Did you know the guys who does the lights for Meshuggah shows does them manually, on time, with the music? It's absolutely nuts.
Did*
Meshuggah have on of the best light shows in the game!
im pretty sure he programs them
@@TheGreenTeabagger he doesn´t watch this ua-cam.com/video/MiSr8iNwWsw/v-deo.html
I stood next to him at a meshuggah show its amazing
I say : "Go to a Meshuggah concert" : The metalheads are one of the more wholesomely nice crowds out there.
The heavier, the nicer
Except black metal…those guys are a little twisted
@@freeman7079 Sometimes... if you're not turned off by alcohol and weird feishes, they're a pretty fun crowd too.
@@freeman7079Fr fuck black metal
I've had good experiences with people at Uncle Ted, lamb of god, megadeth, tool, iron maiden, rammstein, joe satriani, Eric Johnson, and some small country shows. If you're good, everybody else will be good with you lmao. God bless!
"I hope this song makes me wanna punch a kitten in the face." ~Alex Hefner, 2020
Thou shalt not be dissapointed.
Hell yeah... and also don't punch kittens in the face. Boop that snoot.
epic
I watched this video with a kitten and he punched me in the face.
The only thing they fear is you - Mick Gordon
@@Zoulz666 yis exactly, no punch the kitties, boop their smol snoots gently and embrace the smolness
I've seen Meshuggah once. I felt the music go through me. It didn't just hit me, it blew me apart! It's like nothing else
It's an almost meditative experience.
Bill Burr said it best. He didn't really like them, then he saw them live and called it a "mind-altering experience". Now he'll go see them any chance he gets, as do I. Three times and it's still as mind-blowing as the first time.
I love how on meshuggah concerts everyone is watching and headbanging. No moshpit nothing. Ive seen the 4 times its always incredible (sry if english is bad) at least in europe I dont know how it is in the rest of the world
DanHalen_ accurate.
It’s has a drug effect.
So glad you finally heard this one. My absolute favorite Meshuggah track.
Psyrix new millennium cyanide Christ is my favorite
This is the music video that brought me into Meshuggah
Break those bones who sinews gave it motion is one of my favorites
this & Behind the sun
The Hurt That Finds You First is another must-listen! That outro!!!!!
One of the best shows I have seen was Meshuggah open for Tool. Everyone at work the next day said the show was good but they didn't like the opener and there I was wearing my new Meshuggah shirt.
To hell with them all!! 😹
@LiverHook Placed well, i would have a blast at that show. Tool and Meshugah are in my top 5
most tool fans aren’t into metal, let alone extreme metal like the shuggah
Yeah most Tool fans probably aren't into the crazy heavy stuff. But Tool has a rather large fan base too. Their fans cover all walks. I personally would love to see a Meshuggah/Tool show. Or just Meshuggah. Like Tool but have seen them several times already. Also, I was a bit slow to warm up to Meshuggah myself bit now they're one of my favorites. Tomas Haake is a goddamn machine.
When was this? I saw them at Rockville 2019 they played the same day
check out their song "new millennium cyanide christ" if you want heavy!! haha
That one is good but man : Future breed machine!! i would say that one and soul burn are my two favorite songs from them.
then watch rob scallon and co perform it on a shovel :D its amazingly good ua-cam.com/video/hFzAurZscWc/v-deo.html
Daniel Karlsson I literally came to suggest future breed machine, The “alarm” as my mates call it at the start is exactly what you need to get you going
Hell yeah! Great music video too!
That’s my favourite one too. Blew my friggin head off when it came out. Chaosphere rewrote the rule book
Loved the 3:29 mark. The "I just got slapped in my face in public in front of strangers!!!" reaction. Great band.
My favorite part of the song. Couldn’t ask for a better reaction! lol
“The only thing they fear is you”- doom eternal
Mick Gordon *
BFG division!!!
This should 100% be added to the Doom soundtrack
@@allbranflakes love that
That song is REALLY FUCKING HEAVY. Mick Gordon is a genius!
I remember last time I saw Meshuggah and this was the last song they played and after they finished, Tomas Haake, their drummer, came towards me and gave me a drumstick
Saw Meshuggah in Dallas in 2016. I’ve seen a lot of bands play live since I was a kid in the 80s, but these guys were the best. If you get a chance to see them live, you gotta do it.
This song is my starter song to get people into Meshuggah even though I'd say its on their heavier end of their discography just because that groove cannot be denied, if this song won't make you want to bang your head nothing will
Good intro choice
Totally agree it's like opposite of obzen from obzen that song is insane
New millennium cyanide Christ came out in 98 and it still slaps
The easiest meshuggah song to like.
I can't choose between this and bleed!
"The more brutal the band is, the more technical they have to be" that's kind of true but Meshuggah isn't just a "brutal" band, they are really technical in the brutality. It's a Progressive Metal band so they are really technical, and also really brutal :D
also, even if Demiurge is really heavy, it's not a very technnical song ^^
"Dancer to a Discordant System" may kill him
And i don't talk about "I"
Sora Akane they don’t call it djent for a reason
Meshuggah is the 30 grit sandpaper of metal. Yes, there's heavier stuff, but at that point you're using a grinder.
BROOOTALITY!!!
The album this song is from, Koloss, is just one big groove. Every song on there is slow and groovy as hell. I highly encourage you to listen to it top to bottom.
What about The demons name is survaillence..
Is test a slow track?
@@TricksyDK That song is in a slow 2. The actual time signature is 6/8.
Great album, it has been in my cars CD player since it came out... LOLs yes I have an older car!
@@TricksyDK Koloss is Meshuggah's best album, every single song on it is a masterpiece
Metal crowds are generally pretty chilled. There's a "we're all in this together" vibe that - again generally - means that as long as you're there & not being a dick you're one of them. You'll see 3 generations of a family at Iron Maiden shows, and I took an EDM-loving mate to a rock club (he'd not been to one before) and he had a great time. He basically said "there are loads of huge & scary-looking people here but they're all really friendly and everyone's having fun!" and didn't have the bullshit that a lot of EDM clubs had.
I say generally because certain genres, locations, and audiences for particular bands can be less welcoming to outsiders but this isn't normal.
Metal is absolutely cathartic. I've always said listening to metal calms me down after, i feed all my anger into it. So awesome to hear somebody else come to that realization too!
Alex is proof that as long as you have an open mind, you can enjoy or at least appreciate really anything. Also Demiurge is my favorite Meshuggah song 👌🏻 Simple and heavy
Shadow of intent - Malediction. Its the right kind of heavy
@Jordan Simeone damn...
LIl too heavy for Alex i think.
I prefer “The Heretic Prevails” or “The Didacts Will”, all the right kinds of brutal
"the right kind" lol
Been watching that on repeat for days now Das \w/ everything that is good about metal is in that song
NOBODY does Meshuggah's Dancers to a Discordant System reaction and I don't know why because it's literally their best song. It also has the heaviest riff of all time at around 4:40 and I don't think anyone will ever be able to write a heavier one. Be the first, Alex!
Also Meshuggah gigs are insane and everyone is lovely, you'll have your mind absolutely blown.
Dancer to a discorndant system, this one is really under rated.
even after trying to learn it for seven month now, even after listening to this song again and again, it's still blow my mind every time i listen to it
Meshuggah is heavy as hell. Check out Imminence. Their songs Paralyzed and Infectious
What's the heaviest you've listened to? 🤷
@@EzzieK probably napalm death or behemoth. Slayer has one or two good songs as well as cradle of filth. They're not as heavy though. Still good bands.

Keep it up 🤘🏼
Orbit Culture - “Nensha”, “Rebirth” and “The Shadowing” in that order, you won’t be disappointed.
As a fan of more extreme death and black metal, I usually dislike bands with the level of neat production that Orbit Culture delivers. But holy shit is that band powerful, those three songs got me hooked a few weeks ago upon first play.
orbit culture kicks ass
Thank you for sharing knowledge about bands especially extreme metal bands. I'm just a newbie in this genre and I have been listening to thrash and groove metal. Can you list more bands that I must explore? I'm just 18 y/o and I'm extremely attracted to heavy music
Going to see Meshuggah was one of the greatest experiences of my life! I went solo and was warmly welcomed into the brotherhood. I’ve been watching your videos for a few months now and seeing your journey has been phenomenal, peace and love 🖖
You have made your final step into the world of metal, enjoying it, not just for the sake of your content but because it's a release! A way to feel the energy of the musicians that play this wonderful music. Meshuggah took me a while to appreciate but it's the instrumental that keep me coming back I love it.
You should check "Fleshgod Apocalypse". They are an italian symphonic death metal band.
"Epilogue" is a good song to discover them.
Better Sadist, Ad Nauseam, Nero di Marte, Noise Trail Immersion, Progenie, Selvans or Hideous of the Italian scene
Biohazard - Punishment
You'll love the band.
yeah man, good call there. Old school metal/rap/hardcore...
I agree with the Biohazard nomination. Madball or Agnostic Front would also be a great choice to. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
The old stuff was out of this world!
Enio Everton YES
Fuck yes.
Wow! Another reaction already by Alex after a couple of hours?! And I don’t know if you reacted to Meshuggah in the past but if you’re craving for hard and heavy, then these are the guys to listen to! Looking forward to more Meshuggah reactions like this one in the near future and I do mean in the near future! Keep on rocking, bro!🎸🎸🎸
Love your reactions and your honest opinion! To answer your question, Meshuggah shows are the scariest welcoming feeling you will ever get. They put on an amazing show! The pits are insane. You leave a Meshuggah show sweaty, bleeding and smiling!
APOLLO BY CRYSTAL LAKE!!!
This is a band that you haven't reacted to yet and you are missing out! Crystal Lake is killing the metalcore scene right now
lmao metalcore scene :D
@Morbid Angel is better than Death crystal lake sounds nothing like architects lmao like wtf? If you can find me a song by Architects that sounds like Apollo, Aeon, Matrix, etc then I will gladly wait.

Man this is probably my favorite Meshuggah song! Glad you enjoyed it broham!
Finally!!! I love this band! This was the first time I saw them live and I was at this show they filmed this video!!! this is what they opened up the show with after the intro! The floor fucking went insane!! I’ll never forget this show!!
Can't wait to see this one!
Need more heavy? Would love to see you reaction to The Violation by Fleshgod Apocalypse 🤘

I think the epilogue or the Fool might be a better introduction to Fleshgod Apocalypse.
Just my opinion as a longtime listener of Fleshgod

If you want heavy, please react to "The Shadow of Effigy" by Shadows of Intent or "Backbone" by Gojira
SOI dont have a song with that name dawg
I've been to 2 Meshuggah's concerts in my life. Best days of my life.
For real, one the most insane and intense experiences i had.
The way they sound live and the atmosphere they create, dude... it's nutts
Haven't watched yet. Just wanted to say that this is my favorite Meshuggah track to date. Was psyched to see you reacting to it in my notifications.
As I Lay Dying: Nothing Left. Then a follow up reaction of As I Lay Dying: The Sound of Truth. The videos go together and are amazing!
Not allowed, metal only
Yo, I know I’ll lean far out the window with this but give Dir en Grey a shot. They are a Japanese band and absolutely legendary, not less to the fact that their singer Kyo has an unbelievable vocal range going from deep ass growls to high pitched screams during lives within seconds while he can not only sing in his tenor voice but also soprano. It’s absolutely amazing.
Definitely check out:
-Different sense
-Hageshisato kono mune no naka de karamitsuita shakunetsu no yami
Two of my most favorite songs of all time ❤️
The second one actually was a song they did for the 7th part of the horror movie series Saw for the Japanese release
I got to see Meshuggah live a couple years ago, they were touring just after their Violent Sleep of Reason release. That show was absolutely incredible. The light show was mesmerizing and everyone around me was super cool. Definitely, if you ever get the opportunity to see Meshuggah live, go for it! Cheers
Mate, you describe the appeal, the pull, and the emotional force that metal provides so many people. Happy you've discovered it. Rock on.
It's never too heavy)
Archspire - Involuntary Doppelgänger.
I'd say human murmuration instead, I think it's a better and more listenable song
Nah. Dark horizontal. Dean says it's his hardest solo, the song has crazy groove, and the lyrics paint an amazing picture.
Remote Tumour Seeker is easily my favorite from that album, and IMO the most accessible for someone who likes heavy chuggy stuff
Scream Feeding.

ghost walking and omerta are a couple of my faves. really tho it's hard to pick a fave Lamb of God track.
A Meshuggah show is like meditation. Hearing their music live is an entirely new experience and the light show they have will equally blow your mind.
By far the best metal concert I've been. They're performance is just perfect, the sound quality is fenomenal and the stage lights totally coordinated with the beats is a whole trip, makes you almost hallucinate 😅

Have seen them twice. Top 5 concerts I've seen for sure. All the light effects and all of that in the middle of the night, so damn cool. So would i recomend seeing them? Fack yeah!
Hey since you bring up not knowing what it would be like to experience Meshuggah live.. I saw them last year in Nashville with my buddy and it was hands down the best show I've ever been to. Their precision, tone, and light show are out of this world. I was entranced the whole time. If they come to your town (once shows are happening again) do yourself a favor and get a ticket!!!!!
Please do Erase me by Make Them Suffer! You'll love the heaviness and the softer clean vocals. My favourite song of 2020! Lots of other reactors love it too. Thumbs up so Alex can see!
Me: **reads title of video**
Also me: There's no such thing as too heavy!!!!!!
Literally the exact same thing I said
what about Gojira's "The heaviest matter of the Universe" hehe
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them twice and I can safely say it’s the heaviest shows I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been a death/black metal guy since the late 80s/early 90s🤘
Meshuggah changed my life bro. Loved watching you react to this bc it's totally appropriate. Ive heard Meshuggah called "thinking man's metal",i think that's apt. If you've never listened to Catch 33 start to finish, may wanna do that.
React to Meshuggah // New Millennium Cyanide Christ it has a crazy breakdown
I upvote that. I also recommend two things :
- Reacting to the official video. It's hilarious.
- Checking out Rob Scallon's "Meshuggah on shovel", it sounds even heavier. And the solo. MAAAAN THAT SOLO.

As a fellow Meshuggah Fan who has seen them many times, I can say that fans are very welcoming! There’s a mutual understanding there bro.
Orbit Culture- “Saw” or “Nensha”
Machine Head - Now We Die
All the people that I've met at Meshuggah concerts have been the cosiest most welcoming people. That goes for most metal concerts and festivals in general.
Metalheads go to concerts for the love of the music, not to drink and take a piss out of others (Well some do, but usually they have mates who take care of them if they do). They are also usually quite versed concert goers and know how to behave in a venue.
I am 1.75 m tall and weigh 60 kg, so i'm pretty thin. I've been to a meshuggah concert a few years ago for their last album release, in the pit with some giant tatooed juggernauts surrounding me. When the crowd started to move and the pit ignited, I did not feel in danger because nobody pushed me and those who fell were systematically relieved by the same people who had pushed them. It was - as you perfectly said it - cathartic and it washed me away of all the negative energy and anger that was growing in me. I screamed all my rage in a place that was made for it and where no one judged me. I felt free at the end of the concert, physically and mentally. It was an incredible experience.
Day 16 : More evanescence , My freakin thumbs are swollen Alex 😂😂❤
Heavy? How about some Rings of Saturn. Maybe the husk?
Love your open mindness dude. Meshuggah change lives. As heavy as they may be, they are their own thing entirely. It's hard not to enjoy them when you see how crazy the song writing and musicianship is.
Meshuggah are hypnotic live on stage! Amazing Band!!
I, Valiance - God's Mouth. You won't hear a heavier song for a while.

I've seen Meshuggah twice now, and there's no other band that can compare to how solid and huge they sound live, i'd do it 1000 more times if I could. They're beyond perfect live, and feeling the music in person is an other worldly experience I'd recommend to anyone who's even remotely interested in them. I hope you get a chance to!
Going to a Meshuggah concert is like sitting next to a scary ass biker dude who looks like he hates everything, but when you talk to him, he starts showing you pictures of his dog and Is legitimately a cool guy that you become really good friends with.
why not infant annihilator - swinaecologist if u wanna hear something heavy?:p i promise that its about unicorns and rainbows o:-) :p
If you don’t do Jekyll and Hyde by FFDP I will find you
Going to a Meshuggah concert is a crazy experience! Seen them live two times, the first time I stood at the front and fully headbanged/danced the whole show! Almost got whiplash from it but you can't help it when you're experiencing some of the grooviest metal bands ever! Don't regret it for even one second! 🤘🤘🤘
Seen them live too, once, in a big party tent at a festival, and it was UNREAL!!! I'd stood in even closer to the speakers that day when listening to calmer bands, but the ground was fucking shaking all the way to the back row. I and most of the other fans were shaking too, way too much to open a proper pit. Just a few hundred entranced metalheads slowly boobing our heads to the rhythm... XD
If you got the chance to go see them live do it!!! I have watched them a lot live and it is amazing. I love the moshpits and if not moshing just being slapped in the face by that sound is just amazing
Alex, ma BOY, you wanted something HARD! You should have never even questioned the POWER of Meshuggah! They are hard enough to melt your fuckin face with an OPENING! Great reaction, as always. Keep up the great work brother.
Your reactions are priceless lol
If you get the chance to see them live, take it. Crowd was friendly and welcoming and the show was incredible. One of the best i've been too.

Okay... Finally I know how people feel when their hearing my kind of music for the "first time" xD. I mean, I'm hearing sth like this the whole day... It's the best music you can chill to!
The new nothing, nowhere (DEATH) will be right up your wheelhouse. Such a cool blend between hip-hop and metal
That breakdown tho 🤘
Seen em live once definitely a show you needa go to live
Just found out there are subtitles with the lyrics on the original video. Turn them on by pressing CC.
And yes. Nobody does heavy like Meshuggah. The perfect music to summon a mathematician demon from hell.
And I was at their show. Its not scary, its great- everyone's full mental capacity is concentrated on following the polirythm and they just nod their head. Amazing!
If you go to a Meshuggah concert, you'll be amongst family. Metal is a very welcoming community in general. You're there to bang your head and feel the music. There's very little posturing possible when everyone drowned out by a wall of sound that sinks into your soul and you become one with the riff.
i knew the intro was gonna scare him lol!!! I got scared when I first heard too man! Don't sweat it!
