  • Опубліковано 8 сер 2024
  • VIDEO DESCRIPTION - This painting tutorial will take you through easy to follow, step-by-step instructions on how to paint this dramatic exciting stormy landscape image of "LIGHTNING OVER MOUNTAINS" with an energetic mystical feel and realistic look to it. You’ll learn how to paint this country scene with inspirational imagery and electricity emerging from the dark cloud and striking the top of the hills. Learn how to use simple painting techniques for blending the background for added depth and atmospheric dimension. You can personalize the type of trees, type of landscape, or colors, to symbolize your favorite place, time of year, or location. Maybe you paint a winter scene with snow-capped mountains, or a fall scene with autumn leaves on the distant trees, or a summer image with green grass on rolling hills, perhaps you could add stars or a bright moon to the sky. The silhouetted foreground will make the viewer feel like they are perched on top of a cliffside peering down into the stormy valley. You could paint a silhouette of anything in the foreground, a man, woman, child, dog, bench, lamp post, swing, or even a horse! This is a painting inspired by the power of Mother Nature and the energy she possess, so let your creative energy help make this image unique to you! Let the mist and fog in the valleys be soft and tranquil as the rain beats down from the black cloud into the atmosphere while the bolts of lightning cast a vibrant glow and illuminate the sky with it's electricity. You’ll learn how to add a progression of thin layers to create the illusion of the lightning with a scrubbing, or scumbling, technique that will create a 3D effect like a photograph. The painting will come to life with the action of the small volts of light coming out in various directions, similar to tree branches, which will show how the energy travels through the air. The dark moody colors will bring cohesion and harmony, creating a symphony of illuminating glows surrounding the focal point. You’ll learn to paint a realistic looking storm cloud that pops with energy, a glowing sky that has atmospheric dimension and a stunning thunderstorm sky that has realistic colors and dramatic affects. Influenced by the power of nature, it's noises, and it's visual beauty, this painting becomes a symbol and display of the mighty strength of the atmosphere. You'll learn to paint this captivating landscape with depth, contrast and natural colors that will produce an image that is inspirational, beautiful, and jam packed with useful painting tips! Using only 2 brushes and 5 colors we'll create this conversational masterpiece that is sure to compliment any décor. So let's get painting and let's get sipping!

I dont think anyone else teaches quite as well as you do!! With step by step instructions and explanations of why to do or not do something. There are no mistakes in art. Just adjust the color or the colors around it. Or simply let dry and repaint it!! Thank you Michelle for teaching me how to become the painter I've always wanted to be 🥰

some of my favorite night photographs i have ever seen taken of locomotives are from night either with fireworks or lightning in the background, so this one is really cool. i am glad to see how simple lightning is, no matter what level of realism you want to take it to. thank you for this one.

When I first started painting, (it was around 2015), I don't know how many times I gave up, when the painting was just in the "ugly" stage , not knowing I could just tweak it here or there and it would be to my liking!!! Sometimes we just have better painting days than others. If it isn't working out right, put it aside and wait until another day. Thank you so much for teaching us your skills and knowledge! We love you Michelle!!!❤❤❤❤❤

Hey girl I sketch and your channel has given me hope to start to paint again for years I felt that I was not allowed to paint because it had to be so close to the *REAL THING* but this channel opens up a *WHOLE* new way for me so thanks my grandmother painted *KATIE* and they told me she painted Katie in a way that you would never ever see her face *Celia Davidson* I was given up for adoption at six months of age and finding out my grandmother was an artist while finding out about my biological family I always thought that maybe she did this because of the child that was given up for adoption ME and Katie was *me* who knows right

Hi Michelle. I've recently taken up painting as a hobby and have been following another artist on UA-cam. A friend recommended watching your tutorials and I'm so glad I found you. This is my first painting of yours that I've done and I'm thrilled with how it turned out! I'm planning on doing one of your cardinal paintings next as a gift for a friend of mine. I wish there was a way for me to show you how mine turned out but I can't seem to find that option. But thanks for the tutorial! I'm looking forward to doing more of your paintings.

Hi Lee, I'm happy that you're enjoying my videos. For these tutorials I'm using a thin bodied student grade paint from Blick Materials called Blickrylics. They don't have the best pigment, but I like the consistency for layering and blending affects. I sell small sample sizes of the colors I use on my website (link below) if you want to try them before you invest in the larger bottles.
