Good Samaritans Help Police Officer During Traffic Stop

- Police outside of Cleveland, Ohio, are praising a group of citizens who helped an officer. A police officer pulled over 64-year-old David Koubeck during a routine traffic stop. He stepped out of the vehicle and continued to refuse the officer’s orders, which led to a physical struggle. Good Samaritans, including Stacia Metucci, ran to help the officer. A second police officer arrived and they were able to put the driver in handcuffs.
As a 22 year veteran officer, this police woman needs additional tac comm and DT training. This should have never gotten to this.
This officer beyond training or not training…..she did the job, also the civilians did a great job protecting their own community by helping the authorities.
That man has put it on a clinic on white privilege
She's very lucky there were decent concerned folks that were brought up right to help her out. Hopefully she reviews both the footage and gets some input from her older colleagues. Seems to have escalated *unnecessarily.

He was agitated from the first second. He was the aggressor for the entire interaction. For quite obvious reasons, police officers do not want subjects hopping out and reaching into their vehicles. He's the problem, 100%.
@@SheilaR.08 yeah but she made it worse. She should've called in help while distracting him until backup came. She went from 0-100 real quick. She had some power trip that backfired on her.
That cop is a bad cop plain and simple.
He was already agitated. She asked for his license registration. He got out of the car to go to his bag.. she doesn't know if there's a gun in there or not.
The real story here is that this officer's inability to handle the situation properly endangered at least 4 civilians because she couldn't hack it.
This may be hard for you to grasp, but there simply aren't enough people that can kick everyone's ass in the world to fill police ranks.

How many years of Law Enforcement experience and training do you have?
What do you imagine she could have done with an aggressive, angry man who instantly jumped from the vehicle, refused every direction, and wanted a fight?
I wondered about how others in law enforcement would analyze the situation
I agree the gentle wasn’t following verbal commands but instead of giving him time to process what he was being told she physically shoved him hard and expected him not to return it. One thing everyone fails to understand is that when a person is physically attack the natural fight/ flight instinct takes over. Many, not all Cops do this, all the time either because of fear or abuse of power . They approach people aggressively and expect them not to defend themselves because they wear a badge. Most police officers seem to lack basic people skills and treat their position as one of authority and not one of service paid for by the taxes of the people who live in their cities . When their attitudes change maybe you won’t have these kinds of incidents. Natural instinctive response is get your hands off me!!!
She should have mased Him I don't Care that is what she is trained to do They have to train her a little better I believe when a woman Officer knows she is pulling over a Man which in reality is stronger than she is she should have signaled back up from the start Thank GOD for the Good Samaritans
From what i observed in the video, the female officer was out of line with the man who was complying reasonably.

The policewoman completely misread the situation ,got immediately aggressive and actually started the confrontation by trying to grab him , it’s great that the others helped out but it wouldn’t have been an issue if she had just been calm and waited for her backup that was just moments away

He got out of his car. He's already escalating the situation.
From a law perspective she went hands on first he acted in self defense which one is allowed to defend themselves from an assault whether it's a member of the force or a member of the public. They could possibly win this case. She did touch him first and he pushed her hand away it was a traffic stop no point in going hands on. It was escalated because she wanted to "be in control of the situation." If he gets the right lawyer he can win if he goes pro se it would be hard.
This is a easy win for the man. The video is clear as day that it was in self defense
It was escalated the moment he got out of the vehicle first.
I'm glad someone else noticed that. Like yeah he did get out of the vehicle to get the information but he only pointed at her he never touched her. She was the one who initiated the contact and then just shoved him into the car as if she was a wanna be bully or somethin.

@@uncrustable9923 nah this isn’t about gender. We’ve seen more than enough videos of male cops acting the same or worse. This is about training so they can better read the situation and how to adapt when a routine stop doesn’t go to plan. They should have the confidence in their skills to keep it as peaceful as possible and not immediately panic or get hot headed.
Am I the only one seeing how aggressive the officer was? She pushed him off of the curb, he had the right to defend himself. He hadn’t posed a threat until she pushed him.
I disagree, he posed a threat when he exited his vehicle and opened the back door without being told to do so. She had no idea of what he was reaching for, yet she let him do all that. Had that guy been black she would have dropped his ass immediately and said she feared for her safety. This is not a racial statement, this is a fact!
Yes she was very aggressive in a situation that got out of hand quickly. One female officer against the male suspect that was obviously already angry and combated. And never once did she draw a weapon and when she pushed him he was about to handle her ass because she crossed the line, she should have drawn a weapon she should have tased him the moment he refused to hit the ground. She should have tased his ass but better than that when she called for backup she should have just held her weapon on him and dared him to move and waited on the backup why escalate the situation knowing she was alone?
