Porqué los americanos complicais tanto la receta francesa de los crepes? Leche, huevos, pizca de sal y harina; sirven para salado y dulce 🤔🤔🤔 el secreto está en hacerlos muy finos y yá está
My Mother taught me to never crack your eggs over your other ingredients. Put in a separate bowl. That way there is no chance you will get a bad egg or eggshell in your ingredients. I am 71 so I’ve known and practiced this for a long time. Just a tip❣️
I'm French and if you want to make your crepes specials, ADD DARK RUM, about 10% of what you put in milk. The smell and aroma will make your crêpes unique. I don't recommend it for savoury crêpes, only for sweet ones. In any case, the recipe in this video is very nice. The proportions look perfect, especially the way you add the ingredients, thanks

Lovely recipe. Here in South Africa we don't add so much sugar and no butter. A teaspoon full of baking powder makes them lighter. And a little bit of oil to the pan for frying. Then dust them with cinnamon sugar and roll up. Heavenly, and they are made especially for rainy days as a token of appreciation for the rain...
I like them flat so no baking podwer and plain flour. For american style, yes, raising flour and baking podwer but for crepes no. Here, in England they put sugar and lemmon but I prefer them just with butter
Najpierw mleko mieszam z jajkami, solą i łyżeczką cukru, cukrem waniliowym. Do wymieszane masy stopniowo dodaję mąkę z płaską łyżeczką proszku do pieczenia. Masa nie może być gęsta. Nalewam niewielką ilość na patelnię i smażę cieniutkie naleśniki. Są jak puch. Smażę na oleju z dwóch stron. Jeżeli olej dodam do ciasta to smażę bez oleju. Preferuję smażone na oleju. Smaruję je białym twarożkiem wymieszany ze śmietanką, cukrem i cukrem waniliowym. Całość zwijam w rulonik. Pycha! Mieszkam w Polsce, pozdrawiam.❤
As a South African, that is the biggest treat on a rainy day, just as you have commented, nothing better than those, love them, one more tip, don't leave your pancake in a plate and quickly go and do something, it will be gone.😁
Hi, watching from the French Alps ! I have been doing pancakes for my family every sundays for 40 plus years. Your receipe is fine. Since they are eaten for breakfast, I put a coulple of coffee spoons of brown rhum. I skip the sugar but we use mapple sirop, fresh fruits to stuff them. Thanks for sharing your receipe. Bon appétit!
Merci for sharing your tradition, it's a wonderful twist to add rhum for breakfast pancakes! Enjoy your Sunday delights with maple syrup and fresh fruits! 🥞🗻 Bon appétit!
These are what we had IN England growing up. They are usually a bit thinner though, not quite so much batter. The very best way to eat them is to (immediately after taking out pan) sprinkle flat pancake with white sugar. Then squeeze fresh lemon juice all over. Fold, or roll up. Then spread some butter on top and sprinkle with a little more sugar and lemon juice. Absolutely delicious!!! Once you eat them like this, you won’t want them any other way. Since the pancakes are so thin they cook very quickly. They are ready to turn when they detach when you shake the pan. Cooking too long can make them crunchy and hard to roll without breaking.

My mother in law who was perfect at both cooking and baking and lived until 96 years, told me to mix the dry ingredients separately from the wet and only then to combine them. Also instead of sifting the flour with salt, sugar and baking powder, you can use a large bowl and dry whisk them. So cool .
That's a great tip from your mother-in-law! Mixing the dry ingredients separately before combining them is a key step in making perfect French pancakes. 🥞👌
Coucou ! Je suis française et je tiens à vous préciser qu'on ne met pas de levure chimique dans la pâte à crêpes....en option seulemen t bière, rhum ou éventuellement de la vanille....bonne dégustation ! 🤗
Also and traditionally the french garnish these pancakes (crêpes) in the hot pan for sweetness with sugar (which becomes runny) and cinnamon, or chestnut cream (with vanilla) then flamed with Grand Marnier (Liquor at orange), then decorated with chantilly (Foamy cream) sprinkled with toasted lamellas almonds, or with Nutella, or with jam… and for salty with an egg, pork ham or without ham, grated cheese and lots of pepper, or only cheese and lots of pepper... From a french in Marseille (⚜️France). C
That's much similar to the pancakes I've had growing up in Brazil! Only difference is we'd roll them like enchiladas, with cheese and sauce on top. Very interesting and calming video, I am definitely subscribing!
Lemon juice fresh squeezed and white sugar. Spread generously on flat crepe and roll into a thin log. Be careful to hold the ends up so sweet filling stays in while you eat. Repeat until full, or batter runs out. 🥰
Looking on from France. For genuine French pancakes( crêpes)We dont usually add vanilla and always let the batter rest before cooking. 😊 there is a different recipe for savory pancakes though. This one here is for sweet crêpes. Serve with jam, nutella, or even lemon juice and sugar and why not whipped crème
Thanks for saying that as I was always taught to rest the batter as well to allow for the flour to bloom. I'm always cautious of any crêpe recipe that skips this step. I'll definitely give this one a shot but will rest it before using. 👍
@Geeparis 👍 excellents conseils ! 😉😉
Watching from Belgium, preparing now. You really need a ceramic pan (the cheap tefal pancake pans don't really work to shake'm off like that) But after the 1st flip all goes easy. I used 40 grams of salted butter (no need for a pinch of salt) and added cane sugar also in the warm milk. Vanilla extract at the end. They were nice and got 13.5 pancakes out of the batter. Not bad for a (lazy) Sunday.
It was perfect until the end. First, secret tips you can add one tea spoon of Orange Blossom for the flavor and a cork of Brown Rhum, if you do not have this kind of pan, you can oiled it with sunflower oil for each crêpes. To spread the oil, use a little potato (or a carott if you do not have) cut in half and stick it on a fork. This is french pancake ONLY for desert, use only sugar, jam, or chocolate on it, never use meat or cheese. If you want the recipe of French 'galette bretonne' (salty crêpe) use only buckwheat flour, water, and salt. Bon appétit, and cheers from Paris !
They’re too thick. You want to add dark rum and either orange blossom or grated lemon rind for flavour. Mix in some beer with the milk for a lighter texture. No sugar or butter in the batter. And this is the recipe for sweet stuffing only. For savoury stuffing, make the buckwheat version, « galettes de sarrasin ».

One of our favorite breakfasts made by our mom when we were small....French crepes. In summer we would have strawberries on top. Next try Crepe Suzettes! 🖐 Wisconsin
I too had these growing up in England. The batter was a little thinner though. We always had them with lemon sugar. Right after removing from pan, sprinkle with white sugar and squeeze fresh lemon juice over. Then fold or roll up. Spread a little butter on top and sprinkle with a little more sugar and lemon juice. Absolutely delicious. You can make a whole batch and put them in the oven on very low, heat to keep them warm while making the rest. When I make them for my grown sons they fight over the last one!!!!!!! Enjoy!❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
@pamelasmith2625 yep...ours were much thinner batter too. Being midwest northerners...next to Canada if Michigan and Minnesota hadn't taken our land 😆...we had syrup drizzled inside, rolled and drizzled again. It was the food you could eat until sick! Did I see the Canadian flag? 🖐
We always served our crêpes with fresh diced apple mixed with cinnamon sugar as a filling/topping and sprinkled over with powdered sugar. If you want to be fancy sprinkle the powdered sugar thru a paper doily to give it snowflake pattern. Will really impress house guests but super simple. Great for Christmas brunch.
In France, "pancakes" can refer to both crêpes and American-style pancakes; this recipe focuses on the thin and delightful French crêpe. 🥞🇫🇷 Bon appétit!

Hello, I made crêpes following your recipe. Please let me tell you that they are incredibly good!. My son loved the french crêpes this morning and so did I. I added bananas, strawberries, condensed milk, maple syrup and cream cheese as toppings. So good! Thank you for your recipe, and to the mixture I added two lemons on mine and the taste was amazing!
I love the recipe!! Thank you! The only thing i do different is i mix it all in the blender, then it is guaranteed to be smooth, and it is excellent to pour from. ND Esy clean up! Thank you for a great recipe!

Thank you so much for this easy recipe. I have always wanted to learn how to make pancakes myself instead of buying the mix. I am watching your video from Brasilia-Brazil.
Hi I m french. I ve always mixed instinctly the ingrédients the way you do :) i add both vanilla sugar AND vanilla flavour. I do not turn the pancake like you, only with this little jump move to retrn it. To know if the first side is cooked enough before switching side, I shake the pan sideways, if the pancake sticks and doesn t slide on the pancake, well it is not cooked enough, wait a few time.my daughter says my pancakes are the best 😊

Thank you! Seattle, WA. We just came back from the cruise 🚢 and while traveling we were served absolutely delicious pancakes with some kind of orange “syrup “. Now I am looking for the recipe of that decadent “syrup “
So glad you enjoyed your cruise from Seattle! 🛳️ That orange "syrup" might be a citrus glaze; try mixing orange juice, zest, sugar, and a bit of cornstarch to recreate it! 🥞🍊
My mother usually prepares some crêpes for dessert and keeps a few aside to prepare one of my favorite dish: crêpes au jambon. Basically, you put a thin slice of ham in a crêpe, then put these crêpes into a dish, you then cover with béchamel, put some grated cheese on top and put in the oven at 180° until the cheese melts and forms a crust.
That sounds délicieux! 🤤 The perfect mix of ingredients really does make all the difference for versatile crêpes, from sweet to savory like your crêpes au jambon. Bon appétit! 🥞🧀

I too eat them with lemon juice and sugar. The very best way to eat them. We ate them in England growing up and my two sons (grown up now) just love them. ❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
@@pamelasmith2625 I am from England Pamela 🏴🇬🇧
They turned out very good, but I made them too thin, the last one from the leftover dough turned out best because it was thicker! I recommend it and thanks, greetings from the center of Poland.🎉
Cieszę się, że przepis się sprawdził! 😊 Grubość naleśników to kwestia gustu, ale super, że znalazłeś swoją idealną. Pozdrowienia z powrotem do centrum Polski! 🇵🇱🥞
Fortunately there is no baking powder or baking soda in this particular recipe. I believe you're referring to a different recipe/ list of ingredients.
@@sandc4101It wasn't baking powder, it was vanilla powder. At first I also thoughtso😊💕
That's much similar to the pancakes I've had growing up in Brazil! Only difference is we'd roll them like enchiladas, with cheese and sauce on top.

Lemon juice fresh squeezed and white sugar. Spread generously on flat crepe and roll into a thin log.
Be careful to hold the ends up so sweet filling stays in while you eat.
Repeat until full, or batter runs out. 🥰

Scottsdale Arizona, I grew up with these although a little thinner. We eat them while hot adding a little butter and maple syrup. So delicious.
That's a scrumptious Scottsdale twist! 🥞 Butter and maple syrup truly make everything better, don't they? Enjoy your pancakes!
Thank you for the valuable insight! 🥞🇫🇷
Thanks for saying that as I was always taught to rest the batter as well to allow for the flour to bloom. I'm always cautious of any crêpe recipe that skips this step. I'll definitely give this one a shot but will rest it before using. 👍
@@katelehman207…do you rest it in the fridge and do you add the butter to the mixture? not heard of that before.
That’s some odd looking vanilla.
@Geeparis 👍 excellents conseils !
I put everything in at once and never have lumps. I like the idea of the butter, where I've been using oil. 😁
I'm so glad you found my tip helpful! Mixing all the ingredients at once is definitely the key to achieving lump-free French pancakes. 🥞👌

Watching from Belgium, preparing now.
You really need a ceramic pan (the cheap tefal pancake pans don't really work to shake'm off like that)
But after the 1st flip all goes easy.
I used 40 grams of salted butter (no need for a pinch of salt) and added cane sugar also in the warm milk.
Vanilla extract at the end.
They were nice and got 13.5 pancakes out of the batter.
Not bad for a (lazy) Sunday.
Sounds like a great Sunday in Belgium! 🥞👩🍳 Glad the ceramic pan and your own twist on the recipe worked out for you. Keep enjoying those pancakes!
Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely try adding Orange Blossom and Brown Rhum next time for that perfect French pancake flavor! 🥞🍊🥃
I live in Bretagne and believe me, a galette with only water and not milk is not good at all.
@@KateOBrienCreative oui mais toi tu mets du lait ribo, on peut avec de la bière aussi
I've heard of adding lait ribot but not beer! I'll have to try that. I wonder if you could add some cidre too? @@sogeking421

Sure, you can use the same batter for Yorkshire pudding! Happy cooking! 🥞👍
No! you can't use this recipe for Yorkshires, but you could for American Popovers, a little different for Yorkshire, not as runny, no butter, and definitely no sugar.
Not if you adding. Sugar, vanilla. And too thin a mixture for Yorkshire pudding batter.

Hi I m french. I ve always mixed instinctly the ingrédients the way you do :) i add both vanilla sugar AND vanilla flavour. I do not turn the pancake like you, only with this little jump move to retrn it.
