When Alex said “It is the skin on the instrument contact” did anyone else’s mind go to the scene from Step Brothers when he rubbed his nuts on the drum set? Haha
lmao. Funny enough im a drummer and ive been working on my foot work a lot. Going through a lot of socks, as in they become totally unwearable due to the holes im putting in them after 3 or 4 good practices. My feet are just a lil too ticklish to be barefoot and socks are too slippery so im basically just grinding my socks against the insides of my shoes.
Most of it is still 4/4 though, it's just polymetres, playing a riff or phrase that either comes short just a bit or goes over the bar line just a bit and then repeating it a few times allowing it to flow over the 4/4 base before cutting it short to make it line up in a more concievable way (that's what they do usually)
My love for meshugga is the fact that the artists have an huge amount of flow between themselves when they play although they dont all share the same beat, get my drift? and despite the fact that many of the songs have different beats between instruments it all makes sense. and that is nothing short of AWESOME! :D
Ya Boi meshuggah is not for every ear is all i can say. Meshuggah is like algebra,if you dont get it,it is the worst shit in the fucking planet. But in the other hand if you do,you will understand that there is more than open notes and fast kicks.
Seriously much respect for reacting to Meshuggah. They're a band that most people don't listen to until they been listening to metal for years... and are exploring progressive metal.
I can personally attest to the difficulty in playing this song on the drums. not only are you dealing with poly rhythms, but with utter concentration and insane coordination, dexterity and endurance. Thomas Haake is in a league of his own. Metal drummers are already supremely talented, but this dude from Sweden is something else. A gift from the halls of Valhalla. None can compare.
Damn, Meshuggah. Fine, fine band!! Progressive, heavy , complex, heavy, intense drumming, 8-string guitars, gutural but understandable voice, amazing lyrics. Man, what A band!! And yeah, The drummer, Tomas Haake is regarded as one of the best metal drummers.
This song is one of the hardest song for a drummer to play cuz each limb is playing in different tempo so pretty much playing 4 different songs at the same time
It's not the tempo, it's the time signature of the song, the tempo is the speed of the song while the time signature consists of how many beats there are in a measure. Smh
Aaaaaand, that's not true. Get your polyrhythms vs. polymeters straight. This song is hard for the drummers particularly because of the hertha double bass pattern which is reaaaally exhausting in these tempos.
It's not the time signature. The time signature is just 4/4. It's the fact he's playing a Herta pattern on the feet is hard enough on it's own, and then the co-ordination of doing that whilst having hands playing is incredibly hard.
Tomas Haake is an absolute beast. The double bass in Bleed is super technical and difficult. For more insane drumming, check out his drum playthrough for the song Clockworks. Also, I think you are ready for Animals As Leaders - CAFO. AAL's drummer Matt Garstka is one of the best out there and Tosin Abasi is an unbelievable guitar player.
I wasn’t really a Messhugah fan until I saw them live with Devin Townsend. Complete mind altering experience. I just stood and watched, I don’t think I had any beer for their entire performance. Totally entranced. Amazing.
Saw cynic open for them. Wasn't even gonna stay for meshuggah. Boy was I wrong. They just dropped this song..... Been a HUGE fan ever since... Astonishing!
You gotta know about their lighting, it's perfectly in time with the drumming. You know why? Because the guy on lights is Edvard Hansen (I think I spelled it right), he does the lights live in time with the drumming, there's a fantastic video from 2012 where it shows him literally "playing" the lights. It's crazy how tight and in time he is with Tomas. It's so fucking cool. If you can find an audience perspective video of their song "The Violent Sleep of Reason", the lighting, on top of the amazing music, is just fascinating to watch. Much love!
I've seen Meshuggah 4 times now. My favorite spot in any venue that they play is right next to the sound booth. a) The sound is fantastic there b) I get to peek over at Edvard Hansson going insane on the lights
THANK YOU! I was wondering what t.f his name was. I've seen the audience perspective video you're talking about and no one knew the name of the guy in charge of the lights. You should leave a comment over there because the top comments were singing his praises. Easy upvotes.
Raa 666 Thats why i love Alex.. It's a throwback to another, more innocent times.. Ah how memories sometimes fade ... It's rejouvanating to see his reactions each day, to remind oneself how far you have come since your own first time

Choosing a drumcam for a first meshuggah video was a great choice. Meshuggah is sum of more than its parts but Thomas on drums will always be the heart of that machine. It's like you said, he makes it sound like that there are at least 2 or 3 drummers doing all that. But it's also bass and guitar playing those rhytms from bass drums that makes it sound so heavy. It's very peculiar sound.

Lol but in all reality you are going through such an incredible journey with all of these songs and you took Meshuggah way better than I thought you would. These guys are are hard pill to swallow even for metal heads themsevles so good on you for appreaciating the crazy heavy side of the genre
heorldofrock i still hope our boy here comes to some festivals amd meet us, his fans, in real life.. seriously. Would LOVE to meet Alex to some (European) festival.. Like, its the final frontier for him.. would be dope as hell
SortenRavn Hell I would love to go to some European festivals get out of the hell that is America in which the braindead mainstream music consuming public only enjoys ballless and substanceless pop and pop rap.
Their songs aren't really 4/4. There's weird stuff going on underneath the "4/4" cymbals and snare. Especially true with their earlier stuff like nothing. Just because you head bangs to 4/4 doesn't mean that's what's really going on
this song is so dense. if you just watch Haake's hands, you may think it's all basic 1234 stuff. but underlying that simplicity is a ton of patterns. there are many groups of smaller patterns throughout the songs, very distinct stuff. hard to hear if you aren't used to this style of music. the main double bass one is easy to hear, but there are patterns where they do 3 groups, then 2, then 1, then 2, then 3, etc. things like that - and the guitars are doing it too with the kick drums. so while 1234 is happening so we can bob our heads, there is CRAZY stuff happening all over the place to make this an insane song, aside from just the stamina needed to play it! so while he's not doing the typical "flashy drummer" stuff to appear good, there is a lot going on, layers among layers that are just crazy! i'm so glad you enjoyed this and recognized some of what's going on! there's many who would hear this and immediately say "it's just screaming." there is so much juxtaposition with the growling vocals and the amazing lyrics... pure emotion exactly as you said.
Loved your comment. You said it all. Not everyone is able to know that there're some really mind blowing stuff inside a song. Hahahahaha this one is a masterpiece.
He has to… that's an effort of endurance and resilience. This is some mind-over-body level shit. That's somewhere in a whole concert, and his legs must hurt as hell… he's "just" got to ignore it and keep the times signatures intact. He can't be wasting energy going all crazy for the show, he has to stay composed.
well then you have endless blastbeats (which I admit are also not that easy to play, especially at that tempo), but not its not a very complex rhythm like in this song or other Meshuggah and (for example) Tool songs.
Fleshgod's drumming isn't even that impressive. It's quite literally ONE thing - fast, unrelentless blastbeats. And those are a fucking cakewalk once you mastered the technique. Compare that to constantly playing polyrhythms and complex time signatures. No, not really.
The drummer only had 3 or 4 years of drumming under his belt when the album came out. That alone is impressive. Yes, it's not complex but not every song needs to be complex. I listen to Tesseract, Dillenger, and Leprous If I want to hear complex. Being able to play "unrelentless blastbeats" for that length is impressive and the it sounds really clear and clean.
I never said complex... I just said unbelievable drumming due to the speed that it sounds clean. Unbelievable can mean a lot of things. Yes, Meshuggah, Tool, Tesseract, Dillenger, leprous, Frost(the drummer), Dream Theater and such are more complex than Francesco.
I love that he inverts the rythem half way through the first verse he goes tripple double tripple then switches to double tripple double , Haake is insane.
Honestly the lyrics are very well written. But Thomas Haake IS Meshuggah. Without him, this band falls apart. His drumming carries the songs and fills in the gaps between the guitar work that without his drumming, would be super repetitive.
FanaticalDrummer Thomas writes all the music as in drums guitars bass and lyrics he writes the albums then sends them to his band mates who later learn them then go on tour
Dude, Haake is a fucking metronome. His timing is incredible, and it seriously looks like each of his arms is acting independent of one another and his feet are doing their own thing independently. This man is utilizing 99% of his brain power on his drumming. Purely epic. Check out his videos for Clockworks and Nostrum if you haven’t yet
The way he sits low with the snare nestled in tight has him playing heels up so the majority of his power is from the hip flexors, thighs, & hams...not just his calf’s. It’s the same way I play...Hold on...I am in no way saying I hold a candle to him. I can’t...but I can totally appreciate the insane talent and dedication it takes to play this way.
you’ve listened to the masters. Their distinct guitar sound spawned the genre of djent although they don’t like their music to be associated with djent. They are just Swedish extreme metal. Haake doesn’t have legs but he has pure bionic limbs smashing those base drums
What's more impressive is that the entire band is synced up with the kick drum rhythmically. Syncapated like crazy! Hands down my favorite metal band. Also note, this is the only song Tomas uses a trigger for.
Not only being one of the best drummers in history, Tomas also wrote those poesy of lyrics... in his second language. If Alex knew he might have (ironicly) had an aneurysm.
The energy is from the metal bro lol you're slowly becoming a metal head living off the energy of the metal. When you hear Erra you'll see that whole feeling come together.
scott hendricks Oh yea that's just the keyboard but seriously that song was my all time favorite by them until the Drift album dropped... Now Skyline takes the cake. I been trying to get Alex to check out Pattern Interrupted or Hybrid Earth haha
And clearly it has all the sense. I don't even like metal that much, I'm dragged here by a a guy from a world completely different from mine, experiencing something new for the very first time. Wouldn't care much if it was "metal for entire life is reacting to metal"...
I mean.....who says you can't be a Hip-hop head and a metalhead? Ive been listening to both for about 25 years. Only the real shit when it comes to hip-hop tho.....none of that mainstream trash that talks about absolutely nothing.
I love meshuggah, I'm a guitarist and I love the machine-like style and the different type of solos. If you liked this check out Clockwork, Dancers to a discorded system(live!), future breed machine(LIVE!!!) and/or combustion
That's right. You have to violently shake your head like your having an aneurysm and a seizure at the same time whilst in the middle of an earthquake while sitting in a vibrating chair.
You are progressively getting into heavier genres of metal, awesome!!! Behemoth Cannibal Corpse The Faceless The Black Dahlia Murder Goatwhore Job For A Cowboy Give those a try !!!!
This will go down as one of the most epic reaction videos ever made! Meshuggah is easily one the most influential Metal bands of the last 20 years together with Opeth. Can't really think of any othe bands on that level.
Great song. AAL is one of the best contemporary bands (not just metal) no question about it. Tosin is one of the best musicians on the planet. I spoke with him years ago just after he released the full length album. We bonded over a quick chat about the future of metal and how awesome Meshuggah is.
Please Drake, no need to be aggressive for such a small thing like this haha. Thank you for defending me though, but i'm pretty sure Alex would rather see all of us love each other since we're his family. He's one of the very few honest youtubers who *REALLY* mean it.
i love trivium but when doing a drummer comparison its hard to deny what Alex has allowed the band to do musically but he uses a lot of triggers, which isnt a bad thing, just a little bit of an edge when going heads up.....imo
Triggers is protools for live playing for a drummer....yes it makes things sound better but also allows you to play faster more intricate beats without actually increasing your foot speed. I didnt say there was anything wrong with it just that he is able to get that amazing intricacy without triggers
Dude the first time I heard that song was back when they released it on their MySpace and I was already a fan of theirs. Needless to say I was utterly blown away. Drummers have always been my favourites in the metal genre and Tomas Haake is just on a completely different level.
Since I heard “Bleed” for the first time in 2011, I held that drum track in the highest possible esteem! I thought it unbeatable!.. until.. I heard the drummer from Strapping Young Lad for the first time less than 3 weeks ago. Gene Hoglan, The Atomic Clock. I’m now 52 years old and have seen proof that there is a drum god!
You made me smile so big. I’m from Sweden and grew up in these boys. Saw them 20 years ago and you have to like ....appreciate it in a very perculiar way. Thanks for the video!!!!
Dude I love your excitement. Even though I’ve heard every song a hundred times.. when I watch your videos it’s like the first time listening all over again. Thank you
Dude, I saw them live tonight in Milan, They absolutely blew my mind, probably the best metal band I've ever seen live. damn they're incredible, nice video bro.
just even playing 2 different beats at once for 7 minutes isnt easy but seeing the tempo he keeps it up with is gnarly even the guitar riffs are insane although its only a few notes most people cant play this song in its entirety
Micah Mcgaffin wow! Now this is the deep and insightful commentary I know UA-cam for. Thank you so much for enlightening us with your graceful manipulation of the English language XD
As Bill Burr said, it’s like he’s playing two different songs at once. Even people who don’t play drums realize how absolutely incredible this level of playing an instrument is.
Yo Alex react to Fleshgod apocalypse - The violation. They're an Italian symphonic metalband, the drums are even more insane and resemble a machine gun. Very interesting song with some clean vocals and of course the classical instruments
I honestly find the rhytm guitar picking to be way more impressive than the drumming, strictly due to the sheer tightness, speed & endurance required for the gallop
Im a better drummer than i am guitarist and I would definitely says its harder on drums. the wrist stamina is easier to pick up if you're efficient. Something about using your two biggest limbs really takes it out of you
StirbMensch Man I can guarantee that if somebody made the experiment of teaching two people, one guitar, one drums, to learn the instruments from scratch only to play this song, the drummer would hate you for the rest of their life.
Glad you reacted to this one. It really is an amazing song. You definitely need to react to Demiurge by Meshuggah as well. Also Painkiller by Judas Priest will blow your mind.
When Alex said “It is the skin on the instrument contact” did anyone else’s mind go to the scene from Step Brothers when he rubbed his nuts on the drum set? Haha
xD
Alex try Future Breed Machine by them :D
Yaas 😂😂
No i watch quality movies man
That movie is so underrated
He wasn't barefoot the whole song, his socks just burned off...
hhahahahaaaha
Lmfao 🤘🏻😂
lmao.

Bruh 😂😂😂😂😂😭
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Legs never skip on Tomas Haake day.
MechaAkuma given the fairly uncreative nature of that joke, I’m still over here wetting myself to that.
Make them ears bleed!!
This comment is nicely borrowed from an other video ;)
damn, I was too slow
Hahaah, Chuck Norris is afraid of thomas haakes legs.
“Supposedly, this is pretty heavy stuff”....
Oh my dear sweet child...
Mark Biddle ‘You have NO idea ‘ lol
Mark Biddle doesn’t even now the half of it
Now do Krisiun - murderer (max kolesne is also a very good drummer)
imagine if he listened to Cleric
Get him on some Beneath the Massacre
Chino from deftones called mushuggah the quantom physics of metal.
Regarding Meshuggah... "And you guys are the quantum physics of music as far as I'm concerned." - Stephen Carpenter of the Deftones.
Well, he's not wrong.
Its stephs fav band
Dream Theater: Are we a joke to you?
the friggin pope thank god you didn't say "the" deftones. we are not worthy
Meshuggah are clockwork metal. Their crazy transitions in time signatures are mind bending.
And check out Obscura-Akroasis
Yes !
I've been telling him consistently to react to Protest the Hero. I wanna see his brain implode.
Thomas Burnaman djent**
If you're a Meshuggah fan, that's it, you're done. You don't have to prove anything to anyone. No one can dispute your metalhead status.
Aniruddha Sharma indeed man. The heaviest you can achieve lol.
Aniruddha Sharma
Serious question here: why does everyone love meshugga so much? To me it's extremely boring
My love for meshugga is the fact that the artists have an huge amount of flow between themselves when they play although they dont all share the same beat, get my drift? and despite the fact that many of the songs have different beats between instruments it all makes sense. and that is nothing short of AWESOME! :D

Seriously much respect for reacting to Meshuggah. They're a band that most people don't listen to until they been listening to metal for years... and are exploring progressive metal.
Never heard anything of them. Curious.
Bass drums have nightmares about Thomas.
I bet the whole fkn drumset has nightmares :D :D
The whole drumset hides in the closet when Thomas comes home
Every night the drums check under their bed, looking for Thomas Haake
'I'm ready for it.' Your never ready for your first time Meshuggah lol
Nope, your never ready 😂 It's an unforgettable experience.
I certainly wasn’t. Years later, Bleed turned into my practice song just to keep the picking hand tight 😂
@@metallicaspiker16 respect. Took me 6 years of drumming to play it dece
This song is the final boss in the game of "try not to headbang."
Most unfair boss of all time
cringe but true
Or maybe demiurge
I can personally attest to the difficulty in playing this song on the drums. not only are you dealing with poly rhythms, but with utter concentration and insane coordination, dexterity and endurance.

Really ? I think Mario Duplantier is in his league for sure.
Danny Carey and Haake are probably the best drummers rn
Nah brah, Haake and Krimh lechner. Danny is good, but these two are phenomenal
He's good for sure, but not quite a Haake
Wish my bank account had that many 000's
0.00$ has that many
Mine does!
It only has zeroes
:)))))
Meshuggah - Clockworks
don't waste any more days of your life without hearing this song man
it's a masterpiece
the drum play through is legit out of control
same here
It's my favorite so far
haha wow same literally my 2 favorites
Ivory Tower
Violent Sleep of Reason
Lyrics for drummers: "BEAMS OF FIRE SWEEPING THROUGH MY CALVES
"
I love the honesty of people’s reactions to Haake’s genius.
Love showing it to band students and have them focus on Haake
Yeah, even people who have no idea about drumming spesifically know it.
@Colin Masterson
Actually its Frederick Thorstendals Genius cause he Wrote the Entire Song.
Usually people out the artists in the bigger screen and themselves on the side.. wtf 😂

I personally love the drum video for Nostrum as well. The groove is just absolutely insane!
Clockworks, YES
CAFO's drum part is by Matt Halpern actually
He needs to hear
Meshuggah - Clockworks
and
Animals As Leaders - Ectogenesis
best drumming you'll hear to this day
Robber:give me your money
Haake: *pulls out drumsticks*
*robber loses both eyes and sphincter in 2 seconds*

xThe_noJx ikr?!? This is hands down one of the best Metal songs
those beautiful lyrics you admire, you've gotta realize, the whole song is about a brain aneyurism.
Celebration of the culmination of life is indeed a beautiful thing.
they forgot to tell you mans is like 40+ years old

From a tech perspective you could trigger his entire drumkit & instead of letting it play only sounds use the midi signals to drive the lights.
Brett Brewer sound booth hahahaha it's front of house
his reaction is priceless... hes like a child being born and seeing world of metal for 1st time.. keep it up bro
Raa 666 Thats why i love Alex..
It's a throwback to another, more innocent times..
Ah how memories sometimes fade ...
It's rejouvanating to see his reactions each day, to remind oneself how far you have come since your own first time
SortenRavn exactly
It was at this moment that
Alex Hefner
realized he had a fetish for djent drummers. (Don't bother fighting it, we all do.)
Vaughan Roderick I do have a "fetish" for it but my favourite drummer is LOG's
Respect for the Adler. My personal metal fetish is thicc riffs and when it comes to thicc riffs no one beats Orange Goblin.
Telling me not to categorize bands by genre is like asking me to cut my dick off. You might think it's a great idea but it's not going to happen. Fuck anyone who thinks the actual bands know what genre they are I mean seriously Lamb of God think they're punk and Lars thinks his a good drummer. No.

Me too lmao

🤘
heorldofrock hard to swallow at first. But you gain a huge appreciation for meshuggah and eventually just take to to it.
Their concept of timing is unreal
It's even more amazing that most of their songs are 4/4
If not all of them.
listen to Animals as Leaders
Or Persefone

ghost notes all day
The song is the Inception of the metal world. Layers upon layers, upon layers....
They recorded the song in chunks, Haake wasn't even sure if he'd ever be able to play the song live.
Well said!
watching Thomas Haake playing drums for the first time is like watching Discovery Channel as a little and shouting HOW THE FUK
I never thought he would be so composed and it's like wow
He has to… that's an effort of endurance and resilience. This is some mind-over-body level shit. That's somewhere in a whole concert, and his legs must hurt as hell… he's "just" got to ignore it and keep the times signatures intact. to be fair if I watch discovery channel now adays i scream WHAT THE FUCK as well, its all mermaid documentaries and realityshows.
IRON MAIDEN - FEAR OF THE DARK LIVE
JUDAS PRIEST - PAINKILLER

If you want to see some unbelievable drumming then check out Fleshgod apocalypse - the Violation
well then you have endless blastbeats (which I admit are also not that easy to play, especially at that tempo), but not its not a very complex rhythm like in this song or other Meshuggah and (for example) Tool songs.
SPEEED IS KEY! Nah but jokes aside, I agree. A reaction to the violation would be fun! :)
I love that he inverts the rythem half way through the first verse he goes tripple double tripple then switches to double tripple double , Haake is insane.
Honestly the lyrics are very well written. But Thomas Haake IS Meshuggah. Without him, this band falls apart. His drumming carries the songs and fills in the gaps between the guitar work that without his drumming, would be super repetitive.
not true at all. he is fucking beast and is most definitely a very important part of meshuggah, but the primary writer is Frederick.
Untrue. He's the machina of the band as it was, but he's neither invaluable or irrepresebable. Sorry for the poor English.
FanaticalDrummer Thomas writes all the music as in drums guitars bass and lyrics he writes the albums then sends them to his band mates who later learn them then go on tour
Thommas actually writes pretty much all the lyrics for the band..hans is just the voice to push it
Thordendal though
Dude, Haake is a fucking metronome. His timing is incredible, and it seriously looks like each of his arms is acting independent of one another and his feet are doing their own thing independently. This man is utilizing 99% of his brain power on his drumming. Purely epic. Check out his videos for Clockworks and Nostrum if you haven’t yet
Also big shout out to their lighting tech who’s matching the strobes to the bass drum patterns. He does all that shit manually.
Everyone in Meshuggah is the drummer xD
Oh he thought he was ready, cute ^^
"Supposedly this is some pretty heavy stuff."
Oh, you sweet summer child
“Oohhh my AASSS”
-Alex Hefner 2018
The sound of Meshuggah is like heavy machinery, literally. Beautiful.
It sounds like my nasty cam in my old 1963 Nova. It is cool.
What's more impressive is that the entire band is synced up with the kick drum rhythmically. Syncapated like crazy! Hands down my favorite metal band. Also note, this is the only song Tomas uses a trigger for.
You do not call Tomas Haake 'boy'.
It's Mister Haake, Sir, Lord Tomas Haake or just Tomas.
Fuckin goddamn right
Tomas Haake is the sensei of drumming
Sifu haake
ManUNkind fact..
Since he is Swedish and we dont use titles here it would just be Tomas
Meshuggah it's one of my favorite things about being alive.
Not only being one of the best drummers in history, Tomas also wrote those poesy of lyrics... in his second language. If Alex knew he might have (ironicly) had an aneurysm.
Dude has bionic legs! One of the best drummers in metal! Great reaction!
Oh yes, Haake, Duplatier and Carey are the holy trinity of drumming for me.
Listen Aversions Crown, Rings of Saturn, Enterprise Earth and Infant Annihilator... Another dimension
FMЯ oh yes...
Dude doesn’t get the nickname “the human metronome” for no reason. He’s an absolutel BEAST
The energy is from the metal bro lol you're slowly becoming a metal head living off the energy of the metal. When you hear Erra you'll see that whole feeling come together.
Brandon Jeffers Dreamcatcher is so damn good. Love the harp or wtf ever it is
scott hendricks Oh yea that's just the keyboard but seriously that song was my all time favorite by them until the Drift album dropped... Now Skyline takes the cake. I been trying to get Alex to check out Pattern Interrupted or Hybrid Earth haha
Stop calling yourself Hip-hop head
Clearly for the marketing/clickbait purpose
And clearly it has all the sense. I don't even like metal that much, I'm dragged here by a a guy from a world completely different from mine, experiencing something new for the very first time. Wouldn't care much if it was "metal for entire life is reacting to metal"...
I mean.....who says you can't be a Hip-hop head and a metalhead? Ive been listening to both for about 25 years. Only the real shit when it comes to hip-hop tho.....none of that mainstream trash that talks about absolutely nothing.
Almost agree, im not toooo sure, he didnt like Infant annihalator buuuuut he will come around to the extreme music one day
i dont think it is, he is just exploring new territory...
I love meshuggah, I'm a guitarist and I love the machine-like style and the different type of solos. If you liked this check out Clockwork, Dancers to a discorded system(live!), future breed machine(LIVE!!!) and/or combustion
Reinderp I agree with future breed machine
👌One does not simply head nod to *Bleed by Meshugga* and feel like they are in time.
That's right. You have to violently shake your head like your having an aneurysm and a seizure at the same time whilst in the middle of an earthquake while sitting in a vibrating chair.
Coincidentally, aneurysm was the first name they gave this song
You are progressively getting into heavier genres of metal, awesome!!!
Behemoth
Cannibal Corpse
The Faceless
The Black Dahlia Murder
Goatwhore
Job For A Cowboy
Give those a try !!!!
Moonlight Equilibrium!
BEHEMOTH def
Tf is Job for a Cowboy lmao
Yeahhhh but CODE ORANGE IS FOREVERRRR
Carlos Bustamante all garbage. Growling is stupid.
This will go down as one of the most epic reaction videos ever made!
Meshuggah is easily one the most influential Metal bands of the last 20 years together with Opeth. Can't really think of any othe bands on that level.
Heaviest Matter of the Universe by Gojira
listen to "art of dying" by Gojira
Seconded.
That's a great song
@@adrianasura6328 Thirded.
Do "CAFO" by Animals As Leaders.
I second this!
I third this!
The thought went through my head whilst watching this!
PLEASE DO CAFO
x4
Great song. AAL is one of the best contemporary bands (not just metal) no question about it. Tosin is one of the best musicians on the planet. I spoke with him years ago just after he released the full length album. We bonded over a quick chat about the future of metal and how awesome Meshuggah is.
Haake (hock) is a monster! He's the master of polyrythms. Now dammit it's time for FIRE FROM THE GODS!!!
Rick Bridges Excuse me is amazing.
Yep. He would playlist that song immediately. Check out the old singers band Backwordz too. Be Great is awesome.
7:15 It's an interlude brother, not a breakdown.
A breakdown is basically, the heaviest part of a song.
Random Metalhead since you like to correct people...
There’s no comma needed after “basically”, brother.
Jen G English is not my native language, sister.
Shut up Jen.
Please Drake, no need to be aggressive for such a small thing like this haha.
Thank you for defending me though, but i'm pretty sure Alex would rather see all of us love each other since we're his family.
He's one of the very few honest youtubers who *REALLY* mean it.
Drake Colvin Fuck off, Drake.
Thomas don't shred. He fucking thrashes. Love this dude.
You should really check out trivium drummer Alex Bent
Simon Pietro Barrovecchio bebetto the ninja drummer is really good too!
The sin and the sentence video/song was a pretty mind blowing way to show him of
I agree with this 100%
i love trivium but when doing a drummer comparison its hard to deny what Alex has allowed the band to do musically but he uses a lot of triggers, which isnt a bad thing, just a little bit of an edge when going heads up.....imo
Triggers is protools for live playing for a drummer....yes it makes things sound better but also allows you to play faster more intricate beats without actually increasing your foot speed. I didnt say there was anything wrong with it just that he is able to get that amazing intricacy without triggers
this is one of the hardest songs to play in drums in terms of stamina and coordination.
THe more metal you react to the more headbanging yoou do. You are becoming a metalhead....
Agreed! Welcome to the club! \:;/
CJ I know it right. He can't turn back now! He has passed the point of no return!
Here i go again... Periphery - "The Bad Thing" attempt 6 or 7, i don't know just do Periphery please 😂
Jorge David Castro Valdez hell bro i was just ab to comment a periphery song but yeah he should def do that, or graveless
"I can't imagine what his calves feel like".. Dude - they herta lot. (lets see how many drummers we have in the comments section).
escher2112 good one
escher2112 *budum tissss*
escher2112 lmao
Got the joke, double kick really isn’t that calf intensive though. He probably just works out and has natural Viking musculature.
Great pun man xD
8:21 LMFAOOOO 💀 this is so sick - love the reactions man
Dude the first time I heard that song was back when they released it on their MySpace and I was already a fan of theirs.
Hannes Grossmann is even better than Gene, if you haven't checked him out
His face when the breakdown happened 😂👌🏼
The drummer seems so still considering the double kicks 😂❤
You made me smile so big. I’m from Sweden and grew up in these boys. Saw them 20 years ago and you have to like ....appreciate it in a very perculiar way. Thanks for the video!!!!
Eluveitie! Check it out, you'll like it, promise.
I feel you! That playing is out of this world! Gives me adrenalin and goosebumps! I get that rush when musicians shred like that!
Team Four Star quote from Vegeta " Never skip leg day. Leg day is the most important day if the week."
Dude I love your excitement. Even though I’ve heard every song a hundred times.. when I watch your videos it’s like the first time listening all over again. Thank you
Suicide Silence - YOLO ( Mitch Lucker memorial Live, Randy Blythe on Vocals ).
Yura Phil from Whitechapel was better
Not about who was better, that show was incredible, Randy did it justice.
Dude, I saw them live tonight in Milan, They absolutely blew my mind, probably the best metal band I've ever seen live. damn they're incredible, nice video bro.
Can we give the rhythm guitar some love? He was playing the same thing and the combination of drums and guitar is what makes this song so amazing
I listen to Bleed or Combustion every time go for a PR in the gym!😀
Me too! I have made a death metal playlist on my channel with combustion as first song because that song motivate me as hell to workout
Underdog Strength my favorite kind of shoes to drum in is either low top wrestling shoes or heavy skater shoes
That's awesome! My brother is a drummer and he likes them as well.
Underdog Strength I meant to reply to a different comment, sorry if it didn't make any sense lol
fkn right bro!!!
Thanks for reacting to full! Finally somebody did that!
Anyone else notice that Thomas Haake put socks on during the blacked out part?
Those weren't socks. He has his ankles taped like an athlete does.
you see the sweet spot on his snare head? it's like 1 inch. amazing control
just even playing 2 different beats at once for 7 minutes isnt easy but seeing the tempo he keeps it up with is gnarly even the guitar riffs are insane although its only a few notes most people cant play this song in its entirety
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO LISTEN TO THIS SONG FOR SO LONG!! YES
Trivium ? Dream Theater? Tenacious D? pls?
racinator he has reacted to trivium
Definitely needs to check out DT and Tenacious D
Micah Mcgaffin wow! Now this is the deep and insightful commentary I know UA-cam for. Thank you so much for enlightening us with your graceful manipulation of the English language XD
IN WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVES
CelaCakes EEEAAAATTTT RIIIIICEEEEE
As Bill Burr said, it’s like he’s playing two different songs at once. Even people who don’t play drums realize how absolutely incredible this level of playing an instrument is.
As one guy said
"Legs are never missing Haake's day".
Meshuggah: * exists*
Me, a beggar child: "Excuse my poor arse, Sir, doth Thou hath some spare metal coin to giveth?"
Thomas haake has supernatural powers
Clockworks by them is another masterclass in drumming.
StirbMensch It's true, you have to have your timing down to be crisp enough to lock in with what the drums are doing.
Hagstorm boi
Saw Meshugga open for Tool. Epic night. Left stoneder than when I got there
I got confused watching the drummer's feet and arms! Great vid Alex \m/.
