We are married 53 years and 7 months. We LOVE pancakes. Jesus is our savior and has blessed our marriage all our years together. We were told we had a 5% chance of having children and God blessed us with a daughter and a son. Hubby has survived 2 brain bleeds and did not have any bad effects from them. God cleared up my lungs last year when I had what looked like spider webs over both upper lobes. The doctors did not know what it was, they knew it wasn't cancer or covid. After a year it is now gone. At the age of 39 I had a heart attack and survived it. I'm now 75. Thank you God for so many many blessings in our lives and for answered prayers. I pray people are encouraged by your words to seek God. My favorite verse is Matthew 6 :33 Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. I was 17 when I sought God, and I met my husband 2 years later. God has blessed me more than I say on this platform, as there is not enough room. Thank you God for your mercy, love, and salvation.
God is good all the time and all the time God is good! I totally understand that there is simply no way to list all the blessings from God! We really do appreciate that you are at the table with us. Thank you so much for being a part of our channel.
I hear ya. We're in the Northeast (New England) and calling that maple syrup would sure have tongues clacking around these parts! LOL I grew up in the South and never understood the difference between the two. When I moved to New England after getting married, I was "schooled" on it right quick! LOL It's kinda like telling a Southerner that Kraft Mac & Cheese is the same as or better than homemade! Ha! To be honest, I see nothing wrong with "pancake" syrup, especialy in this economy. But I have found that pure maple syrup tends to be cheaper up here, than it is in most other areas of the country, which is obviously due to how available it is. And... I have to admit that after having the real deal for so long now, I'd have a bit of a hard time getting used to the pancake syrup again. I guess we're pretty spoiled. Those pancakes sure look great, though!
That is the same recipe I have made for years ... the best! I drop blueberries on mine and my mom would brown sausage and sprinkle that on the pancakes before she flipped them... with nine children it sure stretched a pound of sausage out for our big family... so many good memories!
Amen! Jesus has been the center of my husband, and my life together for 42 years. We wouldn't have it any other way. God bless you both. I love your channel.
Thank you so much for the kind words. We appreciate that you are watching, and we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God has richly blessed us. We truly appreciate that you are at the table with us.
Thanks for the recipe my grandkids will love them. I am 62 and in June will be married for 43 years and I tell my husband that my body feels old but at heart I'm a teenager 😂. I totally agree the only thing greater then the family of God is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Thank you all for your responses. We love hearing from each of you. We try hard to enjoy every day God has gifted us with. We have no promises for more days to live our best lives. So we believe we shouldn't waste any of them.
I’ve literally been craving pancakes…what a great recipe to try…pancakes can be made so many ways…can’t wait to try it!! Love the Aunt Jemimah story…it’s a shame what has happened to her beautiful image, but we still love and celebrate her…she was a great spokeswoman
Thanks Deb, for sharing this AWESOME pancake and syrup recipe! Thank you also, Melissa and Tom for showing us how easy it is to enjoy cooking ❤ together!! I pray that your relationships with JESUS CHRIST Of Nazareth are VERY Tight because, HE Is a serious Savior and LORD!!
I just turned 80, nearly 60 years married. You are very right, church is a very important part of a successful, happy life, single or married. Misshapen is still tasty!
I’ve been married for 56 yrs. It’s hard to believe how times fly. 7 grandchildren and 3 great. I love having them over get tired but so worth it. God is good always.
Tom I appreciate offering us to go to church as I am unable to attend due to my condition , I so miss it dearly,. my pastor comes to visit with me and my family, I loss my wife, mother and oldest son in 1990, from an acholic child in the other vehicle, my late wife and us as a family lived at our local Nazarene until we had their resting prayers at the church, life has been rough but with his help I raised the rest of our 5 children, at 62 I get as much church I can from our local radion station, thank you, and im making those cakes by golly
Huge Amen to church and the family of God!! When I was growing up Saturday was dad's turn to make breakfast. We had pancakes and homemade syrup. We were always excited for Saturday!!
I was looking for a recipe for pancakes just the other day, and you made this video. Those pancakes look delicious, and I am going to try them. I usually eat Aunt Jemima pancakes, and I never knew how she got started with making pancakes. Also, the Holy Spirit used you about admonishing us to get into a church. I have not been to church since covid and currently attend virtually, but it's nothing like fellowshiping with the saints in church. I miss that and I was talking about finding a church home this week. Please pray that God leads me to where I need to be. God bless you and your wife, and may the blessings of God continue to be upon you.
You just made my day. I am so excited that you’ll be going back to church next Sunday. I wish Melissa and I could be there to go with you. We will be praying every day this week that God will lead and direct you to the church where you need to be. The church where we need to be is not always the most comfortable church or the one that will tell us what we want to hear. I know that God has just the place for you and He will take you there. 🙏🏻

I really enjoy y'all's videos. There's no "feeding a family of 10 on a dollar a day". No super food instructions. No use this, not that. No fancy recipes. Just good, wholesome food. Fantastic. Thank you for all you do.
I do love Tom and Melissa's videos but I also love those "feed your family on a dollar a day" type videos. Some of them have been really helpful for me and my family.
Hi there, Tom and Melissa! Tom, I couldn’t agree more with your comment about church and the church community! I do a Friday morning zoom Bible study class that has been such a blessing in my life! These women are the kindest I’ve ever met and so supportive and wonderful❤️ 🙏🏻
The church family is a unique one and so much of a blessing. We have been tremendously blessed in our marriage and we are so grateful for the support from our church family all these years. I love that you have a zoom Bible Study class. How wonderful! You have, no doubt, connected with some great women of God. Thank you for sharing it with us and for being at the table with us.
@@comesitatmytable9044 oh Melissa, that’s wonderful to hear that you and Tom have had great connections with the wonderful group of fellow church members. And yes, my Zoom Bible study group is such a blessing! As I told you in a previous comment, I’m in the hospital recovering from knee surgery and these wonderful ladies sent me cards which really brightened my day. They sent it directly to the rehab center! I was thrilled to hear Tom bring up church on how important it is in that video! We don’t hear enough about that these days❤️🙏🏻
God Bless you two. You seem like soulmates. I am 62 also. It will be 37 years in August for my husband and I. We have 4 grown children, one grandson and one on the way. I am beyond blessed.
I am 76 and was just invited to join a medical study on aging in people over 75. My husband will be 78. We are healthy and active. We love your channel.
Wow! You touched on lots of great comments today! First of all, congrats on your 30 years of marriage!!! My hubby and I have been married for 38 years next month! It's hard to believe for us too. As far as church, I grew up in an amazing church family and have continued to stay in church in each place we have moved. Tom, you're right! Melissa, you're right too! Churches are made up of people and no one is perfect. I've always been told that if you find the perfect church, don't join it, because then it won't be perfect anymore. Of course, we know we won't find one, so it's not a problem. I'm thankful for the church family but even more thankful for the family of God due to what Christ did on the cross for us! I'm glad you, Tom and Melissa, feel free to share your personal thoughts! I'm so glad that you have been doing these subscriber Sunday recipes! I've really enjoyed watching them!
I agree church is important, however with so many church's turning their backs on true doctrine, be careful not to be mislead. The bible is very clear on issues. Many church's are leading people astray. There is no room for compromise on the word of God!!!! If your church is comprising on doctrine don't walk run.
This is going to sound crazy but you would be surprised how many people don't know how to make popcorn from scratch not microwave. Could you please do a video about popping corn?
Yes please show a video for the popcorn. I have an ele. Stove (glass top) & its very hard to make on that. I make mine in the microwave but not the prepacked kind. I love pancakes & will be making this for sure.
We’re all here on the same journey; no church for me. I’m a ‘happy heathen’ and I love watching your and Melissa’s videos. Good journey to you fellow travelers. 🤘😎🤘
We are very happy to have you sitting at our table. We don't have to agree on everything to still have fellowship with one another. We hope you feel welcome at our channel and know that we will always be happy to have you as a part of it. Thank you so much for watching and we hope you enjoy the pancakes soon. They are great!
@@comesitatmytable9044; You have a generous spirit, Melissa. I do feel welcome here, and I thank you for that! 🤗 I follow an Anglican priest here on YT (if that counts). Rev. Ed Trevors. He’s pretty cool. Thank you again; and Yes!! I look fwd to trying these pancakes and the homemade syrup!
Y'all are so sweet. I wish I had y'all as neighbors. You're so right Tom, church is very important and I try to never miss. Look forward to your videos everyday.
I heat up leftover pancakes in the regular toaster. I like a crispy crust on my pancakes, so I fry them the first time in quite a bit of oil. I have a great pancake recipe mix that looks similar to these. I love fluffy pancakes!
Lol, no you can not have pancakes without butter. I was sitting here thinking, now where is the butter, and there came the butter. Those look amazing. I love pancakes and french toast, but I really love breakfast for supper. I enjoy watching you so much. I love warm syrup on them too and I have never thought about making syrup and even freezing pancakes, great idea and taking them out for a quick breakfast.
I really enjoy all cooking videos. I live in Hawai'i and O' Hana- family go to church every day since and when I was small child, my Tutu- grandmother came with us and church we all to house and have a Hawai'i breakfast .Now with children and grand children we keep the tradition going
My mom made a syrup just like that, except using only white sugar. I think Brown Sugar would give it a bit more flavour! I personally love Buttermilk Pancakes. I’m trying this recipe, but with Buttermilk! 😋
I love pancakes and have been needing a good recipe from scratch! The syrup recipe is an added perk. I look forward to the fellowship on Sunday and making melody in my heart to our Heavenly Father. He Could Have Called Ten Thousand Angels. Then we would not exist. Thank you Debbie, Melissa, & Tom! 😊
I'm sure my comment will be one of many but I just have to say, Tom, I can't believe you're 62. I just figured y'all had retired early. I would've guessed 52 & that's no joke. Good job Mellisa, you keep him young.😊 My husband loves to make waffles on Sundays. I'm going to get him to try this recipe. Thank you Deb, Tom & Melissa.❤
Can't wait to try this recipe...i agree that Church fellowship is the best and very important in our lives. Appreciated the story about Nancy Greene....From her hometown too. Thank you both.
So excited to try these pancakes. Want to tell Deb thank you for sharing! Just wanted to tell you I live 27 miles east of Carroll, Iowa! We are practically neighbors 😂
Looks really good I make the same pancakes I got my recipe out of my church cookbook. One thing you forgot to add the vanilla to your Pancake batter. ❤
Thank you so much for this recipe. Can't wait to try it in the morning. Also thank you for the encouragement to get sprliritual food. The fellowship of other believers is a blessing in this crazy world. Thank you for your testimony & sweet spirit.
We have a recipe for chicken and dumplings casserole. I'll add a link to that video for you. It's a really good meal! studio.ua-cam.com/users/videoUvo9v1tZiUY/edit
Wonderful recipe! But just as wonderful were your comments on church-going. I'm somewhat homebound these days, and one of the things I miss the most is being able to be in church in person! Many blessings to you.
Today I’m making your bacon wrapped water chestnuts and just had to watch your fluffiest pancake recipe. Always planning ahead. Breakfast tomorrow WILL BE pancakes. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.
Those look very delicious! Oh my! I have my late Mom’s recipe for homemade syrup. It’s similar to that recipe. But I would like to add the Maple flavoring too. My Daddy loved Maple tasting things. Very interesting story about Aunt Jemima. Btw, I grew up in church. My Daddy was a Preacher and Mom was the Organ player and choir leader. You both are very right about going to church and being with God’s family. I love that scripture “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the House of the Lord.” Psalm 122: 1 May God bless you both! 🙏🏻 And thanks Melissa for posting the recipes! I really appreciate it! 🥰
I’m making this Saturday morning for breakfast. Aunt Jemima was my favorite and Mrs butter’s worth syrup. I will not buy pearl milling company pancake mix. The face and name were my childhood memories and it’s gone. Mrs butters worth, do you remember the commercials of the jar talking? When my oldest child was 2 I had set the bottle on the table and run to the bathroom real fast. When I came back to the kitchen my 2 year old was sitting in the middle of the table talking to the bottle. She was asking her questions. I told her that the bottle couldn’t really talk to her. She told me yes she can very firmly. 😂😂
I made my own syrup years ago when I was raising my children. Lately I was at the store needing syrup, but I saw the price. I went home and made syrup. I use Watkins maple or maple butter for my syrup. Can't wait to make the pancakes.
Can’t wait to make these. When I was a teen and worked in a restaurant I made the mistake of using 3 tablespoons of baking powder instead of 3 teaspoons in a recipe for clam fritters. Every body loved them and the owners adopted my mistake! Lol
We are married 55 years as of February 22. I agree that church is so very important in our lives. We grew up going to church and continued all these years. Our 2 children also went with us as well. I will definitely try these recipes. I love to freeze pancakes, too. When you are in the mood for a pancake, who wants to mix up a full recipe. Thanks for sharing all the wonderful videos. God bless both of you.
My dear departed mom’s most favorite food was pancakes and these are over the top. I can’t believe how fluffy they look and can’t wait to taste them after seeing you and Melissa sampling, mmm! Thanks for speaking up to your UA-cam loved ones about church and fellowship, Tom, it’s vitally important now more than ever. Jesus is my Savior and my superhero Amen! God bless you both, and thanks for getting up early….looks like it was totally worth it!!! ❤🙏
Hey Tom and Melissa, my husband and I had just arrived home from a long, enjoyable weekend away with family. We unpacked our suitcase and settled in for the evening with our regular Sunday night tv watching. I clicked on UA-cam and up came your latest video and I seen it titled, Thee Fluffiest Pancakes and I told my husband, "This is my recipe I sent in to them for subscribers week." And sure enough, it is! Made my night!!! Thank you for featuring this during your Subscribers Sunday series. :) We also loved the part about encouraging people to find a church and get connected to a church community. That is why we too can celebrate the many years of marriage because God is part of our lives, Jesus is our Lord and Savior and we love being part of His family. Everything you shared at the end, is everything I tell people too! God bless you both and hopefully someday soon, we can come meet at your table or the table of the marriage supper of the Lamb. Oh! Melissa, I too love having pancakes in the freezer as well and heating them up for breakfast. 🥰
I just made these pancakes for supper tonight with bacon and eggs. They are so fluffy I can't believe how much they fluffed up. So delicious this is my new Pancake go to recipe. Thank you so much for sharing it. ❤😂😊
Thank you so much for your comments, encouraging people to go to church. You are so right! A church family can be so important. Thanks for all the great videos.
I Love pancakes and homemade warm syrup. My Mommy made pancakes and syrup for Daddy, especially when he worked in the coal mines. Then she got the children up and ready for school. We all left the house with a belly full of pancakes. Wonderful Memories !! When I make pancakes, and of course there are extra pancakes..... Cover the pancakes and save them for lunch or snacks. I take the pancakes, warm them just a little (not much....if the pancakes are too warm the peanut butter will melt and drip or run off the pancakes) and put butter on them, then on the other side of the pancake I put peanut butter on it. Fold the pancake in half. It's delicious!! Or you can use peanut butter and jelly, chocolate spread, chocolate spread & peanut butter..... it is endless to what you can do with leftover pancakes!!! I watch y'alls videos all the time. I love the way Melissa attaches the recipe under the name of the dish. Y'all do such a good job with your videos!!! Do y'all think y'all will make a cook book? I would buy one. (Maybe 3 cook books) Y'all have a blessed day!! Take Care of each other. Geraldine
I can't wait to try this recipe. It will be great for one of the breakfasts for the family reunion. I surely look forward to all your recipes, but I really look forward to the Sunday Share recipes. I love the way that people connect to you both.
Great advise Tom. And loved the Aunt Jenina story. It reminded me of when my son was born 55 yrs ago at Winter Haven Hospital. The Gerber Co was scouting for a new face for the cereal boxes and asked us if we’d like to enter becuz our son was such a beautiful baby!! Well his Dad declined due to suspicions like what happened to the Lindbergh baby. Would have made for a college fund tho.
Thank you ‘Deb’, ‘Tom & Melissa’!!! Pancakes are my favorite but my husband is not a fan. I will love trying this❤ and I never imagined I could make my own Maple syrup 😁 I’m so excited. I was also thinking as you were about to put syrup on, “Where’s the Butter?!” LOL! Bless y’all!
My husband always says... You can never have too much syrup. This looks wonderful and can't wait to make them. Thank you. Cheers from Cupertino, California

Happy ✨️ Sunday! I made your real creamy corn 🌽 pudding, and it was scrumptious! Everyone loved it ❤ Happy Pentecost 🕊🔥 Sunday! God bless you! 😊❤😊
Thanks for this recipe Deb,and thanks Tom and Melissa for writing down the recipe for all of us
I agree church is important, however with so many church's turning their backs on true doctrine, be careful not to be mislead. The bible is very clear on issues. Many church's are leading people astray. There is no room for compromise on the word of God!!!! If your church is comprising on doctrine don't walk run.
Agree 💯
This is going to sound crazy but you would be surprised how many people don't know how to make popcorn from scratch not microwave. Could you please do a video about popping corn?
Yes! I make really good popcorn on the stove! It's so much better than microwave!
Yes please show a video for the popcorn. I have an ele. Stove (glass top) & its very hard to make on that. I make mine in the microwave but not the prepacked kind.
I love pancakes & will be making this for sure.
Church family is a different breed of wonderful.
I follow an Anglican priest here on YT (if that counts). Rev. Ed Trevors. He’s pretty cool.
Thank you again; and Yes!! I look fwd to trying these pancakes and the homemade syrup!
Thank you so much for responding back. We certainly appreciate that (and for what its worth, we do think it counts!). Have a great day!
Y'all are so sweet. I wish I had y'all as neighbors. You're so right Tom, church is very important and I try to never miss. Look forward to your videos everyday.
Thank you! That is so sweet of you to say.
We do appreciate our church family. The love and support we receive there is so important to us.
Totally agree on being involved in church ❤
I'm sure I'm not the first to mention it but I don't believe you put the vanilla into the pancake mix lol love your channel!
Godspeed!
I did forget the vanilla, but they were still delicious!😃
Love a good pancake. Will be trying these. And yes to the freezer, both pancakes and french toast.
I’m a pancake enthusiast. Had homemade pancakes this morning. My recipe is almost exactly the same. They are indeed fluffy pancakes.
Yes I love my church ! Teachers of the word I’ve been listening to for 15 years . I love them so they always teach from the Bible ! 🙏🏻
I fry up extra pancakes then toast them on the rack in my toaster oven, as "leftovers." Lightly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, yum!
Ooo, I love the idea of toasting them in the toaster. I’ll have Melissa try one of those tomorrow morning. Thanks for the suggestion.
I heat up leftover pancakes in the regular toaster. I like a crispy crust on my pancakes, so I fry them the first time in quite a bit of oil. I have a great pancake recipe mix that looks similar to these. I love fluffy pancakes!
@@tomwyant9297 You bet!
Thanks for this recipe Deb and thanks to Tom and Melissa for preparing it!
My mom made a syrup just like that, except using only white sugar. I think Brown Sugar would give it a bit more flavour!
I personally love Buttermilk Pancakes. I’m trying this recipe, but with Buttermilk! 😋
I've been making homemade syrup for decades. But I already know what I'm having for supper.
I love my church family. So thankful for them.
Love pancakes! I was asking you where the butter was, like you could really hear me. Lol!😂
No such thing as a misshaped pancake, no matter what they are great. I will make these next Saturday for my family when the come for breakfast. Yum
Awesome video ❤
Thank you for the recipe, I will find a church. God bless 🙏🏻🙏🏾😊
We hope you find the blessings of a church family soon. We really do appreciate that you are at the table with us. Have a wonderful afternoon.
Im glad someone else is 62 besides me lol. I turn 62 in August. Going try these pancakes
Well done, well said, love this series. Thank you!
She not the only one who loves pancakes I love pancakes too they are so good
You forgot the vanilla in the batter.
Wonderful better than grocery store
I'm sure my comment will be one of many but I just have to say, Tom, I can't believe you're 62. I just figured y'all had retired early. I would've guessed 52 & that's no joke. Good job Mellisa, you keep him young.😊
My husband loves to make waffles on Sundays.
"YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG WITH A RECIPE FROM AN IOWA GIRL!!!!
I sure appreciate the recipe too 😋
THANK YOU . I REALLY LOVED THE AUNT JEMIMA STORY, SHE SOUNDED LIKE A LOVELY PERSON. YOU TWO ARE LOVELY TOO.
Thank you so much! We really appreciate that you are watching our channel. It's great having you at the table with us.
Oh my, I love pancakes
Those look delicious 😋 now I want pancakes 😋I agree about what you said about going to church have a blessed day 🙏
Looks really good I make the same pancakes I got my recipe out of my church cookbook. One thing you forgot to add the vanilla to your Pancake batter. ❤
Saw that too..
Those are some beautiful pancakes!🥞 I cannot wait to try these! Deb kudos to you for sending in this recipe!👏
Thank you so much for this recipe. Can't wait to try it in the morning. Also thank you for the encouragement to get sprliritual food. The fellowship of other believers is a blessing in this crazy world. Thank you for your testimony & sweet spirit.
You guys are a treat me and hubby love watching you and giggle at your banter. Thank you ❤❤❤
Passing this on to my family.
I'm 60 and I feel the same way, and we do go to a wonderful church family. Thanks for your encouragement.
You are very welcome. The church family is a unique and special group of people. We are so grateful for the blessing they are in our lives.
@@comesitatmytable9044I really enjoy your recipes.
I'm trying to find a recipe for chicken and dump buns.
We have a recipe for chicken and dumplings casserole. I'll add a link to that video for you. It's a really good meal!

I love Pancakes. Yummy.
Wonderful recipe! But just as wonderful were your comments on church-going. I'm somewhat homebound these days, and one of the things I miss the most is being able to be in church in person! Many blessings to you.
I will try this recipe. So many pancake recipes are not good. These look delicious. Tom, hope you and Melissa are doing well. ❤😊
Today I’m making your bacon wrapped water chestnuts and just had to watch your fluffiest pancake recipe. Always planning ahead. Breakfast tomorrow WILL BE pancakes. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.
I love pancakes! I have some syrup from Main my cousin brought me now I can use it!
I love that scripture “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the House of the Lord.” Psalm 122: 1
May God bless you both! 🙏🏻
And thanks Melissa for posting the recipes! I really appreciate it! 🥰
Agreed! Church is vital in my life.
Bravo, fantastic hotcakes I think I’ll have some for breakfast. Have a wonderful day at church. Blessings and aloha.
Awesome!
I made my own syrup years ago when I was raising my children. Lately I was at the store needing syrup, but I saw the price. I went home and made syrup. I use Watkins maple or maple butter for my syrup. Can't wait to make the pancakes.
My Mother made pancakes and homemade syrup for my sisters and brothers a lot. We loved them. We are a church going family. Amen
Looks like it will be so good!
👌Great recipe, also simple and easy .
When you said life is short, I finished your sentence with, eat the pancakes 🥞 ❤
I think the sugar- free syrups available are fantastic. Thankfully!
I agree. It's so nice to have a sugar free option that's good!
I take the pancakes, warm them just a little (not much....if the pancakes are too warm the peanut butter will melt and drip or run off the pancakes)
and put butter on them, then on the other side of the pancake I put peanut butter on it.
I’m looking forward to making this recipe.
The best advice to give.
I love going to church!
Those pancakes and the homemade syrup look absolutely amazing and Yummy!♥️😋
Thanks for the GREAT RECIPES and the good advice Tom and Melissa. Will be sharing this video. Thanks, Fred.
