As an American, I'm so grateful UA-cam exists because I would be cheated out of seeing such comic legends like Mr. Humphreys. People in Europe were blessed to have this man making them laugh for so many years. I was so sad when I heard of his passing. Bless his soul.❤
Apart from being a dear character in life to his family and those who knew him personally, Barry Humpheries was a comedic genius and he will leave an enormous wave of humour in his wake. Wishing nothing but a peaceful transition for this dear man who was loved by King and Commoner alike.
So glad they allowed us to comment on him. He is a distant memory, when I was growing up as a kid I found him hilarious and being SO young it makes you wonder how he could convey his comedy and make you laugh EVEN when you were a child. It's like a dagger in your heart when we lost him and all of the comedy greats dying is a piece of earths will to do, that dies. He will never be forgotten and his mantle will remain on fire for eternity. A gem of a comedian and a comedienne! lol! Rest in Peace Barry, you were loved so much. ♥
@@profaneangel0842 although Barry had a number of moderately successful stints in the US, he never truly cracked the American market. Most Americans didn’t really know what to make of him or understand his quintessentially dry, cynical and quick-witted Commonwealth humour. Unfortunately, breaking through the American market is the only way one can truly become a household name or global superstar; until then, you’re just another obscure, foreign entertainer
Terry for me he is the funniest I have ever encountered. I live his wit, cultural knowledge, variety, self depreciation, and scandalous originality. I wish I had known him. What a magnificent life of making people happy.
Barry Humphries was in a class of his own. He was a GENIUS! He can't be compared to any comedian because he was so much more than that. When I think of stand up comics, Billy Connolly was the funniest man on a stage. Ricky Gervais is brilliant too.
That joke about approaching 50...from the wrong end... I use it at every birthday of mine ....I'm 57 now and I always get a great laugh out of everyone!!!
that was like a boxers best left hook 2 seconds before the final bell , you didn`t see it coming and it left you reeling , the man was just perfect at timing!!
So good to watch this again, such a wonderful comedian, a very clever man his special humour will be solely missed RIP Barry you will be greatly missed ❤
Absolutely loved this man barry is hilarious just being Barry completely out of character he's going to be missed immensely the worlds going to be a darker place without him RIP brother !!!
The only person I can watch over and over and over….stuck in UA-cam.. as every second this man was filmed, is Golden. How he will be missed, a one off, an International Treasure. A wonderful human being ❤
Allways enjoyed and loved Edna and Barry and him and her and them and like these presenters have been in stitches laughing at these people. One of the best characters to ever be on British TV.
Ahh, Barry so sad that you've left this mortal coil. A funny, funny man who was able to make the world a happier place in many guises, but at his funniest as himself, without Edna or Les. Thanks so much for the laughter you gave us over the years. If you've gone on to a higher plain, I bet they'll be rolling up soon!
His characters can't really be held responsible for any politically incorrect statements that they may make. He's probably the funniest comedy genius ever. He will be missed. Rest in Peace Barry Humphies.♥️
Aussies are wonderful people, such caring people with a truly wonderful sense of humour. The affinity and bond between Australians and the United Kingdom is unbreakable!
One of a kind..Saw him onstage only once..And I'm Australian...The boundaries of of comedy were always broken with his comedy..But it was never offensive,as he did it lovingly, and in GOOD humor, with satiric brilliance..(In my opinion)
I always think of my late Uncle Arthur when I see Barry Humphries. He had the same kind of humour, used to write silly stories and perform them down at the pub, and dress the part too. Sadly he died back in 1982 but I always think of him when I see Barry performing as he alter ego Dame Edna and Sir Les Patterson. Sadly missed r.i.p Barry.
Why is Eamon Holmes on GB News? Whatever they are paying him it is too much. He should be back on This Morning and isn’t Ruth wonderful. They should both be on This Morning and their interviews with Barry Humphries should be broadcast every morning. Mr Humphries was just incomparable a true comic genius.
"I was born to give offence, but only mild offence." I would like to see his definition of "mild". Even in this interview you can see presenters scrambling for an exit, any exit, after some of his mild remarks.
Although we've lost Humphreys, at least we know for sure that while alive he took his fair share of gynecological exams with high approval results from his array of gynecologists the world over. Weirdly he never mentioned any proctology exams. Well, you can't win them all.
Carried him?!! Australians disowned him and hated him for a long portion of his career. It was in England and the US that he flourished and became as big as he did.
Australia, shut their doors and wouldn’t allow him back in. As indeed, they didn’t let anyone out to attend family funerals. Cross borders to go and get life saving treatment.
"Not very politically correct" says Ruth, regarding Sir Les, but Barry sidesteps her inane wokery with his usual personal charm, telling her he could "find something very appropriate for your slot"...........
"I was born to give offence, but only mild offence". RIP Barry you absolute legend. bless your brilliant heart
An absolute star of comedy. Rest in Peace Barry.

What a legend. Such a clever, loving and funny man. An adopted national treasure here in the UK!
The funniest comedian in history. No one compares with this mans genius and pure talent. RIP Bazza.
Apart from being a dear character in life to his family and those who knew him personally, Barry Humpheries was a comedic genius and he will leave an enormous wave of humour in his wake. Wishing nothing but a peaceful transition for this dear man who was loved by King and Commoner alike.
Rest in peace, an absolute genius in every way , very sadly missed, and a void that can never and will never be filled.
RIP Barry. You are getting your standing ovation now.👏👏👏

In the world of comedy, Barry Humphries is the GOAT. RIP and thank you.
I've been watching and laughing at Dame Edna since the 1990's! Staggeringly underrated comedian! ❤ from Canada! 🍁 🇨🇦
my family has been watching since the 1950's. love from Australia XX
"staggeringly underrated"??!? By whom?? I've never met/spoken to anyone who doesn't consider him one of the greatest comic performers ever

Genius. They don't make them like that any more. Rest well funny man 🇦🇺❤
He was so much fun! RIP, Barry, you wonderful man! ❤❤
Just came across this and it made me start wondering , has there ever been a funnier comedian than this genius and I cannot think of anyone
Think of Rodney Dangerfield. He was hilarious too.
True. And Joan Rivers
Possibly Groucho Marx
Terry for me he is the funniest I have ever encountered. I live his wit, cultural knowledge, variety, self depreciation, and scandalous originality. I wish I had known him. What a magnificent life of making people happy.

"I can find something very appropriate for your slot Ruth" 😂😂😂
He’s had the apperture on his pyjamas sewn up, absolutely brilliant 😂😂🙏🙏
another legend that is sorely missed .....brilliant comedic genius ...
RIP Barry Humphries (1934-2023)😢
His final line ‘I could find something very appropriate for your slot Ruth’ was absolutely hilarious 😂

@@waynewanderer He will be sorely missed. Sadly the world has lost some greats of late 💔
One of the best! RIP SIR Les.

They have interviewed him many times and know how amazing he was x
He’s just so funny and adorable. 😂

This man never fails to make me laugh. Les I want the news not the weather 😂.RIP Barry.
I just laughed out loud through the entire thing. RIP Barry😢
So did I. I always loved Dame Edna but I had never seen an interview with Barry as himself. He is just as funny and charming.
Allways enjoyed and loved Edna and Barry and him and her and them and like these presenters have been in stitches laughing at these people. One of the best characters to ever be on British TV.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 this will never be replaced. Hysterical. Thank you Barry, special man. RIP. 💔🙏💙💙🌸🦋
ABSOLUTELY Wonderful Barry Humphries. A Wonderful Intellectual Comic Genius. We All MISS You.

Just been enjoying listening to him on Desert Island Discs - fabulous.
One of the greatest gifts for humanity is a surgeon saving lives, and curing disease. The other great gift is making people laugh. RIP Bazza.
Absolutely...it is a gift he genuinely was a tonic !
His characters can't really be held responsible for any politically incorrect statements that they may make. He's probably the funniest comedy genius ever. He will be missed. Rest in Peace Barry Humphies.♥️
R.I.P. Barry - you made us laugh so much - we were so lucky to have you with us for so long - and didn't we love you.....and still do
Rest in Peace Mr. Humphries. REST IN PEACE.
Underrated and way way under appreciated. A pure comic genius.
I just found him he's absolutely. Amazing😮
God I so miss this guy. The greatest satirist of our generation
This guy makes me proud too be an AUSSIE🙏✌👍
Aussies are wonderful people, such caring people with a truly wonderful sense of humour. The affinity and bond between Australians and the United Kingdom is unbreakable!
Thanks Barry for all the laughs xx❤

That's 3 icons we've lost in as many weeks...rip all..
@@leeriches8841 We're losing all the good 'old school' comedians who worked hard to get to the top, they'll all be sadly missed...
he is a classic! who could match that ?? a brilliant entertainer, RIP Barry
RIP Barry Humphries 😢
He’s gonna be sadly missed comic genius ❤
Am disappointed that Dame Edna has not given her condolences to this comic genius
He never took himself too seriously...but Ooo did he make people laugh

Absolute genius.
ooooh I miss him/her/them😂 RIP

Probably for copyright reasons
RIP, lad. You had Ruth pissing in her Wolford's!
Absolutely hilarious
"I was born to give offence, but only mild offence." I would like to see his definition of "mild". Even in this interview you can see presenters scrambling for an exit, any exit, after some of his mild remarks.
Im a frustrated fan. I hope Barry's coroner's report does not say death by possum in the evacuation canal!
Brilliant
No Knighthood. Tragic.
Sir Les Patterson
Ji😊
I find this so strange as he was one of the Royals favourites. Or was it because he was a 'Dame' already? Said tongue in cheek.
He was too 'unconventional' I guess, and at least 30 years ahead of everyone else.
For me, on top of Mount Comedy, there's Charlie Chaplin and Barry Humphries.
Although we've lost Humphreys, at least we know for sure that while alive he took his fair share of gynecological exams with high approval results from his array of gynecologists the world over. Weirdly he never mentioned any proctology exams. Well, you can't win them all.

Im disapointed he does not dream of Australia. the country that has loved and carried him :(
You dont controle your dreams
