Love it too. Sometimes he makes me think of Soupy Sales puppet, POOKIE. If POOKIE sang he'd sound like Boz. No Shade benn lovin' him since the '70s. Harbor Lights? who remembers?
Saw Boz in ‘76. The back up band was Toto! Silk Degrees was just coming out. Fleetwood Mac & the Eagles played after! What a day / night it was! It was also mt 20th Birthday!
That is simply stunning. We are very close to a time when music such as this will never be seen again. There will only be beautiful memories of the great times when people like this existed.
@@M123OCT It's not fair to compare anyone to Steely Dan. But they didn't find their groove right away either. There early stuff was not so great. @@jeanmarielieb9127 The older I get, the more I look back, because much of contemporary music is computer-based, auto-tuned, quantized and completely lacking any soul, any substance, any meaning. I quite like what Bruno Mars is doing with Silk Sonic (but, ironically, that is almost a complete recreation of a sound from the '60s). I don't hear anything produced right now that will still be listened to in 50 years, 100 years, unless there is a total reversal in music back to a more organic form, with melody, and harmony, and real skill. I keep coming back to this concert because the combination of these 3 singular talents really is a stunning offering, and it pays off especially on songs like "Miss Sun". Each one of these guys brings their own "flavor" and yet there's a strong blues/jazz/funk infusion throughout it all
I love to hear Boz play and sing . . . and then when Monet sings along . . . it is just great . . . and of course the whole group, the Dukes of September, what talent on that stage . . . Michael McDonald and Donald Fagen; not much else to say: They are awesome . . . Thanks for sharing the video.

Ooooohhhh soooooo smoooooth Sir Boz. A-Mazing groove! This song - and all Dukes of September (love that band name!) songs - are my happy place. Thank you, so respectfully, Dukes❣️❣️❣️
The thing that is so perfect is how everyone sounds TOGETHER. It is a perfect ego-free performance of a great song. Such awesome musicians -- the three legends and everyone else too.
Particularly cool: that Boz, Donald, and Michael didn't just take turns fronting the band. They buckled down and put the work into knowing each others' songs - knowing the chords and the lines and the harmony vocals. Or at least Boz and Michael knew the harmonies; you wouldn't really want to hear Donald singing. Except on Steely Dan songs, for which his voice is perfect.

I come back every now and again, to this 2012 concert just to hear Boz and Miss Monet belt this thing out! I absolutely love everything about this Dukes arrangement, it reaches right down into my soul. Yes Sir.
Funny you mention speakers . My old B&W s had a protection circuit . I remember them shutting down on Dinah Flo! I’m not kidding🎸! I also over loaded a Radio Shack reciever playing CCR’s Born on the bayou ! Good times!

The entire concert of the Dukes of September songs along with videos got me through an incredibly tough time last year. Grateful for Don, Boz and Mike…..

Heard this song in a Sicilian Cafe while listening to steely dan, thought it was interesting, and looked it up when I got home. Then I see Donald Fagen playing piano with Boz..? Respect
what an amazing guitar solo by Boz Scaggs, what was originally a keyboard solo on the album version - together with Monet covering fro Lisa Dal Bello, and the rest of the talented band , Donald Fagen, Mike McDonald, Jon Herington. That wah wah guitar sound is amazing.
Just for the record, the song was composed by a bunch of talented (and this is an understatement) 19 yo kids who had just formed a band called...TOTO. Check out their version please. Fagen, McDonald and Box, pure gold right there.
I discovered this Video during Covid and played almost daily and still do so at least weekly. Love Michael but Box steals the show. Sun and Low Down are superb and Boz guitar wizardry equals his vocal mastery !
I just remembered why Silk Degrees was so awesome.

Yes and he's a perfectionist.
The groove is sooo laid-back, it all fits brilliantly!
Donald's truly enjoying this song.
What I hear in Bozs voice now is a new soulfulness. Little huskier too. Boz still aounds superb. Always loved Boz Scaggs voice. Always will.
