Great ultralight video Ethan. Looked like a blast, the same one we had Saturday before the cold front pushed through the Chicago area. Lots of healthy bass but no giants. It's getting fun, just need the weather to stabilize. It's ultralight and light action time brother!!
I’ve been fishing micro craws for a few years now and I do like them. I don’t know if I have any with the flappy claws though. Definitely want to try it.

Got a bigger order lined up I'm hoping to get the cash for before late June where I've got a really nice friendly derby at a private stocked pond (bass, catfish, perch, bluegill, etc) that I know has so.e.savage bluegill and perch bite. We'll see, if not I'll still post a update using the black horsefly and 1/80/1/64 mule jig, got a feelin it's gonna rock out there!

Been waiting for these!!! Ordered even before I watched the video! Yes sir! My Spring time Mule jig and soft plastic order should be here tomorrow, but I'm even more excited to get these crawfish! The others were basically replacements / backup stock. I must say I've never caught a fish on a drop shot of any size, but I'm gonna try the micro drop shot rig with the craws as soon as I get them. I fish a very grassy bottom pond in NC so I'm hoping that will be the trick that works now that it's starting to grow again. It was 84 degrees today! What happened to SPRING???
@@FishAnything I mostly fish in an "old" pond where the fishing has gone from Bass in the 5 - 9 lb. range several years ago, to if and when you do catch bass, they are 1/2 - 3/4 lb. average. I mostly pan fish fish it with ultra lite gear now. My first 5 casts with the Horsefly on a 1/64 oz. mule jig produced two crappie. I caught two bluegill and one crappie on the craw, but only after switching from the drop shot to the 1/64 oz. jig head. The fishing has just been really slow partially due to the nature of the pond and partially because of our NC weather. It's so up and down right now. We went from a couple of days with highs of 80 degrees back down to 40 - 45 degree lows at night and 60 -63 degree highs during the day. It's crazy! Bluegill and Bass moved onto beds for 2 - 3 days, then they left. I'm still waiting to catch my first drop shot fish. I dd make a really cool catch for my first Mule Minnow 1.2 fish. 1/64 oz. mule jig with the Dakota Sunrise 1.2". A White Perch! Slammed it! It was the last fish of a 5 fish 5 hour day! Fished the drop shot for about an hour and a half then went to the 1/64 oz. mule jig head. 2 bluegill, 2 crappie, and the white perch. Blessings!

Thanks guys, yeah I’ve got several videos but here’s a few to help. First, it all kind of depends on your definition of “affordable” because that can certainly vary for each individual. The shakespeare micro series rod is like $20 and works just fine, but stepping it up to the $50 price range, I loved my 13 fishing defy silver. My general rule of thumb is to buy a shimano or Daiwa 1000 size reel in my range. A sienna 1000 is just fine and it’s super budget friendly.

You can use with other jigs too! I designed the keepers on Mule gear to hold the Mule baits on well but as long as the hook size is around a 4-6 you’ll be fine

Zman Makes a lil finesse crayfish. I rip big river smallies on it this time of year. Zman also has a smaller bait called the crustation imitation...lol super fun to throw for dinks and river smallies no big bass on yet but i hooked a giant muskey on it a few years ago. watched him cruse up to it and slurp it in....didnt land him but he towed my yak around for a while. I primarily bfs fish rivers . I just had your donkey jrs out the other day for stocker trout. I'll defintley be adding this to the rotation. especially since your going to have it in ranch hand. Brown pumpkin colors dominate rnd my way. Do you make your jigs? my 16th ounce do it mold always leave my heads loose??

Fishing only requires patience for people who only fish a set rig. The kind of fishing that most of us do is more akin to hunting. I also just think there is something more sporting about fooling a predator to attack an object that you are using to imitate the behavior of prey than it is to drop a ball of food with a hook in it and hope that something eats it. The activity of working the presentation is amusing on it's own.

@@CatchReleaseRepeat I don’t catch many rock bass, but I live for the redeye bass. Did the mobile basin redeye slam last year on Mule plastics, and plan on it again this year.

Fishing only requires patience for people who only fish a set rig. The kind of fishing that most of us do is more akin to hunting. I also just think there is something more sporting about fooling a predator to attack an object that you are using to imitate the behavior of prey than it is to drop a ball of food with a hook in it and hope that something eats it. The activity of working the presentation is amusing on it's own.
Sounds to me like we have a very similar perspective :)
