One thing to think about when it comes to Lucifer is that he isn't just the King of Hell, he also represents the Sin of Pride (with the other Sins appearing in the sister series, Helluva Boss). He might not come across as a very proud person early on, what with the self-deprecation and isolation, but really, those are symptoms of his pride being crushed when he Fell. Leading up through the beginning of More Than Anything, his pride manifests as an assumption that if he's tried something and failed, no one else could possible succeed where he didn't. Over the course of the song, however, his pride in his daughter overwhelms his own pride.
JSYK, the accordion is likely a stealth reference to Weird Al, because at one point Vivziepop (Vivienne) said she headcanoned Lucifer as voiced by Weird Al. (Jeremy nailed it, though... he nails EVERYTHING he performs, it's unfair)
Okay so I didn't manage to stay for the entire live because family came over unannounced, but here I am! Hell's Greatest Dad is so fun, I adore Alastor's and Lucifer's dynamic. Boys took one look at each other and immediatly went "yeah, no, I hate your guts." Gotta love Alastor just stealing other peoples' songs lol. More Than Anything is my absolute favorite song in the series, Jeremy Jordan did so incredible here. Just... Lucifer being so broken from Heaven casting him and his dreams out and him trying to protect Charlie from the same disappointment, and than promising his support to her dream whatever may come of it, hits me right in my daddy issues. I adore the character of Lucifer in Hazbin Hotel, he's my favorite! Jeremy and Erika also sound so so good together, they're both amazing. "I'll shelter and adore you more than anything" - Casper to Polites
I CAN'T WITH THIS REACTION. It was perfect, everything to the last millimetre! I loved every part you stopped to talk about and it was great watching the premiere. My second ever! Wish I could've stayed to the very end but it's 3am for me in Australia so I gotta sleep. Love your content Casper!
Also, it reminds you of the Devil Went Down to Georgia bc it was a reference to it! Lucifer was using the golden fiddle then the other instruments appear in order
The way you saying "oh stiles, teen wolf reference nice" punched me in the face. I thought I was safe 😭 seriously tho love your videos casper! Keep it up ❤
I dint realize it was Jeremy Jordan until he started singing more than anything and I was like I know THAT VOICE! because I didn't hear it in hells greatest dad but his voice came out normally in more than anything
I was SOOO waiting for this one and you did not disappoint!!! YES, JEREMY JORDAN!!! Also, yes to the "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" and the instruments related to the Devil. "Stiles, huh, Teen Wolf reference" ohmygod!!!!! You just get better and better!!! 11:36-11:52 your face says it all, I love it!! Just, your face/expressions during the whole song, I'm crying! "what a beautiful song" SAME
More Than Anything is one of my favorite songs in this show and in general. I almost always cry when listening/watching it. It's such a beautiful and heartfelt song and such a big moment for these characters
My daddy issues 🤝 More than anything With you breaking down these songs makes me appreciate music makers(?) cause it's so complicated and like so much thought put into it. The story isn't just written lyrically but through the instruments and composition of the sounds like thanks to you and Jorge I get more perspective of what gies behind it and more appreciative of my fave songsss 💜💜💜
I've also heard the "tritonus" referred to as "tritone" otherwise known as the "devil's chord" you mentioned. As I understand it, that dissonance unsettled the church so much, some thought it was evil and could even summon the devil 😈 👿😈 (Personally think it sounds especially badass on electric violin🤘)
FINALLY A REACTOR WHO REALIZES THAT ALASTOR IS NOT REALLY WANTING TO BE CHARLIE'S DAD It's obvious he's only doing this to challenge Lucifer!! He cannot challenge him directly for Charlie, and he cannot fight with him because he would be turned into human pulp, he only has to hit Lucifer where it hurts the most. All the reactors with their "Owwww" when Alastor obviously doesn't give a damn about being anyone's father
More Than Anything is definitely my favourite song of the series! It's so sweet and so pretty, much more emotional and 'private' than most of the other songs, I find I suppose it hits harder for me though since I had a good relationship with my father that turned sour, so the song makes me cry almost every time I hear it lmao
Great as always, but btw, that thing about the tritone is a bit of a misconception, though a very common one so I'm not criticizing you or anything. It was never forbidden, nor really considered evil, but rather just believed to sound pretty bad so musicians preferred to not use it, as is still the case today lmao. Adam Neely got a nice video on it (watch?v=eR5yzCH5CsM).

Casper: “😮 jeremy jordan……….my god…. wow”
Lol same tho 😂
hearing that i was like can we get Casper reacting to Tangled the Series songs? bc Jeremy Jordan has some Certified Bangers in there
Jeremy has that effect on all of us 😂❤
@@NR-kp1fq so true ❤😂
Yes... yes.
@@katj1296 OMG I THOUGHT THE FANDOM WAS DEAD
7:20 that's 100% the reference. the devil in the song bets his golden fiddle if he loses. First time is saw it I laughed.
"Normally, Charlie sounds very Disney, but here, she reminds me of High School Musical (also Disney)" 😂
Underrated comment 😂
Casper: I know they’re gonna ruin this sweet moment
Sir Pentious: Awwwww! That was ssswwwweet! 🥹❤️
This is one of my favorite episodes, I’m a huge fan of “More Than Anything” it’s so good. My brain is constantly spinning about the instrumentals.
legit so amazing

I need a Tangled Series soundtrack reaction like I need air. Jeremy Jordan is in it and he sounds AMAZING
So few reactors get the "devil went down to georgia" reference, its astounding! It makes me grateful when someone actually catches it!
Okay so I didn't manage to stay for the entire live because family came over unannounced, but here I am!

Thank you so much 🥹
I'm in Australia as well at that's why I don't watch any premieres otherwise I totally would
Electroswing was the genre you were looking for!

More Than Anything is literally the best song in the show, makes me emotional every time I hear it.

still not sure why his background is a hawlucha card but its a vibe
my fav pokemon
this show is full of bangers, but damn more than anything is my favourite.
If you look closely, there is a frame where Alastor comes in with the piano on top of lucifer.

One of the best episodes of the show, have fun in the premiere everyone :DDD

Fun Fact: If you go back to the prologue of episode 1, you'll notice that more than anything is Lucifer's leitmotif
I am so glad you caught the devil went down to georgia reference
seeing the reaction to jeremy jordan def makes me wanna see ur reactions to the deathnote musical :)c

Mimsy is one of Alastor's friends from when he was still alive.

This episode is the best the show has to offer in my opinion. Can’t wait to see the rest of the show.
Hawlucha deserves his own channel at this point.
fun fact, I have a pokemon channel 😭
@@CFEntertains YOU DO? since when and why did UA-cam not tell me
The crazy thing is that he was right about Heaven not listening. But if anyone would be right it would be him.
I love watching people get destroyed by Episode 4 and then get emotional over Episode 5 :') you experience the full emotional spectrum
aahhh you don't disappoint! My favorite episode
