Looking back I've seen where a lack of this led to bad decisions, but from marriage to fatherhood helps to push back on lazy thinking once you accept the challenge. Good one Conor 👏
Thanks Conor. I’ve noticed the habit of journalling coming up in a a few of your videos. It would be great to have a post on exactly how you structure your thinking through writing. This could be through examples of some of the questions you ask yourself and the process you go through. Just a suggestion and thanks for taking the time to put all this great content out for free.
Great stuff, Conor. I notice when I'm tired (late afternoons and evenings) or just plain worn out, my thinking gets black and white and is usually very unhelpful. My classic lazy thinking is falsely believing that because I didn't accomplish all 10 or 15 items on my to-do list, that means I didn't succeed that day. I try to use my mornings, when I'm sharpest, to do that type of journaling you mentioned, and then I use that clear thinking and momentum to plan my day and take action.
Dan Sullivan describes 2 types of freedom - freedom from and freedom to... "freedom from" is that you don't "have to" do anything... "freedom to" is the freedom to dedicate and commit yourself to a cause that is important to you
@@ConorNeill Yes, I see the idea :) Thanks for taking that time to answer me ... I must tell that you are my main reference when I want to motivate my audience ! Your simplicity and your humanity is a real inspiration to me ! Thanks again for your generosity ...
wow... now that is a whole new video in itself!!! good perspective... how to spot when others are living in fantasy thinking... I love it when people say "no" or are conscious about their capacity (skill, time and motivation) to deliver on their promises
i can't stand when youtubers say "quit your job". Well, are they going to pay my bills? I agree, Incrementalism is the way. I know people who have told me for years what they'll do, and i tell them to just let me know when they do it, and stop telling me about it. They get angry at me, but the fact is that they never do what they said they would.
Just by reading the title i know I am guilty of it way too much than i could say, I call it the Walter Mitty effect (~fantasy thinking) good movie tho 😅
I tuned out when you used a casino owner as a positive example. Exploiting other people's vulnerabilities and gambling addiction is not my idea of a positive role model.

I love this! I believe that a perspective of positivity will literally blind you to any negativity!
Positivity is great... except when it means you ignore the signs of decay
@@ConorNeill very true! Thanks!
Cheers Conor, timely and pragmattic input.

Lazy thinking is something I have when I’m tire . Nice view .
You and me both... stress, tiredness, being in a rush... all reduce quality of thinking
Thank you conor, it was a great reflection ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lazy thinking by people you depend on can really mess up your life.
