I've had really good luck with the Pathfinder A/T tires from Discount tire. It's their house brand, but they're made by Hankook. Super durable, have been reliable for the last 20k miles and I tow here and there. I paid less than $900 out the door. Rotate them as necessary and you'll be set for at least 50,000 miles. Highly recommend.
I just had a set of Nokian Outpost AT tires, 275-60-20, put on my Chevy Silverado. I paid just under $1000 complete. I chose them because they are not too aggressive, offer a low rolling resistance for an AT tire, are reported to ride smoothly and quietly, and have the 3 peak rating. Not enough miles on them to offer more of an opinion than that. But I have had Nokian WRG2 SUV tires on my Honda CRV and they performed great. So time will tell.
@@breakinstuffandlikingit6821 so far so good. Just a small amount of road noise. Quite smooth riding. They handle well and have been good in the limited amount of snow we have had so far this year. I would buy them again.
I appreciate you reviewing the 265/70R17 size since that's what came on my F150 4x4 Off Road and I like them. I'm running the BFG Trail Terrain and I really like them. I think the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 is a "Best Buy" in this category at the moment at about $202 per tire. Also mention: Firestone Destination A/T2. An excellent tire also for commute or work and weekend adventures.
I had great luck with Nitto Grappler 10 Ply in 35 12x20. I pull a 12k 5th wheel and these have lasted 20k miles....which is great for a HD diesel truck.....but a set of 4 runs around $1500. All in all a good deal.
Take a hard look at Rocky Mountain AT They can be purchased at Discount Tire for about 120 U S. Size 275-65-18. I added the road hazard warranty and I was out the door for 750 bucks in Arizona at Discount Tires. Very similar to the BFG KO2.
Just installed Nexen Roadian A\T 285/75R16 in my 2014 Tacoma at $920 out the door here in AZ and I very happy. They are QUIET! They are as quiet as my BF KO2 in my wrangler.
Falkens look good but have not been as good as KO2's for me. I was disappointed with the Falkens. Mine are worn out at 31,000 plus showing some dry rot as well. Falkens are great in the snow but pick up nails worse than KO2's. Either going back to KO2's or trying something different like Toyo's.
Only got 27,000 miles out of those Falken AT3s that I put on my 2020 Tundra. Rotated often and dealer checked alignments …. Agreed they looked good for the price but longevity was just not there
You can add them to your order and we will install them, but since you have a Toyota you would want to bring it to your dealership to get them calibrated properly.
I'm considering them but idk if I should get those, the cooper at3 xlt, or rugged trek. Not impressed with the mickey thompson baja boss at. 275/55r20. I still want an aggressive look but do well in snow, wet, dry, and longevity. I weigh roughly 7k pounds and I tow.
I just got rid of a set of the Radar Renegade AT Pro with less than 3k miles. The two nails in the coffin was 1. the tires shaking - even perfectly balanced they shook like crazy. 2. They are at an insanity level with picking up stones and only throwing them at highway speeds, or not releasing at all. If they didn't have carcass issues that result in a very shaky ride and were only used on-road & never near any rocks or gravel, they would be a decent tire for the price. But at the end of the day, they're cheap tires for a reason.
Thank you for the information. I live in Canada and do you know if I can purchase a set of BF Goodrich A/T not the KO2 for my 2022 Toyota Tundra 265/60/20. Thank you.
I have cooper adventurer mud terrains and they were ok but my truck shakes like a stripper at highway speeds and I have coilovers. I just ordered the radar at5’s and I hope they are much better. Will never buy mud terrain again.
I'm definitely a fan of the BFG name, and currently in consideration if I should go with the Trail Terrain model versus the KO2's currently on my 4Runner. However, the fact that this BFG was compared to these smaller name brands worries me. Is it perhaps that this BFG Trail Terrain can ONLY compete with the likes of this caliber of quality - small name brand tires? 🤔
@TrailBuiltOff-road Could u guys make a new video, discuss and compare between toyo open country at3 vs. hankook dynapro at2, and hankook dynapro at2 extreme and it has an outstanding 70k mile passenger warranty, for those that drives on mostly pavement and small dirt road? I would love to hear more those three and making a good comparison, the tread mile warranty, and more benefits. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
$900 plus dollars for 265/70/r17 is pretty high... I'm shopping right now and seeing multiple options with better specs and performance than the tires in this video in the $600 range. Heck, I've found 285/70/r17 LRE $700 - $900 shipped for free.
$1000 dollars for a set of tires mounted and balanced that won't last 3 years nowadays is a joke. Durability and treadware would the biggest concerns when gas is going to $6 a gallon, I want tires that have low rolling resistance for economy. Not some giant sand balloons that howl like crazy on the highway and suck fuel bigtime!
@@mocheeks709 Not sure Trump is the answer to all your shortcomings in life. Gas was .95 cents a gallon when your arch enemy was in office. You keep mount'n up those overpriced sand balloons buddy!
Why doesn't ANYONE answer the specific question as to how the BFG All Terrain A/T handles in the rain? Everyone has confirmed they do well in the snow offr-oad and sand but conspicuously avoids touching on rain/wet surfaces. I need that answer by this coming Sunday, 06/11/2023. Please advise.
So why the hell are 18in and 20in tires more expensive than 15in or 16in tires? It's less rubber, less product and material used, so shouldn't the 20in tires be cheaper!!!!!???? Now 10 years ago companies said it was because they weren't popular yet and 20s were more of a special option. Well thats not the case now days. You can't tell me 20s are not popular with most half ton trucks coming with factory 20s and 50 percent 3/4 ton trucks to. So what's the bull shit reasoning?

Great to hear! Let us know when you are scooping that 3rd set. I am sure we have what your are looking for!

No listed but doesn't the cooper AT3 4S com in as a gas friendly tire with good off road capabilities?
You are right. I am just not impressed with their life span.
Just curious, why do the same tire in a 20" cost more than a 15" or 17"? Seems to me there is less raw material used in a 20" tire.
Believe those smaller tires are less produced than the 20's now a days so that could maybe play into the factor for price!
What about TPM sensors? I or you install them? Autel sells the aftermarket which are programmable to my 19’ Toyota.

Ive run the atturos. Great tires and really hook up on everything but they make some noise on the highway and once they get really worn down they HOWL
