In my case, my 2001 will lock me out, whether I lock it or not. When it does this it will not respond to the fob or the key. I have to go in through the tail gate and manually open the doors. It will also continually try to lock the doors even if they are already locked. 3 to 4 days of that and the battery is drained.
I'm curious why you didn't just order a factory unit to replace the bad unit ? Then all the wires would match and it would just plug in. I'm having the same issue with my sisters Pt Cruiser. Thanks !
These units are common to fail and I wasn't going to risk installing another faulty unit . I don't know if you can buy a new unit, but if you can I'm sure it's a lot more expensive then you also have to pay someone to program your remotes to the new unit. Having all the wires in one spot made it extremely easy to install the after market unit and I have had zero issues with it which I am completely satisfied with.
Nice work dude 👏
Thank You!
You're welcome, hope it helps you out 👍🏼

I used to pull the fuse on mine for a few days when it would act up.
