You have such a gift for teaching. The detail in the instructions is unmatched to anything baking I've watched recently. All basis covered, from mundane to the very essentials. Truly a cooking masterclass.
I know. It’s like the sirens luring me into the rocks. She is deceptively skilled. For some reason I have an urge to construct this upside down in a bowl.
I'm semi sweedish but not a sweet tooth more beer and meat kinds guy.... However, it is pretty good for a none desert type very rich and creamy... I made one it looked awful like something like Shrek swamp cake but tasted amazing.
You become better and better as instructing as time goes by. This Princess Cake is beautiful and I can’t wait to give it a try from start to finish! It is also my birthday cake of choice. I really appreciate and enjoy the time watching your videos. The recipes that I’ve tried have been spot on and enjoyed by many.
I love to bake and sometimes treat my neighbors so yesterday I treated my neighbor with my homemade blueberry lemon cake which she loved and then she asked if I ever made Princess cake, I said never heard of it, she said its very delicious as well so I searched and found this recipe. Interesting recipe, I really like it, instructions are clear and simple to follow. This is my next cake to make in April. Thank you so much for a great video! Liked and subscribed!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My first piece of Princess cake was for my birthday during my first trip to Sweden. It is indeed a perfect birthday cake :) I was thinking about making it myself for quite a long time, guess it's the sign to finally do it!
Thanks for the video. I just made this today for the first time. On the assembly of your written recipe, you might want to add between #11 and #12 to add the reserved whipped cream. I knew something was wrong when I didn't see what to do with the rest of the reserved cream. Can't wait to try the cake tonight.
Glad you did it again. The first edition was a bit simplistic. This time you are a true pro. I have never tried this cake since in Virginia we don’t have a Swedish bakery.
Can’t wait to make this! I have found a shop locally that makes them but they aren’t quite as good here in Canada as they were in Goteborg! ❤ tack så mycket
I baked a good bit in my younger years but haven't ar all lately and never had this kind of cake. Yours is a beautiful cake and appears to take a good amount of work!
Really good recipe and video Cecilia! I struggled getting the marzipan to roll out enough so I ended u just draping it over the cake, so I had problems at the bottom of mine. I think the next time I will make more marzipan so I will have more to work with.
What a coincidence! I had already made the cake and had just put it into the fridge following your older recipe when you uploaded this one. Fortunately that was the test cake and now I will follow along this one instead, although I will still use the storebought marzipan.
This was my 3rd time making princess cake, and I have to say your recipe turns out the best! I’m so happy with the outcome and how it looks. I skipped a step and just bought raspberries jam instead of making it. I did have to bake the cake a little bit longer, until a wooden skewer comes out clean. And now I’m having egg whites omelette for days 😂
Thank you for a great video, I made the cake twice and it came out very good , have some problems keeping the dome ,can I put it in the freezer for an hour before the marzipan goes on? I probably need to make the diplomat a bit thicker. Thanks Cecilia. Gunilla
Please can you explain the addition of egg yolks in base layer cake and why the heating step is required. Jag har 2 sessor som älskar marsipan så det blir ’projekt hemlagad prinsesstårta’ för mig minst 2ggr om året. Kram
Your tårta looks good and all, however, a real prinsesstårta (aka grön tårta) has no sylt/jam. With sylt, it becomes an operatårta. Also the marsipan (swedish spelling) should not be folded.
You have such a gift for teaching. The detail in the instructions is unmatched to anything baking I've watched recently. All basis covered, from mundane to the very essentials. Truly a cooking masterclass.
This looks very tricky, with lots of opportunities for disaster. Which means I’ll eventually make one.
I know. It’s like the sirens luring me into the rocks. She is deceptively skilled. For some reason I have an urge to construct this upside down in a bowl.
@@Whatizzit that's actually very smart but also a recepie for disaster

Agree, have watched for over a year and the videos have always been a pleasure to watch but these days they are sensational!!

Thank you for the feedback! Didn’t realize I had written it that way :)
@ceciliatolone , please tell us if it is right: 4 eggs + 4 yolks and only 140 gr sugar and 140 gr wheat? Thanks a lot!
I believe that a baker at the L.A. Farmers Market (next to The Grove) still makes Prinsesstårta, sold whole or by the slice.
Thank you so much! For my first time, it turned out beautifully! Much Love from a Canadian Swede

Du är sååå duktig!! Älskar dina videor. Tack för inspirationen

I was looking for an easy recipe less terrifying steps, I couldn’t find better than yours it looks delicious perfectly well done thank you.
Can’t wait to make this! I have found a shop locally that makes them but they aren’t quite as good here in Canada as they were in Goteborg! ❤ tack så mycket
Perfectly presented easy to follow! Thank you!
That was just lovely!
I have never heard of this cake before, thanks to you I want to have some, either make my own or find a good bakery perhaps in Sweden!!

Omg I love you in your 1st Princess Cake tutorial! ❤ That video is a chef's 😘.
I’m glad you like the first video! I always felt like it was so long 😅😅

Waouh ! My cake 😂
Lovely ❤
Nicely done the cake sounds amazing. Just one helpful hint replace the phrase of “good enough” with something like “perfect”.
oh my! I've always wanted to try and make this recipe! I'm glad you're sharing it! thank you : ) yours look fantastic!
Thaaaaank you 🌸🌸🌸

How long beforehand can I do the cake? I want to make it for a birthday, but want to do it the day before. Is that ok? How do I store it? Thank you!
I would appreciate information about making this in advance also. Great video!
Snyggt !!
What is your opinion on using a regular Swedish spongecake instead of the one you are using?
❤ yum - thank you
Can this be put in a fridge will the marzipan get wet n sticky and soft ❤
Definitely stock it in the fridge. The marzipan will only start to get sticky after about 48hours

Just a question on the baking temps... is it 175c fan or convention oven?

I watched this wondering if Cecilia was Swedish or American…
When she decorated the base I knew for sure 🇺🇸 😂
😂😂😂 you caught me
PLEASE!!!! Subtitulos en Español.. Gracias. 🌷🌷💖💜💖💜💖
Cake on 4:56
I really wish someone would make this recipe and let me know. Lol
Did anyone's marzipan turn out really melty and hard to knead when mixing in the color?
Man baking is easy. Just follow the recipe and steps in this video and you’re fine
Hinga dinga durgen!
“Add about half a cup of pastry cream to a bowl”
*adds about 2 cups*
