You’re so lucky to have fenestrated leaves!! My oldest baby Monstera Deliciosa doesn’t have fenestrations yet… this video is making me want to put my two plants together!! Maybe I’ll do it in the Spring. They both seem to be stuck in place and haven’t put out any new growth in months. Yours looks so much healthier and happy. I don’t know why mine are being so difficult for me… this is when I wish I had a planty friend who lived closer to me so they could look at them and tell me what I’m obviously missing… Oh, I have the same potting mat as you! 😍 Thank you for sharing! 💜💚🪴
Maybe they're rootbound and need a bit more space to grow! I've just been loving the look of fuller plants lately :) Aw maybe you can join local facebook groups to find planty people close to you! And it's a great potting mat!
@@GetPlantyWithIt I had repotted the bigger one at the end of the summer when I discovered it was root bound… maybe I should unpot it again and take a look!!! 🤷♀️
@@MindfulnessMama I use Liquid Dirt and Super Thrive, but not in the winter. I’ve repotted the older one three times and the other one twice. The roots are growing great and they have lots of aerial roots. Just no fenestrations.
@@StitchesbySharonH gotchaa!!! What kind of light is it getting? 🤔 why don't you use in winter? I know people say oh don't fertilize in winter but liquidirt is more like a plant food and won't harm your plant 👍
When I repot large plants I use a 47 gallon trash bag on the floor and it contains my mess then I just dump the soil back into my soil container after I’m done.
I havexa philodendron hope.. well u potted in a large pot..its too large. Its been 2yrs. So I realized that the soil is too compact. I'm going to make soil mix and start over with a pot that is about 2in smaller... what do you think 🤔
That sounds good! If the soil is too compact, make sure to break up the soil on the root ball as much as you can (without disturbing the roots too much) and I'm sure your plant will be much happier!
I did this last year with a mature plant that was leggy and a new small one I bought that had 3 mature leaves and some babies Anyway I'm sure my plants had sex because they started sending up whole new plants from in the soil, so glad I spotted them before I put stones in, now my plant is a bush 🤣
Hi, any update on your monstera after few months? Curious to see the outcome coz I am also planning to do the same.
If you dip the ends of your wood in bees wax it will keep your wood from rotting so fast. I know it sounds odd but it works.
Ooh that's so smart! Where do you get beeswax?

Have you tried liquidirt? I use it almost every watering and I always have a new leaf coming in. I got my monestera in Sept & already had to repot it!

Cute plant my friend
Thank you!!

That's a great idea! I'll definitely try that next time :)
It's a little easier to drill the hole when you add a little water 💧 👍 love this video ! Just found your channel 🙂
Definitely trying that next time! And aw welcome!! 💚
I am going to double check but I am pretty sure you can use cedar to avoid rotting post. Or try the beeswax like the other post.
I really need to invest in one of those plant mats. 😅
Yes, they're the best!
Feel better soon!
Thank you!!
That’s a nice pot. What did you use to seal the cracks?
I actually used a glue gun, so it's just hot glue!
@@GetPlantyWithIt I don’t know why I thought it would be a magical adhesive 😭😂
@@plantdud1950 😂😂 I've heard E6000 glue is even stronger so I'm definitely going to get that for next time!
