I love your channel..super interesting..you have me glued..I will say there are real psychics..ive had supernatural experiences my entire life..this stuff is real, glad you keep an open mind.
You have no idea how amazing it is to finally have a channel that doesn't clickbait, exaggerate, but is also curious and talks about paranormal and psychics. Your work is a real gem.
I'd say he's more skeptical than curious about paranormal, without mocking the believers. Take the high road, and use facts and reason vs emotion and hyperbole.

Sam's boyfriend devoted so much of his time looking for not only her,but also other missing hikers. He actually found Rachel Lakoduk while he helped find Tom Simonseth up Hidden Lake Trail in Marblemount. He's an amazing person who I hope one day finds closure and peace. While looking for Sam he'd run across people on the trail who didn't know who he was but gossiped to him that they bet her boyfriend (him) killed her. And he just kept going. 😢💔
@@stevenjohnson7086 Yeah, it's heartbreaking. I lived up in Marblemount for 16 years and still live within 60 miles so I keep up on the goings on in those mountains. Misadventure is the cause of these disappearances 9 times out of 10 but that doesn't make it any easier on the families and friends of the missing. Sam's boyfriend has dedicated a lot of time to a lot of these kinds of searches and so eerily found Rachel. Like he was drawn to her. He just seems so connected to something - the ether, the universe, nature... Something.
Just want to say, I started following your channel right before you switched to doing more irl appearances. The insane amount of progress you've made is extremely inspiring. There's literally no other person covering missing persons cases, that goes into so much depth.

Hey brother, I'm a former SAR member from Pittsburgh and a firefighter. I really enjoy your no B.S. channel. If you ever need help on an expedition in the northeast, I would be happy to help. I think finding any missing person should priorty as much as possible. For nothing else than just closure for the familys. Great work, and keep it up someday you might find someone. God Speed...
Unfortunately there are people who may be hiking in the woods and stumble upon some hiking equipment and think to themselves “ooh free backpack” and never report the findings not realizing it could help a missing persons case.
I live near the area and trust me EVERYONE knows about these missing people simply because there are so many of them. The last time I was out there camping, a few years ago, threw were posters in all the small surroundings towns and even on random trees off mountain loop hwy. Sam Sayers is just one of many tragically missing people out there.
@@thatcreepyxmastreeinyourat8950 your average city dweller going out to mountain loop doesn't know about these cases, and even if they do the odds of them connecting the dots and reporting any found gear are pretty slim. I am out there all the time and haven't seen flyers on trees, nor do I usually stop in any of the small towns like Verlot or Silverton. Maybe Granite falls, but I have not noticed any flyers there either. The only place I remember seeing any flyers in the last several years was on an informational sign board near darrington, and the signs weren't even for missing hikers.
@@betterl8thannvrthis is ofc true, but the "average city dweller" stumbling upon something and thinking "free stuff" is a lot more slim vs. someone who is a bit more knowledgeable (or even skeptical) on the likelihoods of why "free stuff" is being stumbled upon.

Too many hikers and sportsmen think they don't need them or refuse to pay the subscription fees that can make them so valuable because they only use them part of the year. I try and urge people to buy them as gifts for their loved ones that spend time outdoors but also pay the subscription fees as a gift to themselves.
What I appreciate about your videos is you take viewers to the location so we can see just how big and inhospitable it is. It’s a visual reminder that something extraordinary like UFOs or Bigfoot aren’t the reason someone won’t be found. They unfortunately got lost is vast, dense wilderness and if anything is found it’s likely going to be by chance.
ANY TIME spent searching for a missing person is NEVER WASTED TIME ! It is a selfless service and I applaud 👏🏻 anyone who spends any amount of time looking for a missing person ❤ Thank You for taking time out of your life to search for Sam, I’m sure the people who love her greatly appreciate it 🩷 such a sad case 💔 RIP Sam, I really hope they find you one day and can bring you home to where you belong ❤
I love that you go out on location. It's easy to think when they find someone in an area "they already searched" to wonder how they could have missed the person...but looking at the terrain...it really just shows how easy it would be to miss someone that was right next to your foot. The under brush, all the trees...no wonder they didn't find her!
This episode reminded me of something I learned when I was a young teenager. We had a spot we liked to go to along the river that if you walked out of your way to a road to get to, took about 15 minutes. We tried by following the most direct route along the edge of the river, it took almost 2 hours. We knew the river led to it but, we almost felt like we were lost because of the amount of time it took to get there. Perceived short cuts can be the death of you I've learned, it's something I have never forgotten.
I did something similar as a boy aged maybe 8 or 9 and ended up hypothermic as the day waned. Hot as blazes at 3:30. Much, much cooler at 6:00, especially since a stiff breeze came up and the sun had transited over the semi-canyon the river was in. When I finally made it to an area I recognized, I was no longer shivering and was getting sluggish and confused. I actually ran out of gas basically within sight of the campsite my family was in. Luckily my dad and oldest brother saw me staggering around a sand bar before falling down and they ran over and more or less carried me to camp. I'd just kind of wandered off to go somewhere maybe 10 minutes away and was gone for 2.5 hours or so. Freaked me out and I've been careful about hiking, camping, and wilderness ever since.
Same thing happened to me in a state park. I came to a fork in the trail, and took what i believed to be the "shorter" way. After a while, I started to think I was lost. Then I was sure I was lost because I should have made it out of the area long ago. Finally I came out in a spot where I recognized the area and knew where I was. I was likely just minutes from making a mistake, going off the trail, and actually getting lost. All because I perceived that it was taking me too long. I had actually just taken the longer route and was never really lost.
I was lost in the woods of northern MN, in December. No supplies, no way to start a fire, cloudy day. It's terrifying. I absolutely knew I was close to a logging road. Had to sit down and think. Looking around I saw a long straight line. It was plowed up snow on the road. 50 yds.
Not panicking probably saved your life, don't let it keep you from enjoying your life and don't let it make you feel invincible either, just keep your head straight and find your way home.
@@jaredpeterson380I’ve been lost in the mountainous woods of Washington in June because snow still covered the trail. (Mt. Baker-snoqualmie) My heart was beating out of my chest I had to learn tracking skills just to find my footprints in the snow to make it back to my car at the trailhead. Definitely a learning experience.
David is full of crap though. Missing Enigma, Lore Lodge, and a couple others have repeatedly proven that he has, at best, greatly exaggerated and left out pertinent information about some cases to make them more "interesting".
I work in an area near the Appalachian trail and stay there in a camper. Your channel inspired me to look up any cases of people who went missing in the area and hike out to their last known location. It’s mostly a morbid excuse to get outside but one reason is as good as another!
You could easily find one of the missing or become one of the missing yourself, but at least you are taking the time to look for others, so i have nothing but respect for you and people like you!
I spent a lot of time voluntarily scanning aerial photos for Sam. My opinion is that she fell down the part of the terrain searchers and LE call "too treacherous to search". There is an almost sheer rock wall on the right of the maps where it is wooded at the bottom. I think she fell into a crevasse and it would take people actually going into them to find her. Barring that, someone took her at her car.
Poor girl imagine if she survived the fall and ultimately died of starvation. For the life of me I don’t get why people still hike alone with so many stories like these out there.
@@lgarla23 Seriously, I have zero interest in climbing mountains as it is, but alone? Never. Not even with a zombie apocalypse. Take my chances with the zombies.
I have no idea how you can go out to these areas alone and not be wary of bears. You’re a brave dude. Great video man I can’t wait for more. You take a really respectful approach to these situations and it’s really awesome to see. Thanks for the videos!
Brown bears are not in the cascades and black bears rarely square off with humans, the thing to be worried about in those woods are Cougars a.k.a. Mountain Lions.
Its fascinating, because you look at that kind of terrain and you just KNOW that no amount of searches can cover everywhere. Someone could be unconscious, unable to call out, and have people walk just metres away from them. People get injured and lost and its so easy to see why. Treacherous. Thanks for taking the time to share with us!
Really valuable video. Often the fact that someone has been looked for and not found leads to speculation, but when you see the actual terrain you start to understand it's nearly impossible to check everywhere. There's too many holes, fallen trees, rocks, caves etc. I guess many missing persons just ended up in such a place that they'll simply not be found
If you hadn’t pointed out you were filming on a phone I wouldn’t have noticed and other people probably wouldn’t either. Don’t feel bad about doing that on these excursions if it means it’s less equipment to pack and carry. Keep up the great work!
You should have way more subscribers. Your no nonsense, fact based research and reporting is refreshing and unfortunately unique. Keep up the great work!
If she realized she was lost and tried to course correct and go off-path, she could literally be anywhere unfortunately. If cadaver dogs couldn’t pick up a scent its unlikely that she will ever be found unfortunately. Only way people off-trail are ever found is usually by hunters who go off trail and stumble upon the remains. I feel terrible for her and her boyfriend who will be unsettled by her memory the rest of his life or until she is found. 🙏
on the peak? no way she confused the ridge she was seen going down with the way up, she was obviously going another way down, a way it turns out she wasn't familiar with.
And i recall in one of the reports the was an area where a small amount of blood was found. And ive never heard anything more about that or not. I would assume they tested it to see if it was hers. Or put it into the database to see if its a match for someone with a prior conviction etc. chances are nothing malicious took place but when its an attractive woman like she was, the chances obviously increase unfortunately.
I just wanted to write a comment to say thank you for all of the work that you do for this channel. I've been a subscriber for a long time, but my wife and I had a daughter around a year ago, and your videos have helped me get through a lot of sleepless nights. I appreciate your dedication to rationality, and I wish you the best for your future!
I always appreciate you going on site because it shows just how difficult the terrain was for both the missing person and the search parties afterwards. It makes it easier to understand how people disappear without a trace
I was born 8000ft ASL in the Rocky Mountains. I know it's environs. I spent 6 years in the Snoqualmie area and it's totally different. I've seen boulders and tree trunks bigger than pickup trucks moved hundreds of yards after each spring runoff. The terrain changes greatly each spring. I dont think a cache of survival gear or treasure could be counted on to be retrieved easily let alone the body or possessions of someone you have no idea where to begin looking. Incredibly beautiful region but constantly changing.
Good point. It's important to consider how vastly these areas change every season. After dozens of heavy rain storms each year it probably looks very different since 2018. Sam's body and belongings are probably buried up there never to be seen again
@jessehutchings it snows around 10 feet. When the sun and rains come in the spring it literally moves trees and rocks the size of semi tractor trailers for blocks. I could never repeat the same camp spot twice in one summer.
I know your videos take time because you put so much into them, so you can’t post every week, but I do get very excited when you post because of the quality. I hope your viewership grows. This is the best missing person channel.
Being able to see the terrain makes you realize that even if you had hundreds of searchers, finding anything would require a lot of luck. Thank you for another excellent video.

Hey I’m only 17 minutes in but want to thank you for not only as usual, all of your research, editing, real world, exploration, and dedication to these topics. But, I think what’s not talked about enough is your sensibility to keep an open mind on things and different possible explanations for why people are going missing in any given situation! even if you tell us that it’s not something you normally would believe in, you treat the idea the victim and everything around it with the upmost respect, in my humble opinion anyway. I read a ton about this case a few months after she went missing. I'm 90%+ convinced she fell off the mountain. Her cell phone last pinged in the Stony Creek basin, which makes sense given that the last person who saw her said she was west of the summit and walking in the direction of Spada Lake. I theorize she was probably looking for a place to discreetly go to the bathroom before returning to the trail, and she headed south towards a stand of trees, but didn't realize how steep the terrain was there. The presence of trees might have given her the false sense that the terrain was level, but some of the trees she saw might have been growing out of a 60 degree slope. Also, even though it was August there was still snow on the ground, which (in addition to being slippery) would further obscure how steep the terrain was. ALSO: I remember reading a police report years ago that stated search dogs "alerted" in the area I'm talking about, but the search was called off because it was too dangerous, and I thought "No sh*t it's dangerous: this is where she walked off the mountain."
Some folks seem to have prophetic abilities. I am reminded of Jacob Dibert's dream, so poignantly told in Allison Krauss' song, "Jacob's Dream". In 1856, Dibert had recurring dreams about two missing children and told his family of the details he'd seen in the dream: a dead deer, a fallen tree, and a lost shoe in a ravine. A family member recognized the spot and went there and found the children deceased. They'd crossed a stream and the area had been neglected to search, as no one believed the children could cross the waters. And there's a point there as well: people do the impossible, searches focus on areas of high probability, and so often, the lost are found in areas deemed unlikely or at such a distance covered as to be improbable. Great video, thanks for the work you do.
Awesome video! Thank you for taking the time to do the searching, and thank you for not giving the psychics name or details. Not giving their details will cut down a lot on the random psychics you get you I think. I truly believe that yours is the best and most thorough missing person channel on the Internet by far
You are correct. It's not a waste of time. Sam died in that area. No one has found her. Her remains are still out there. Searching for her is not a waste of time

I used to live in that area and watching this video really made me miss it. I feel terrible for Sam and the people who love her. I hope she is found and brought home to her family and laid to rest finally.
Same...lived in Bellingham. The drive, alone, to the Mt. Baker Wilderness is epic. Hiking on Mt. Baker is wonderful, but there are many "trails" that disappear, then reappear. I began hiking one such trail, and when l lost it, thought better of it, and turned around. From then on, l stuck to well marked trails that LOOK like trails.
I always get so hyped when a new video comes out. I mean, it's obviously very sad subject matter, and my heart breaks for the missing people you cover, but your channel is one of my favourites.
Great work. It drives home the point to me that when 'Missing 411' style cases emphasize that bodies are located in areas where searchers had already previously searched, that these claims needs to be taken with a large grain of salt. Even with the best of intentions, people have a natural tendency to cut corners and take the path of least resistance. So, looking under a few rocks, in a few hollow trees in a certain area could easily be marked off as 'searched extensively' when you report back to HQ. And if for no other reason than that the searchers on the ground came to the realization that the terrain and foliage meant it was physically impossible to do a search in the area thoroughly but didn't wanted other searchers to feel obliged to go back there and 'do it properly' because of their apparent laziness or incompetence.
Paulides actually contradicts himself on this subject. One of his 'profile points' is that a person is found in a previous searched area, which he protrays as 'weird' or 'mysterious' to his audience, yet the guy will come out and say that sometimes it takes several searches to find something in any particular area. And in some instances, he just outright lies about the searches performed.
This video just shows how hard it is to find missing people! The terrain is so dense and/or steep and treacherous, that you could quite easily walk past someones remains.
She posted photos of herself climbing in sports bras. The day she went missing she made a post asking people to go with her and posted time and place where she would be, even the type of car she would be driving. No people don't randomly kidnap people off of the mountain, but if sickos know where your going to be, and when you will be there, and you have an online presence, it opens a whole can of worms up for your safety
@@dsera2721 Doesn't mean some sicko who didn't like it couldn't have seen it, unfortunately. My feeling is that it's more likely that she just had bad luck getting lost or a bad fall, though. It certainly looked like plenty traitorous terrain.

Out of the hundreds of thousands bogus t.v shows & podcasts with full networks behind them, just for them to suck & not deliver on what they claim. Meanwhile, 1 man with 2 first names out here CRUSHING. Spends so much time working on his craft. Spends quality time with us, putting his genuine thoughts on wax for us. The only bad thing about the missing enigma is that it's not able to upload at a high rate. However, 1 high quality & riveting video every other week beats 3 uploads a week on another channel that's essentially copy & pasted work from somewhere else. My favorite aspect to Chris Kyle is that he goes out of his way to do his own research about cases even when he truly doesn't have to. It's authentic & genuine & I'll always be here for you regardless of the upload consistency or lack there of!
Your dedication and ability to traverse the places you do amazes me. Having heard Sam Sayers' story before, I was under the impression that she might have wandered off of a nice graded dirt trail. To see an actual area where she may have been hiking was eye opening because I know it takes a certain amount of skill and hiking experience to scrabble through an area or trail like that. Being lost in such a place would suck. Having a GPS and PLB with you... as my son would say, "Respect."

Wow. That is some incredibly daunting terrain. I couldn't find 10 Sasquatch whistling dixie in that! I am not sure it's possible to find a person in that mess. How you narrate the story of what could have happend to the individuals involved in the cases is very respectful and intimate because you even went your way to these locations. I salute you man.
It might be an idea for you to create a 2nd channel where you upload unedited footage of your search, if you are to do it again. No doubt there will be people watching them, looking for anything you may miss.
This really highlights that just because an area has been searched doesn't mean there's nothing there. Even a super tight gridsearch could miss a person in terrain like this.

You really bring so much to the table with these on location videos! It's so easy to think why couldn't X person be found, they were so close to this that or the other. Actually seeing the terrain makes a lot of missing 411 type cases make a lot more sense....
I will never understand what propels women to ignore the perils of hiking alone. The dangers are too great. A woman alone in the woods signals “potential victim” to human predators. Even if a man doesn’t go into the woods intending to find a woman to victimize, it’s not out of the question that he ends up doing just that obeying some primeval predatory instinct. Not saying this is what happened in this case, but on top of becoming lost or getting injured, it’s a possibility that shouldn’t be totally discounted.

Something.
Wow, its really messed up people said that to him, not even thinking that he could be the boyfriend. People are cruel. I hope he finds peace.

When you talk about a search area it seems so simple and when you arrive the terrain quickly becomes overwhelming. Stay safe out there Nikolas.
I hope everyone who tries this marks the maps for where they searched. She'll probably be found by accident by hikers, if ever.
Oh Yeah......
So true. Maps are great for getting a general sense of things, but never clues you in to the true difficulty of the area.
Your right and most people are found by chance by hikers and hunters. Its amazing what you find when you look for something else
Ngl I was still hoping he'd find evidence of Bigfoot lmao

People just don’t understand how thick and difficult to search the woods can be. It’s so easy to miss things.
@Kingdok10 A scary part of the story was the fact that everyone knew where I was. All I had to do was wait it out. Panic doesn't use logic.
@@jaredpeterson380I’ve been lost in the mountainous woods of Washington in June because snow still covered the trail. (Mt. By far and away the best ‘missing 411’ channel on UA-cam… and honestly, the only one that’s worth a damn

Scary
Poor girl imagine if she survived the fall and ultimately died of starvation. For the life of me I don’t get why people still hike alone with so many stories like these out there.

Brown bears are not in the cascades and black bears rarely square off with humans, the thing to be worried about in those woods are Cougars a.k.a. Mountain Lions.
@ oh I had no idea. I live in Canada and up here we have TONS of grizzlies. I assumed it was similar down there. Makes much more sense.
Man, this REALLY puts in perspective how difficult it is to look through pine forest.

Spring, after the snow melts, would be the best time to search before all the greenery grows.
There are so many stories of people who've gone missing eventually being found so far away from the area they were expected to be in.
on the peak? no way she confused the ridge she was seen going down with the way up, she was obviously going another way down, a way it turns out she wasn't familiar with.

Not a chance
Incredible work, man. This one got me emotional for some reason. Thanks for your persistence.
Missing the vids brother, hope all is well.

Perfect music added. Wonderfully done.
Does anyone know whats happened to Missing Enigma? Its been some time since a new program.
Always find this case mystifying....great you are covering it in your way.....fantastic channel with the added joy of your artwork.
I started watching your channel while I was looking for the Yuba-five case. Already a lot of ppl said this on the comments, but I really like your tone of delivery, no clickbaits, no red eyes and the thorough research you put into each case. I'm looking forward to your future videos
Great episode, love the practical approach
It’s not a waste of time! The video itself is raising awareness but getting out there yourself is inspiring! Thank you for your content!
Wow. That is some incredibly daunting terrain. I couldn't find 10 Sasquatch whistling dixie in that! I am not sure it's possible to find a person in that mess. It would be a miracle at this point in time. But even a shoe or one bone would end the mystery of her location. But Nick, bring some people with you next time. You are making me nervous!!!!
Love love love your videos. This is my favorite you tube channel. I live in Washington and I hike the cascades all the time. You are right it’s so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this story. ❤
I love you and everything you do! It was really neat to see the actual area and it makes me feel like I can understand better what Sam and the searches faced. It truly brings it all to life and I pray her friends and loved ones can have some closure someday. God bless you!
I like the water sounds.
I love that you always look at these cases rationally and calmly and exclude the outlandish explanations.
Wow, the ground in that forest is a mess!! Dang.
Don’t get out much do U!
This really highlights that just because an area has been searched doesn't mean there's nothing there. Even a super tight gridsearch could miss a person in terrain like this.
no this case...she is long gone
I want to thank you for at least making the effort to help search for this missing young lady. I have mad respect for that. Doing the research alone is allot of work but you took it that good step forward. Keep up the great work been a long time subscriber love your videos! Very professional!
Not saying this is what happened in this case, but on top of becoming lost or getting injured, it’s a possibility that shouldn’t be totally discounted.
hey, it’s been a while since your last video. i hope everything is going well on your end. your videos always brighten my day! if you’re taking a break, i hope you’re enjoying the time off. just let us know you’re doing okay-sending some life signals would put us all at ease. take care!

You are well spoken, compassionate, and a talented filmmaker. God bless you and I pray he keeps you safe out there as you help bring answers and closures to the mysteries of the disappeared.❤
Holy crow, that is some dense rugged country!
