ends of the earth is instant S because i felt like a total sack of shit when playing it for the first time and when the story and maps felt like they just went more and more massive it brought the energy a bit down to tell a sad story not because of sum fucked up bout crackheads or predators but trying to make the ends meet by pulling your family down to the world of crime and you having to enforce the law regardless of the sad state that the family is in
To me Valley of the dolls is an S tier map. I love playing on it, i love the layout on this map, the mix of dark and light places, enemies on both outside and inside, and the enemies are well armed so you have to be both careful and accurate. I probably have like 50 hours on this map alone and im still not bored of it lol.
It is actually insane that Sins is not S, let alone carriers. Both of those map have such strong aesthetics and nail bitingly intense moments. They are a joy to play and the design is actually some of the bst I've seen in gaming. Greased palms deserves F. This is coming from someone who completed the Ironman, no officer deaths, all S rank challenge.
I agree about Sins, but Carriers has major visibility problems once you go external. It’s virtually required to lead with your AI through the woods to the church, it’s very difficult to see anything around that corner.
This comment was spot on. Question though, be honest. Did you Alt-f4 for the no officer death run? I’m asking you because anyone who’s done all the S ranks is automatically a far above average player. As someone who did it that way (alt f4ing), I’m starting to believe it’d be impossible to do the way the devs intended. Game would need to be played near flawless with all the RNG luck in the world to be able to do it… for like probably 6 hours straight in theory. Way too many utterly bullshit ways you can die even if you play extremely intelligently
@@CallMeMang My philosophy was that if I made the mistake I owned it, but when the AI did something that was blatantly BS or my SWAT AI did something I didn't tell them to do and got killed, I would ALT+F4. i think a bank robbery map would be cool, but it wouldn't be very reallistic, especially for a game that focuses on realism like RoN. most bank robberies dont consist of masked individuals going in guns blazing payday 2 style, they're normally much more subtle than that. even when they aren't, bank tellers are instructed to only sound the alarm after the robbers have left. maybe a good way to implement this would be having the criminals go in undetected, but the bank employees find out and sound a silent alarm. then the swat arrive, and when the criminals realise that the building is surrounded, they take hostages.
@@Zarguse The whole rave floor part in my opinion makes the map GOOD. You are dealing with armed maniacs and having strobing pink and blue flash everywhere makes it chaos, and its really good like that

No screaming civilians, barely any bodies anywhere, it absolutely sucked and Neon Tomb was a way cooler depiction of a violent shooting. Speaking of Neon Tomb, too many flashing lights in a night club? Really? If it's that bad, just go up to where the body of the Deadmau5 ripoff is and turn off the lights and music ya baby. Props for giving credit for the footage you used though, nowhere near enough people do that.

I feel like you just got really lucky with Elephant. That mission is completely fucked and even when I beat it it I got an F. The dual timed mechanics of the active shooting and bombs is way too much especially that early in the game, and I'm not sure how you haven't seen any civilian deaths. Multiple times a civilian got shot right as I was entering the building, and unless you split your team it's basically impossible to complete both objectives in time. Plus your guys don't announce when they've found a bomb, and can't defuse it themselves. Easy D tier for me, even an F. I wouldn't mind it if it was a challenge map you unlocked after all the other missions, but as it stands it's an cruelly difficult mission toward the beginning of the game.
Personally I would move Valley of the Dolls and Elephant to D tier, I would then shift everything else up one tier(including greased palms). Since the home invasion DLC came out I’d put Lawmaker at an A and Narcos at a B, dorms would go into D tier as well. Most of the maps are good, but some are either boring or very strict in how you can play them in a smart way. I’ve S ranked everything and gotten through Ironman without casualties, and even I have trouble with certain sections of maps. The biggest offenders are; Neon Tomb: dance floor and pool room, Carriers of the Vine: everything external, Port: long range engagements (primarily due to visibility and how fast suspects pick you up), Greased Palms: nearly the entire map. However, all of those maps are good in some aspect, to get a D tier it must be a ‘skip’ map for me. For the first two in D tier, Elephant and Dorms, I just don’t have fun playing them. Elephant is a good map, but I strongly dislike the mode, it’s just walk through every door with your AI conga lining behind you until you either neutralize the suspects, or restart because they perfectly evaded you and have started killing civvies. Dorms just doesn’t play well with Swat AI. Valley of the Dolls is too restrictive and just difficult enough to get frustrating. There’s ONE tactically sound way to clear the map, anything else puts you and your team at significant risk for no reason, and the suspects are fairly deadly and bullet spongey. One major improvement they could make would be to close the blinds, those windows are THE reason no other strategy works. Other than that I think your list was pretty decent.
