    Micro T rigs are so underrated. It can catch great fish and in places you would be scared to fish with a normal jig head. One bait I’ve found a ton of fun with is the Zman Larvaz on a size 10 EWG. It’s not easy to find but if you can it slays. I think Varivas has a tiny EWG too that would work.

      @@FishAnything Yep, I have them both (Nasci & Sedona) and agree the Nasci is a definite upgrade. I have the Sedona 1000 on my TFO Trout-Panfish 6'-6" UL, it seems like a good pairing for that rod. The Nasci's are on St. Croix Mojo Bass rods and are a great match for that series. I have an unpaired Daiwa Fuego LT1000D and have had my eye on the Dobyns Sierra Trout & Panfish as a possible mate. The Daiwa Fuego is lighter than the Nasci by a 1/2 ounce... do you think it would balance well with the Dobyns 6'-2" 1-piece?

    How can't you land the bigger fish with your ultralight, I can easily land 20 lb plus rainbow trout with my 7ft 0-5gram set up and my micro jigs are less than 1inch on a size 14 hook

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  Рік тому

      I absolutely can land larger fish with it, and have many times. What I was saying is that I will not actively target large bass with ultralight. Reason being is I don't want to over-tire the fish if I can avoid it. Fighting them for too long can cause delayed mortality issues so it is best to use the size appropriate gear for the fish you are after.

    How do you like the Nusci? I felt disappointed when I bought mine. It’s a good reel don’t get me wrong, great in fact; however, I also have the Quantum Throttle size 10 ($50) and honestly it feels just as nice. I was expecting a huge jump in quality with it being a $100 Shimano and it wasn’t. Again, it’s a great reel but if I can spent $50 less for the same quality then I’ll stick with the Quantum. I’ll probably still keep it because I do like it a lot. The Nusci drag sounds really good too. And I love a good sounding drag.

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  Рік тому

      I like the Nasci. The only annoying thing I have noticed is that my braid sometimes gets stuck in the little cracks where the reel handle parts attach. Otherwise, it performs really well.
      To your point... Spinning reels can be difficult to notice major quality differences because they are all generally the same thing. The higher quality parts typically help with how long the reel will last and what it will hold up to. The Nasci is saltwater sealed so it should be very corrosion resistant and should be able to go through a lot of junk for you. The lower priced reels may start to gunk up quicker.

    • @Tightt88
      @Tightt88 Рік тому

      @@FishAnything I do like the sealed aspect of the Nusci; however, as a fresh water angler I am not too concerned about it. Additionally, spinning reel internals are very important. I have been doing a lot research into this topic. Did you know zinc alloy gears are 2.5 times strong than aluminum gears? So if you want a spinning reel that will last longer and hold up to larger fish, zinc alloy is better. If you want lighter gears that absorb the gears impacting each other (smoother feel) than aluminum is what you want. Me personally, I’ll take zinc alloy and I make sure there is just a little extra grease on the gears to help absorb the gear impact. I just think it’s crazy how zinc alloy is used for sub $100 reels when it’s actually stronger. I guess people care more about lightness and smoothness over strength.

    • @Tightt88
      @Tightt88 Рік тому

      @@FishAnything also, I am keeping the Nusci. I do like it a lot.
