllers.

Hello Indie! Would you ever consider doing reviews of handheld emulator devices like the Miyoo Mini Plus or Retroid stuff? I think it could be a wealth of new things to take a look at! Glad to see a decent review for this finally, I might actually get one. I own the "innext wireless gamecube controller" thats on amazon and that thing actually rules. Low latency, gc and switch/pc receiver. Triggers click! Analog stick is accurate and not all stiff. Only real issue was with thr right trigger and the brand released a firmware update that fixed it. Should def check it out as I barely see reviews for it and with the shortage of good quality gc controllers it deserves some love.
I promise Its not the typical chinese clone garbage that is everywhere.

@@IndieAlpaca In the actual Gamecube version, the triggers are registered as digital not as analog and that affect not only that game but many, you see in the Mario Sunshine on Switch there's two type of action when you shooting water on ZR and R so you can move arround and shotting the water but on Gamecube is a different story, I also checked for an update on the main page from Nyxi but I didn't find any.

I think there are only 2 reasons for buying this controller:
-if you play a lot smash bros ultimate
-if you still play the original GameCube
There are another alternative for playing smash bros, there is the 8bitdo gbros adapter, that thing is fantastic, but the problema is that you need a GameCube controller and if you don’t have one, this nixi controller is another option.
And if you are still playing GameCube at this era, if you have the console probably you still at least 1 wired controller, but let’s be real, wired controllers are anoying, it has been around 22 years this console was released, so if you are still playing it, I think there is a high level probability you have kids, so this makes more complicate to play, the kids running around and maybe the pull the cable and the console falls down. There is the official wave bird controller, but is very expensive to get one in good condition, I had one and it broke by itself, I treat good my controllers, but for some reason I turn it on, and in 2 seconds it gets disconected even when using new batteries. There is another option, there is this blue retro wireless receiver, It totally works, but the problem, some games like metal gear, get super confusing looking at the buttons input on the screen and on the real controller they are on a different location, and also you need a pc to configure and sometime it doesn’t work. So the only reason for me to buy this nixi warrior, is because it include the adapter to connect to an old GameCube, that’s the whole reason I was interested in this controller.
If you are not playing smash bros, or game cube, really I don’t see any reason to buy this, they are many controllers.
So, nice review, you really helped me in taking a decision to buy this.
Finally! All my favorite consoles has wireless controllers, nes with 8bitdo adapter, snes with 8bitdo adapter, n64 with the fighter 64 wireless controller, GameCube with this nixi controller, ps1/2 with the 8bitdo adapter. Finally I have all wireless controllers that really works!
