Idk why I love repotting plants/ watching people repot them. It’s just so nice seeing how the roots have grown, seeing them in the new pot, it’s just a nice experience. I know a lot of people don’t like repotting but I love it.💚
I just rewatched your Thai Con Playlist videos, and all I can say is wow, wow, wow. First of all, you have the patience of a Saint. But more importantly, you NEVER gave up on her, and she's thanking you in droves!!! Keep up the amazing work Fern, you are an inspiration to all of us!!!
1.) GORGEOUS lighting/camera situation on this video! 2.) Such a satisfying up-pot to watch! 3.) Congrats on keeping such a happy, healthy Thai Con! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
It’s crazy because I believe I got my Thai a couple months before you and I was going crazy looking for videos on it. And that’s actually how I eventually followed your channel. My Thai just unfurled a new leaf with 8 inner fenestration holes and I can’t tell you how proud I am of her! They are truly gorgeous and maybe old news to some but I still get excited every time I get see a new leaf pushing through!
Aaaaahhh this makes me so happy, can't imagine how happy this plant makes you now. All your TLC and patience finally paid off. It looks SO cute in the pot too
I got my first and only Thai constellation from plant store at a local plants stores Purge recently. I put it in hydroton with moss on top and hovered over it the last 2 months of Summer. it's shooting out roots all over 😊. I am an old-school plant guy.I do have to admit that I've become a bit obsessed with clear pots, Deli containers or whatever. I use cover pots, but I love being able to see that the roots are doing well.❤
I think I am about 18 months behind you in my Thai journey. Having watched all your Thai videos about this Thai plant I have tried many of your potting options as well. From my tiny plant at the begging of 2021 I now have five plants from this one plant. Two are top cuts and the other two are separations from the base plant. One amazing thing to note is that the two top cuts both produced pure creamy white leaves when they finally pushed out new leaves. All potted in a chunky mix with loads of perlite. I prefer potting direct into terracotta pots these days as they tend to keep the plant in happier root conditions but does mean watering more often as the pots dry the soil out quicker. 😊
Currently struggling with root rot on my baby Thai con. It’s so motivating and helpful to see how yours has bounced back numerous times and that it is thriving now! I lost all my roots and only have one node left. I tried perlite but ultimately decided that water propagation is best until I have more roots. After that I think I’ll either go semi-hydro with perlite or leca!
I feel the same way with my regular monstera . Bought it as a rehab plant from walmart, nursed it back to health. The pot fell and the plant was damaged pretty badly so i cut it back to individual nodes. They did nothing for 6 months, finally started growing again, and now i have two beautiful monsteras absolutely thriving and fenestrating again. Now I just need to resurrect this aurea cutting I got.
She's so beautiful 😍 I'm so glad she seems to have outgrown her root rot issues! I remember people giving you flack for different things you tried while trying to save her. Looks like you were right! My hoya chicken farm, which I bought after seeing yours, seems to be growing a peduncle I found today! I'm so thrilled!
I finally bought a highly variegated Thai con. I’m waiting for it to ship. So stoked. Yours is lovely! Maybe I’ll chop mine up and grow two plants in one pot. It just looks so nice and full. Plus, there’s nothing better than multiple leaves emerging at once ❤
Hi Fern I have been putting off repotting mine but watching you inspired me to get to it! I wasn’t sure what soil to use I was going to use #3 perlite , potting mix , and some orchid bark but now I may get what you just used..!love your channel content…. oh and Olive too❤
Omg I’ve been on the struggle bus with mine and trying to stay hopeful because I’ve been with you since the beginning of your Thai con journey ❤ so happy to see her thriving!!!
Thank you for sharing your journey with this plant. I just bought a Thai Constellation about 3 weeks ago, and I've been so nervous about caring for it, so this helps! Yours looks incredibly beautiful, and I hope mine gets to look like that one day! 😊
She's a beauty! So glad she's finally settled into her own and is happy. That's a great mix you've put her in. When I looked last that fir bark was super expensive, but she's definitely worth it - given your journey!!
Your Thai is gorgeous! Glad to see her thriving! Your videos about your journey are helping me with my Thai that i got a couple of months ago. I've already dealt with rot once but hopefully I caught it early enough that she'll bounce back. I think I used too much soil in the mix and it was holding onto way too much moisture. I repotted her in a much chunkier mix and am keeping my fingers crossed that she doesn't rot again!
I have had exactly thee same journey with my thai too, still just in juvenile form as we have re-rooted several times over but I have had 2 new leaves in quick succession so 🤞 Yours is stunning now, I pray for mine to get there too one day 🙏
I was holding my breath throughout the whole taking the plant out of the pot procedure (and the in-between-the-legs strategy had me laughing out loud, which helped ease the tension!). ooooh! I hope my Tai Constellation grows to be as beautiful as yours!
Omg I've been away for like months and watched this video omg I'm so proud of you with that thai constellation! I remember the rotting and and repotting process but now yeayy!
When I have a garden plant that’s stuck in a pot I find rolling it on it’s side with some pressure helps with loosening. For one that size, leaf shape, etc - maybe on the edge of the table so the leaves are hanging in the air and the pot is on the table? Or netting it first? Haven’t tried something with that leaf structure
Honestly this plant especially with this colored pot might win the contest for the prettiest potted plant in the entire world. I just got my thai constellation yesterday, it has mechanical damage from the store, but it's quite big and the newest leaf is with fenestration already. I just hope we survive the root rot era
Hello from Sweden! I just wanted to tell you that i looove your channel! I really got in to houseplants a few years ago and you are a big inspiration to me! Looking forward for your spooky repot🕯👻👻
I was just gifted my first small Thai con, and it already has fenestration in the newest leaf! So, of course, i had to check out your videos to see your strategy. Funny to see how you repot using your legs to unpot. I thought i was the only one 😂. I will repot in a clear one for now. Great vid🎉❤
I have wanted this plant for over 25 years now, I’m so excited the price is finally decent, who knows I probably would have killed it when I first started this plant journey, I finally figured out succulents not to long ago 😂
Hi fern!! Great video, ive been bingong your thai con playlist. I never thought id find a thai con in my budget, but found someone local selling babies for very cheap. I hope mine looks as beautiful as yours one day!
I have the regular monstera, and I dont have to tie it to its stake anymore...its aerial root is wrapped around the stake. I have never seen one with the aerial roots growing up, but one side of mine has roots growing up, and the other side has roots growing down. :D
My baby thai con has completely rotted twice, lost two leaves, and pushed one out. I am finally getting roots back from it's last rotting incident but it's been a STRUGGLE. Thanks for being relatable :')
I don’t use clear pots since I used Terracotta for all my plants, but feel confident in the roots using Bonsai Jack Gritty Mix with some Espoma Cactus Succulent soil, not much. Your Thai is beautiful I hope mine gets that big and pretty someday!
I saw Thai Constellation and clicked so fast 😂❤ Both of mine are in the thrip affected area (1 of them is probably the worst affected plant & I’m so sad) , but there’s finally a new leaf on that one! It should be unfurling within the next couple of days ☺️ I’m waiting on an order of beneficial mite from KopperT Canada, but it hasn’t even shipped yet because I just missed the order cut off last week by a couple hours for the one that ships today, so I think I’ll be in the orders they ship next Wednesday. I waited too long to order because it’s expensive and I couldn’t bring myself to spend the money, but I had to do it. I’m just hoping the few free mite sachets I had been sent in a potting mix order from a BC shop, will take care of most of it between now and when my new order comes 🤞🏻🤞🏻 I love how big and beautiful yours is!! 🥰🥰
Omg thats gorgeous! Ive had my TC for 4 months now. It was a top cutting with 3 leaves and early fenestration. It still hasn't pushed a new leaf out yet. Any tips on encouraging new leaf growth? My other monsteras are perfectly happy in my monstera corner.
Such a beautiful plant 😍😍 I was finally able to get my hands on a Thai con at a reasonable price but it rotted within a week. I’m so sad but I’ll try again soon
Yay! I was hoping to catch you here 😅😊❤ just in time for house work. Sold my Thai and I just have the green monstera now. She's sits in a cauldron during spooky season 🍲👻
Gorgeous Thai Constellation been thinking of getting one. With Monstera I don’t like the crazy aerial roots. So i would chop them or bury into the soil if they aren’t that long and chunky looking. I think prices are starting to go down.
Inspired me to repot my massive Monstera and it was even more rootbound 😅 I used a frosting knife to unstick the roots from the pot But dang does it look good repotted
😯 Wow your Thai plant is fantastic ( proud mommy). Wondering a few things is that Molly's mix good for hoyas, need to re pot my Mathilde?. And your Thai plant started out with little variation so you can get more with a plant "variation in one". Thanks ❤
Hi fern, you don't know one thing and that is you made me buy monstera thai constellation.though i totally risked cause could not afford so much money,i bought a chopper mother plant with dried torn one leaf and now it looks great now, beyond my imagination.
You inspire me to work hard on my baby thai! Love your videos! But I'm curious, why don't you plant the aerial root inside the pot? Is there any specific reason or you just like them hanging outside the pot like that? Because I personally love to pot my monstera's aerial roots into the pot 😁
Hi fern!!! So I’ve been watching back on some of your videos about the Thai Con because I got one as a surprise for Christmas! I’m really nervous to have such an expensive plant and I wanna make sure I take great care of it! What potting medium would be best for a baby plant? I usually use a good soil mix with perlite and orchid bark so it’s pretty chunky and most my plants are thriving but I’m trying to avoid root rot as much as possible. I’ve just never used perlite alone or Leca so I’m unsure! Thanks for any input!!!
I don’t like the drainage in those attached saucer pots. I would have gone with the clear pot but I’m not an expert. When I outgrow the clear pots I’m going to go to large nursery pots with tons of drainage with nickel size holes. Good, luck.
I am so glad I bought mine BIG, after watching your video. It only has 5 leaves, but they are 60 cm and the stem is 5,5 cm thick. So basically I did spend € 42,-/year to get where you are, lol
Such a long journey with this one! This is what happens when you don’t give up! I’m very happy for you!
Idk why I love repotting plants/ watching people repot them. It’s just so nice seeing how the roots have grown, seeing them in the new pot, it’s just a nice experience. I know a lot of people don’t like repotting but I love it.💚
I love it too - so satisfying and (usually) relaxing!
I feel the same way I love watching it and doing it myself!

I can't believe your monstera is this big now!!!! So happy to be here for so many years

That is amazing! I’m looking forward to when I can chop and prop this plant one day. Would love to have multiples and see what variegation I get ☺️
Currently struggling with root rot on my baby Thai con. It’s so motivating and helpful to see how yours has bounced back numerous times and that it is thriving now!

The snapping sounds when you were trying to get it out the pot was scaring TF outta me😅😂😂
Lol yes, like she cracked an egg.🥚🍳

Your Thai is stunning!!! I've been rooting for you during this whole journey you've been on with it... amazing progress!!! 🙌😍
honestly inspiring how long you have gone back and forth with this plants health, and it's super gratifying that it's just happy now! yay!
You’re just going to have to be okay with breaking the pot to get him out again, ha ❤. Love this plant, he totally deserves the fancy pot 🎉
So happy you got to the place you are with this plant 💚 Definitely proud plant parent moment!
Thank you so much 🥺

Try a pet store. I got a huge bag of it for a fairly reasonable price. I don't remember exactly how much a it was 5 or 6 years ago.

You could direct an air roots to the pot as well. Now they will reach for the floor or wall to attatch to. It grew to a beautiful plant anyway.
I was holding my breath throughout the whole taking the plant out of the pot procedure (and the in-between-the-legs strategy had me laughing out loud, which helped ease the tension!). ooooh! I hope my Tai Constellation grows to be as beautiful as yours!

Ive never thought about clear pots! I just got my tiny baby and i was going to return it but maybe with a clear pot i can not worry so much!
She looks beautiful! I hope mine looks this beautiful in a few years
I'm sure it will :) thanks for watching!
Beautiful healthy Thai. Thanks for sharing Fern!
thank you for watching :)

Todays going to be a good day! Looking forward to watching this, love me a good repot video.

Amazing - love a simple mix! 🤌
Such a handsome baby. He looks SO pretty in that pot!
