Happiness is TK Friday! These full edit tutorials are very helpful. Sometime you reinforce techniques I know. Sometimes I learn a new technique. All is great. Thanks Dave!
I love all the different ways we can use the panel. Happy New Year and I can't wait to Iee what you have in store for us, and i really look forward to Fridays
The pdf' file is so helpful when reviewing a particular TK panel manipulation. We keep them all for reference. Thank you Dave.
This channel is amazing, the edits, the way you explain it, and the pdf are just incredible, thank you for the hard work you put in
Thanks a ton!
thank you. TK8 is super powerful BUT too easy to overcook too LOL. thank you again
Dave, these TK tutorials are SO helpful! Thank you! Happy New Year!
Man, what a treat! A whole year of The Joy of Editing with Dave Kelly. It's been a fantastic ride and I can't wait to see what the new year brings us. I imagine we'll have the anticipated upgrade to the TK8 panel and more great tutorials from Dave. It's been great knowing you Dave!
What a wonderful edit, thanks Dave and Happy New Year 😊
Hi Again from Scotland Dave, I want to wish you a Happy New Year when it comes and all the best for the coming year!!!
Happy New Year Dave. I am just catching up from the holidays. A beautiful transformation. You continue to teach me new tricks. Thank you. I am so grateful for all of the hard work that you put into this channel.
Happy New Year Sam!
Hi Dave. A magnificent development exercise. I wish you
a 2023 full of successes and, hopefully, many more videos from you.
Thank you Jorge and I wish you a Happy New Year and Happy Editing.
This video really wraps up a year of very instructive insights into the depth of the TK action panel. Keep up the great work in 2023. Happy new year …
Love it! Have a great New Year!
Hi Dave,
Ouah what a great job with this « Cap Frehel « image. Your accent is a little bit too « American » but I pardon you… It’s more difficult, for you to say « cap Fréhel « that to do a TK8 lesson
I was very happy to see this place…. I ive near this cap….
If you come in France, I invited you de discover the emerald coast, a beautiful place for photographers.. I have a little britanny house to receive you and your family….
Thank’s a lot for your incredible work around photoshop and TK8. It’s a pleasure not only on Friday….perhaps, also for all the week ,and….the year..
I wish you a very nice year. May your plans come true and may all those you love be strong and healthy.
Stay tunes!
Thank you very much Philippe.
Amazing tutorial. Thank's a lot for sharing.
TGIF because it's TK Friday..... Between Tony tutoring you, and you tutoring us for the past year, you made us all better using the TK panel, a most gracious thank you Dave. Looking forward to learning more with you in the coming new year. Happy New Year Dave !!!
Happy New Year and Happy Editing.
Happy New Year, Dave. I can't tell you how helpful these videos have been to me. I've learned so much. When I run into a problem with one of my own images, I nearly always find a solution in one of your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise.
Dave just wanted to say, keep those PDF notes coming. Really helps with the learning process. I just got back from Antarctica and have a lot of iceberg images to process. Would love to see some tutorials on snow and ice. I can send some iceberg photos if interested. Thanks again. You've (and Tony K) brought my editing skills to another level
Thanks Daniel. Please send me some images and let me see what I can come up with. Here is my contact Link: edenbridgephotography.com/contact
Hi Dave, a Master tutorial! thank you very much to you and Tony Kuyper for the TK Panel. Happy New Year!
I can’t help but add my thanks for your dedication to the photography community and awe inspiring edits. You really make these images come alive! I plan on trying this one out tomorrow. Thank you and Happy New Year.
I appreciate that Henry. Happy New Year.
Slowly but surely, I'm starting to figure the TK8 actions out. Thanks !!
Absolutely Beautiful!! Thank Dave! I live in the PNW right on the Coast. Needles to say I have tons of Coast line images that need a little tweaking. This video is perfect!
Fantastic lesson Dave. It's great that you show us different ways to get the desired results. Happy New Year!!
Some good tips with which to end the year Dave.
Hi Dave. Happy New Year. Great tutorial. Please keep including the pdf notes. They are really helpful.
Happy New Year too.
Thanks. Happy New Year
Hi Dave, thank you for all these tutorials which made me progress enormously always very clear, the PDF notes are very easy to use, the TK panel is brilliant, thank you Dave and Tony Kuyper and happy new year. 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Michel and thanks for sharing your beautiful image. Happy New Year and Happy Editing.
Always a new thing to learn! Great video Dave!
Thanks Tom.
Dave - First - Happy New Year! You have provided us with a great 2022 with your TK Friday videos - and I look forward to what may be in store for us next year. A question. Perhaps I have missed something but it seems to me that in the past you began processing most images by using a mids three luminosity mask on the whole image to protect the highlights and shadows and then using a color grading tool with this mask. In this video you, separated the foreground, sky and water areas and then used a mids 3 luminosity mask with a color grading tool on each section. I liked this approach better as it really gives me more control over the various sections of my image. And this video really drives home just how valuable the mask calculator is! A gold medal video for sure!
Thanks Steve and Happy New Year. I do apply the Mid 3 to the whole image most of the time. I did try that in my original edit but then felt that separating the sky from the foreground worked better for this image.
@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly It does for sure and I will keep this approach in mind for as I think it will really work well for most of my landscape images!
Well you have done it again Dave. Another hidden(in plain sight) gem. The dodge and burn tools used to trim up a mask. Why oh why don't I see these tools. Maybe in one of your chats with Tony Kuyper you might ask if it is possible to modify the color gradin tool such that it shows the adjustment as slider is being made. The way it is, it is kind of an experiment to get the adjustment where you want it. I know this is picky, but if it might be possible in a future TK8 version I thought I would ask. Thanks once more for your excellent video and for taking the time to produce the notes. Happy New Year!!!!
Happy New Year Dave. Thanks for your outstanding work throughout the year
Happy New Year Peter and Happy Editing.
@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly I thought I would try something a little different on editing the colours in the foreground by using the selective colour adjustment layer for the greens and found that with greens selected from the image and then reducing the magenta in the yellows I got a nice colour and brightness boost, just wanted to share.
That also sounds like a good approach. I’ll have to give that a try.
Happy New Year Dave. 🎉
Happy New Year Dave.
Thanks Dave for a wonderful video and thanks to Michel for sharing his image. While there were lots of steps in the video, I could understand more easily the rationale for processing the image. QUESTION: As you progress through the image, do you often get to a point where you will need to save the image as an Adode PS Large Document file. I find as I do my edits, my images get so large that this often happens. Best wishes to you and your family during this Holiday Season, and Happy New Year's. Cheers, Keith
I do like to save as I go along Keith. I save my images as Tiff Files with Layers. I don't use the PSD format.
You are right Rafael. I seem to mix the Saturation with the Color Mask. Happy New Year.
Just fantastic. Your training has elevated my enjoyment of photography and editing! Any whispers of a new TK version yet?
Thanks Donald. I haven’t heard anything yet. I am looking forward to it coming out but don’t know when.
Thanks!
Thank you very much Robert.
👍👍👍
Great video. And who should complain about "free tutorials?" But I have some comments:
When clicking on various icons you should magnify the screen so we can see exactly which icon and what it represents. A pause, then move ahead
So much of this can be accomplished in Lightroom. But PS offers more refined customization
What is the real difference between PS dodging dark, midrange and light vs the more detailed masking calculation routines you show over and over?
This video was special because you repeated the same routines over and over. That is how people learn. Keep repeating.
I would like to see a special tutorial how to post process clouds. How to unblock dark "sinister" or deeply colored sunset clouds.
Finally, Happy New Year 2023!
Thank you. I feel I get more control over the dodging and burning with the masking I create with TK8. Thanks also for the constructive criticism.
Bedankt
Thank you Patrick.
Dave thanks for the well-explained tutorials, I'm learning a lot and will keep following you. I've had the TK panel for years, I'm only now learning to work with it :) happy 2023 .
Looks a bit oversaturated and I see a halo along the land -sky line. My opinion is it's over processed. I am aware everything is subjective. Thanks for sharing
You are welcome Tony. Thanks for sharing.
I like that he pushes the edits because subtle changes are often difficult to see on our phones/screens. It’s training.
Happy New Year Dave!
Happy New Year Perry and Happy Editing.
Thanks!
Thank you Ralph.
Thanks!
Thank you Steve.
