There's something very moving when you see those young soldiers standing upright, proudly saluting Captain Moore. My generation have SO much to thank his generation for! I'm eternally grateful. For our freedom.

Captain Tom and people of his generation are the sole reason this country is called Great Britain Captain Tom at 99 years old didn’t have to do anything he and his generation have already given more than enough but in our hour of need who stood up and led by example? Captain Tom, god bless you. All my love and respect. I for one will never forget what your generation gave (and in your case still are) giving for all of us. A true inspiration.

What a man, what an indomitable spirit. I would feel small in his presence I am sure. The older generation that endured years of wartime will alas too soon all be gone, to be replaced by a generation of " me firsts" and "snowflakes" Many of us do not respect or appreciate what was given by that generation that went before us, I fear we will never see their equal. I don't refer to the arms forces when I say that, I mean the people of this country then and now. I would say something about the people who gave thumbs down to this but they are not worth the thought that would go into it.
Can I ask, if he didn't get the publicity and media hysteria and he struggled to raise £10 like the vast majority of people at his age would probably achieve, what would have impressed you most about his story?
Many young people are out there now during this epidemic, treating patients, driving ambulances, and working in supermarkets so us everyday folk can have what we need. Let's have respect and love for the wartime generation like Captain (now Colonel) Tom, but let's remember that there are so many selfless, brave and caring young people about right now too. They may not be fighting wars, but they're keeping this country going. So let's raise a glass to them, too.

You can’t seem to grasp the fact that these nurses and doctors have NEVER dealt with a pandemic. Yes, they were extremely busy at work before but during times like this it’ll be the worse thing they’ll experience. I would LOVE to see you work a day in an ICU like they are currently doing everyday, you simply couldn’t do it. These times are nothing like “their usually jobs” it’s chaotic, manic and devastating for everyone. Actually be human and realise they’re doing an amazing job protecting us during this whilst they are putting themselves and their families at risk. Start being grateful because one day we won’t have the NHS, and then that day will be a disaster. And it’ll be because of people like you being ungrateful.

R.I.P Captain Sir Tom Moore. You Sir, was a national hero, you inspired the nation, raising millions for the NHS in the fight against Covid. Sadly, Covid took it's toll, and took you too at the age of 100. We salute you sir.
I cry every time I hear this song as it was my dad's favourite and he is no longer with me. But Tom is just one of the most amazing man to stand up and help others.
A genuine hero, legend and gentleman - the last of a generation we should never forget. They gave more for our survival than any other.

@@peterfranke1978 My grandpa died much too young in Normandy in '44 fighting for the other side. He left a wife and two little boys. Even if it was Captain Moore who shot him, I would salute this man like I would salute my grandpa. It was a time when it was difficult to make your own decisions, no matter which side you were on. CAN WE ALL JUST APPRECIATE SIR CAPTAIN THOMAS MOORE AT AGE 100 HE DONATED ALL THE MONEY HE HAD RAISED FOR THE NHS and yet we have politicians who keep saying the NHS needs more money yet they are not willing to take a pay cut. It is people like Sir Captain Thomas Moore who restore my faith in humanity.

An absolute gentleman that has reminded us of how we should be. This lovely gentleman is now suffering from covid 19 in hospital. I hope that this wonderful human being comes out the other side healthy again. My thoughts are with Sir Captain Tom Moore and his family 💞
