“Onto the next one.” Strong character there. He’s been through pain, and all he wants is the veteran to not go through the same thing his brother did. A lot of respect there.
On to the next one.....but truth is, THAT one stays with you. You wonder if you could say/ do anything different for better outcome. Stuff you thought/ tried to forget.... You haven't, you just live with knowing you did your best at that moment in time. I hope all involved manage their issues & aren't afraid to reach out if need be.
I watched Officer Ross on Live PD. You get to know these guys and I'm so glad that there are good cops out there. People need to film the police when they are doing a lot to stop crime.
@@oo-wr4pq I don't think their standards are low. I think we see so much evil and so little good, that when someone does something that used to be considered basic human decency, kindness, empathy, and/or respect, iis so seldom seen, people who show these things are looked at as heros/heroines. I agree that this L.E.O. isn't my definition of a hero. He's just a nice guy with a good heart and empathy for anothers' struggles. Either way, he deserves a pat on the back. 🙂
It's really awesome to see an officer of the law have feelings like this gentleman does. This officer needs to know how much this means to all of us to see him respond to this older gentleman the way that he did.
It did hit hard. Cops see the worst of the worst with very little time to allow themselves to deal with their own emotions. So they stuff them and go on to 'the next one.' But, we expect them to always be courteous and nice every time. Tough job, and not all can do it.
@@maryf3219 Cops, Fire Fighters, EMS. Truly a group of heros. Yeah there are bad apples. You'll get that everywhere sadly...and they usually know how to abuse and work around.

@@glennturner4807 How about having high standards in your daily life, being a god citizen, obeying the law, co-operating and helping the officers of law enforcement or even, better still, become a Police Officer with this guy as a role model.
yeah i feel like a lotta cops lack empathy. subjects are treated like laundry. but i guess they deal with a lot of liars, aggression, and derelict behaviour, so it's hard to maintain a shining ray of optimism dealing with that everyday. in fact, who knows if that guy was actually a vet? he was just wearing a hat. addicts aren't exactly models of truthfulness.
.m. Not really most cops are good but you never hear about those you only ever hear of the bad cops because the media thinks that a story about a bad cop is more interesting than a good cop
As a veteran, I say thank you so much for being so kind and caring. As a person, I am humbled by this man among men. Despite the pain of his own loss, he shows compassion and moves on to the next one.
There are more cops like him than you think. Most officers are like him, it’s the ones who aren’t like him that are the minority. The mainstream media doesn’t like stories like this video though, it doesn’t support their narrative and further drive a wedge between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
It's appalling to think that the Liberal Media Industrial Complex will have us all believe that LEOs such as this fine individual are somehow public enemy number 1.
I am an officer and i hate to watch this. All my partners and I became LEO's for a reason. Either money, care for our community, leadership, or just plain "they are hiring." I agree, but to a certain extent. Is it a better alternative than more harmful substances? Yes…will it help you with whatever it is you’re feeling? Most likely, but is it for everyone? No…Officers shouldn’t necessarily go around recommending it to people, but they should mention it as an alternative amongst others. You know what I mean?
what a great cop I wish we could have thousands more like him talking from the heart not that big blue shield they stand behind he shared a little bit of himself god bless him
@samavatar1991 It's because people watch 2 videos of bad cops as well as other videos that they don't understand or have the context and proceed to think every single cop is bad.
1 bad cop doesn’t make all cops bad. 1 good cop does make them all good. Too many trigger happy cops. Cops are scared of minorities and minorities are scared of cops. Unless there’s a cultural shift where cops are not being disrespected in every way, nothing will change. Cops are supposed to be courageous and become example citizens, we are not there yet
@Eden Holdon You're proving his point right now. The bad cop videos go viral and idiots like you think that means most cops are bad. Theres also RARELY EVER context. Even if you think so, in your high and mighty opinion. Its a video. You werent there.
Tina Nealon I just want to say that it’s awkward that this guy wants to try and stop people from using drugs by being a cop like does he not know that doesn’t help drug users? Like his brother....
Yes, he's a great police officer. I live here in Tulsa and believe me we have a great police department. They actually care and want to help people. Our Highway patrol in Oklahoma is the same.
Well said, so what's the plan to get the ego driven dirty cops off the force, so that more guys and girls like this gentleman can get hired, so guys and girls that look like me feel safe while walking or driving home minding our own business won't get harassed. It's a bad feeling to know that most of these cops nowadays are hired to hunt us, take away our freedom what little freedom we have only to lock us up and throw away the key on some false accusations or trumped up charge. I wish that people in the media and those that believe the media who state on a daily basis that the black man is the boogyman could be black for a week and see what we experience all our lives.
Being a Combat Veteran myself I have much respect for this officer, Heartfelt straight talk is the way we Veterans understand and respect. I really wish we had more like him...
Cops like this should be rewarded in some type of way, because there isn’t many like this man. He spoke from the heart, man to man with him. We need more people like him in this world!
How do u know there aren’t many like him? Most ppl who dedicate years of their life going through training and police academy as well as being on the police force do so because they want to help ppl. A lot of cops are like him it’s just that the media doesn’t show them because that doesn’t get them ratings so people are fed a bad impression of cops
Ray MASSIH Soooo how do u think he would’ve acted then? If you think that there aren’t officers who actually talk to people and encourage them to do better things with their life, I can almost certainly say you’re wrong. Because they risk their lives everyday for our freedom, but don’t say your country is great... because it isn’t. My country is not the greatest either.
