On Tony ortegas website you’ll find a war diary of a naval officer that transited with 85 guys and Hubbard. Hubbard was prominently mentioned as acting like a complete ass during the whole trip.
An excellent interviewer. LRH was put on the spot many times and although he trotted out his usual plastic smile, you could see that he was none too pleased to be challenged. Anyone else within the group who questioned him would be severely punished, as is recorded in many places.
When a person lies they invariably give themselves away through externally readable movements and gestures. Among these are eye movements. If you watch LRH, when he is asked an 'uncomfortable' question he looks down and to the right, this is a indicator of using his imagination and internal dialogue to try and answer the 'awkward' question. When one is accessing their memory, i.e telling the truth they tend to look up and to the left.
"Knowing-ness"? "Out-ness"? It's no wonder the interviewing got nothing from Hubbard's explanation. And for all of his money, he was awful shy of the dentist.
If you read Jon Atack's "A Piece of Blue Sky" - a really great book about Hubbard - you get the impression that LRH did have a positive side, where he was able to impress some people with his personality - and his original book Dianetics was a good read. He seems to have severely lost his marbles at some point and he was also a serial, terrible liar and ridiculous exaggerator about his own achievements. On Tony ortegas website you’ll find a war diary of a naval officer that transited with 85 guys and Hubbard. Hubbard was prominently mentioned as acting like a complete ass during the whole trip.
An excellent interviewer. LRH was put on the spot many times and although he trotted out his usual plastic smile, you could see that he was none too pleased to be challenged. Anyone else within the group who questioned him would be severely punished, as is recorded in many places.
The evil smile he gives off is like that of some religious "healer" grifter.
Like how were they punished? He seems like a nice guy, what would he do to you if you disobeyed an order?
When a person lies they invariably give themselves away through externally readable movements and gestures. Among these are eye movements. If you watch LRH, when he is asked an 'uncomfortable' question he looks down and to the right, this is a indicator of using his imagination and internal dialogue to try and answer the 'awkward' question. When one is accessing their memory, i.e telling the truth they tend to look up and to the left.
"Knowing-ness"? "Out-ness"? It's no wonder the interviewing got nothing from Hubbard's explanation. And for all of his money, he was awful shy of the dentist.

If you read Jon Atack's "A Piece of Blue Sky" - a really great book about Hubbard - you get the impression that LRH did have a positive side, where he was able to impress some people with his personality - and his original book Dianetics was a good read. He seems to have severely lost his marbles at some point and he was also a serial, terrible liar and ridiculous exaggerator about his own achievements. Like all good con men, he made people believe the package.

This video is a most revealing look into the mind of the madman named L. Ron Hubbard. If I had had has the opportunity to see this film in the late 70's, before I became a member of scientology, I know I would not have invested the nearly 20 years of my life I gave him in practicing, defending and protecting his pseudoscience so unworthy of my unquestioning loyality.
