This sensitive interview sums it up: Barry was man of great wit, of compassion and impeccable timing right down to his closing remark here „ I‘m afraid we‘ve run out of time“ - Rest in Peace
I met Barry after his show last April! I was lucky to meet him then & incredibly lucky now. Rip Dame & and thank you for making my late Dad laugh in Bristol ⭐️❤⭐️🎉
I have an old copy of Honey Bear I got for my Mum as it was her favorite as well. Also, Barry has a zeal for life that is very inspiring. Listening to him talk is very uplifting! He is very young at heart!!!
Barry Humphries you have captured the hearts of all the people & I can't see anyone not loving the comedy & love for your craft that you have graced us with all these many years. GOD bless. RIP. You will forever live in our hearts. You are so missed. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Such a talented man !! I love his comedy and his characters that are so iconic and ageless !! Edna is stunningly beautiful!! I never tire if Barry . Luv Ya ❤️💙💜💚💛🧡💙💐
My Father was a genius. I know you are a genius. Thank you for all the happiness you have given to so many people. You have enriched my life. Thank you.
He is pure genious, this brilliant man. Unfortunatly not very well known in Norway, where I belong, but after I "found" him and his splendid characters in here, I've become a HUGE fan. Let's get as much material as possible available!! Please!!
This is one of the best interviews I've seen with Barry (and I think I have seen this a few times before), but it really encapsulates him perfectly: The ego, the wit, the rebelliousness, but also the curiosity, interest in, and care for, all people.
So funny Barry talking about Sunday afternoon drives with his parents as we in South Africa (in the 50’s and 60’s) did that as well! For the exact same reason! We all dreamt of a better life one day..
Take notice all actors what Barry said it's about cheering people up. And that's what he did for many years. Gone but always remembered in our heart's. Loved by all especially in Melbourne.
I have enjoyed Dame Edna for about 50 years. I remember watching with my mother when I was still in high school, I'm now in my early 70s. I spent a few months in Mexico in early 2019. I was so thrilled to see an advert for Dame Edna, but my sister insisted it must just be an impersonator, so we missed it. Probably the real thing! What a lost opportunity. I'll never forgive my sister.
It's a shame everyone focuses on the Edna character, and not so much Barry's other works. He was very passionate as a theatre actor, but it seems it would be Edna that saw him fame. I'm grateful for the gifts he gave us, great amd small, but we all know Edna was from another stratosphere. Scathing, polite, back-handed compliments, and saying all the things polite society wouldn't dare - it was marvelous
He really was brilliant, but I'm afraid we've run out of time. Such a classic final comment on the pretentious psychotherapist fools who pretend to understand the human mind, while being incapable and uninterested in doing so. Fortunately, here we had a congenial master of the mind and, unfortunately, it now has a new and similarly final meaning.
"People need cheering up!" This is the heart and mentality of a pure comic actor, and this is also what's missing from comedy today. Today comics care more about "seeming smart" than they do about being funny and making people laugh. In the end they come across as neither smart nor funny.
Barry Humphries is a gracious soul and one of Australia's great gifts to the world. Greetings from a Canadian fan.

Thanks Australia for letting us have your greatest export spend so much time in the UK.

@Trance_World_Artists 2014 Yes, I found him - but am still hoping to find much, much more!
Ja takk
The most talented entertainer of all time........
Such a genius. Was privileged to meet this great man when he came to Canberra. An inspiration.
This is someone with, not just talent, but real self-confidence - it oozes from him & I'm so envious!
But failed marriages
You can literally hear Dame Edna and Sir Les combined in his natural voice.
What a great interview with a uniquely talented person.
An amazing man.. so clever
The most talented and interesting man ever! Thank you for Edna! Xxx
Brilliant Man

An Australian icon

Rip barry a comic genius and lovely man. Are you with me? No worries
What an enormous privilege for Barry Humphreys to be interviewed by Richard Wilkins
Mr Humphries is a wonder of life in Australia. Every interviewer has ended up laughing their heads off (along with the floor crew).
I love his honesty and his genius and talent is so missed. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Really great interview going into areas of acting and character that most people didn't mention.

Barry Humphries - Total irreplaceable genius - a light has gone out in the world!!!

A great performer. RIP SIR.
Need cheering up. It’s why I watch him
Never knew he was married 4 times - he was a talent.
And children , I never knew that
Like Elvis there will only be one Barry and one Dame. A true legend RIP
He ended up getting cancelled by the woke mob. The BBC has so much to answer for.
At least he has his integrity and soul intact!
They have no sense of humor
It's a shame everyone focuses on the Edna character, and not so much Barry's other works.

Are you related to Sir Les? !
Nice interview. What year was this? ✌️👌🙂💜
Hats off RIP
Rest in Peace
How sweet 2 girls havin a chat !
Sheer brilliance from BH
He really was brilliant, but I'm afraid we've run out of time.

Who's Richard Wilkins?
Was BH a front and personna in himself? A complex man, former alcoholic
What relevance is being a former alcoholic ? It’s an illness !
richard wilkins, not good.
