Short, sweet and worked instantly for my Durango 2003. I truly appreciate it brother. God bless you and yours. Head on a swivel, the s* is soon gonna hit the fan. My home your home. Be well.
Actually just purchased that exact model from O'reilly. I have 2003 Ram 2500, it worked PERFECTLY....Done in 5 minutes sitting in O'reilly's parking lot. But then again, I followed the exact directions that came with the product.
UPDATE; I ordered 2 more fobs from ebay $13.76 total for both shipped to my front door. Used but OEM, fair condition. I wanted to see if the Dorman programmer would program these OEM (at the same time) SHAZAM, Success!! I HIGHLY recommend the Dorman programmers!
You have to turn it as if you're going to turn over the engine, but don't turn the engine over. Also don't have it on accessory by turning the key towards you. You plug it in it will beep 3 times. Wait about a minute for a single beep. Press the unlock and lock at the same time. I didn't even have to hold the unlock button. I pressed the unlock and the doors unlocked even before I turned the truck off and removed the programming device.
I just bought the same Key programmer and it worked without a hitch, by following the instructions as written. I was able to program 2 remotes and they work as expected. This sure saved me a ton of money.
Just bought this set for my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee along with an extra fob and it worked perfectly. I counted out loud One Thousand, One Thousand Two..etc. By my count you held them together for only 2 secs and the unlock for 1 second..
Ace Hardware had "chip keys" for my car for $60 Vs $300 dealership wanted. They also sell remotes, but I have no experience with that option. Merry Christmas and Happy New Mr. Panda!
ok just did this SAME PART# to my 2004 Dodge Ram 2500. It works PISSAH you gotta do the lock and unlock , than the LOCK, NOT the unlock... IT WORKS GREAT!!! I was able to program 2 remotes, 1 found in the junk yard, and the 2nd from dorman. both work GREAT!!!!
I just bought this and it worked perfect. Turn car to run Plug in programmer Wait 10 seconds Hold lock and unlock together for 3 Then press lock for 2 seconds It makes a confirmation noise. I waited two minutes and then tested like it said. You hit the unlock for 2 seconds instead of lock.
@@monomcmoist7312 it actually depends. I've heard that "some" trucks that have a key hole on the passenger side didn't come with the remote sensor, but that sensor can be added to a plug behind the dash gauges. Also, it did not work on my wife's 06. Her truck has the fob on the actual key and needs a dealership or locksmith to program it. Mine is an 05 Ram 2500, anything 02 to 05 should work. I had no fobs at all. One fob came with the programmer and I ordered a second extra fob only, worked like a charm for both. The instructions on the back of the pack do say what this video explained but mine came with a little paper that said that after you hold the lock and unlock together, then you press the lock for a few seconds.
your problem might be the same as mine. I just bought a 2006 dodge ram cummins turbo diesel and was trying to get a keyfob to work in mine too. couldn't! went to my local dodge dealer only to find out after giving him my VIN that my truck didn't come with the keyless entry. and it was going to cost me over $300.00 just to get it installed if I wanted it. did a little searching online and found out that in my truck there's a factory module you can buy that plugs in on the back of the gauges and then you can program remotes and have keyless entry but they don't put that module in all of them so yours may just be like mine and there is no keyless entry module there to program it to.
My experience has been a little different. I have a 2003 Dodge Caravan Sport. I tried every combination with the included key fob and I would get chimes from the programmer so I know the battery was working but the fob still would NOT lock/unlock my doors. I had purchased some other key fobs and when I tried programming them, they worked right away. I don't know what the problem was but I'm happy. Still can't get the included fob to work.
I watched the actual dorm an instructional video and you hold him boat down for 4 seconds which was actually 5 and then wait 1 second then hold the on lock for 2 seconds and then release
The likely problem is the RKE module is bad in the car....that is what needs to be programmed and if it is bad, you cannot program them. The dealer will charge you about $300 just to find out the RKE mod is bad and then tell you that the part is no longer made and there is no replacement mod for it.
That’s exactly what happened to me. Any advice on how to proceed? Unlocking the truck with a key sets off the alarm. I got a new RKE module installed but I don’t know how to get it programmed to the truck now
Your supposed to press the lock and unlock buttons for 3 seconds then the lock button for 2, also you can only plug the programmer in 3x max before it stops working.
"Press LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the Key-fob SIMULTANEOUSLY for 3 seconds. Press the UNLOCK button for 2 seconds" You my friend held both....lol. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS then it might work.
I have an 07 Chrysler and this product says it only supports up to 06 but i know that's because the 07 forward models have a different clicker style and program method. My question is will this tool still work to get into the programming mode on an 07 because if so i can have the correct fob and know the correct programming method to do it on my vehicle.
If I install one of these for my 97 f250 will it cause the alarm system to go off if opened when locked Or is this only to have a remote to unlock and lock doors?
I want to reverse engineer this Dorman product as it will pull the security pin from SKIM module to put truck into programming mode when all fobs are lost. My fancy scanners can't even do that, need to EEPROM the skim module to find out what the security code is.
So I have 2 2003 Jeep grand cherokees one has a remote one doesn’t I just got this today and in the first Jeep I plugged it in it beeped 3 times then nothing remotes wouldn’t program I decided to try it on the other Jeep with the remote same year and model as the first I plugged the box in the red light on the bottom stayed solid unlike the other Jeep and the remotes both programmed after the initial three beeps I’m lost I don’t understand why it works on one but not the other they are literally the exact same cars
I actually figured out my problem in my Jeep the passenger door was replaced and it didn’t have the remote receiver in the new door so I have to replace the passenger door module and I should be good to go
just did it working good, attn: need to hear a chime sound when you press lock and unlock buttons at same time and then press LOCK button ( not the unluck button ) what a little mistake by instruction hahaha, if don't hear a chime sound that means there faulty or defective key fobs never work, purchase the Dorman programmer work but the key fob came with it doesn't, lucky had purchase two key fobs ready from ebay done it right a way........
I have an 04 Chevy impala and it didn't work for me neither 75 buck down the drain garbage there is no other videos show what to do when it doesn't work

Hello! Did you use exactly this Dorman 99164 for your Jeep? Do you think it will work on my 2.7 CRD version? Year 2003 btw
@@ValYukhnenko yes it was the same doorman product. They seem to have good products, you should try it!

Both key fobs ebays and the one it came with
true has been showned :) thanks for real true video man
Out of curiosity when you were trying to program this the very end step says to wait two minutes before trying the remotes did you try that?
It worked on my 2004 Grand Cherokee
Would be nice if this worked to program the key also. Especially when you only have 1 working key.
These do not work if you do NOT have a working remote. These do not work as a lost remote. You have to have a working remote for this to work.

Hey a little late but the remotes I have One factory other clone take two (2) CR2016 thin batteries not one thick CR2032
I have a prowler also same issue no getting around the $300 dealership charge unfortunately 😕 sucks
Bought one for Buick. Was told after it never worked that they are programmed to die after 3 uses! They don't tell you that!
M H what is supposed to die?
The OBD interface is designed to only work 3 time or 3 power-ups, then it dies and won't work again.@@bikelife_frank6109

But dis you check rpo code to see if its a function that would wirk?
You have to press those buttons simultaneously at the same time bro
