Really?…..saw him heaps of times here in Australia over three decades…...shows were all sold out….so no ..most of us aussies did appreciate him….@@anthdeas7104
I honestly cried a bit at hearing of his passing. On the other hand, I nearly pissed myself watching his clips on YT in remembrance. That's the magic he made, turning one emotion into another for just a few minutes or so and making us forget the bad stuff we were going through so we could smile for a bit. You'll be sorely missed and not soon forgotten, thanks for the laughs and RIP, lad.
Rip to Dane, Les or is it Barry. A true legend has left us. A sad day but has left us many decades of memories. Thank you for making people laugh all over the globe 🌏. Never forgotten mate 🙏🏻
I've lost count how many times I've watched this, very sad news to hear of the passing of such a funny man, RIP TO A LEGEND OF COMEDY 😀😥😀😥🤣😅🙏❤️🇬🇧❤️🙏 APR TWENTY THREE
With Paul O'Grady a couple of weeks ago and now Barry leaving us, it's almost like losing four entertainers. Bless the pair of you and thanks for the years of laughter.
This is what you call real comedy. Barry was an absolute genius. Way ahead of his times. we will never see the likes of him ever again. thank you, Mr. Humphries, for putting laughter into our family all these years. love and respect to you sir ❤👍
I loved Barry. I'm so glad that he came to Britain all those years ago to entertain us. We owe Melbourne Australia a big thankyou for producing Mr. Humphreys.
R. I. P. Another legendary comedian has left this crazy world. I'm made aware of him as I was living in Down Under, watched some of his stints and shows and since then, love him. Unfortunately in Austria, where I grew up, nobody knew him characterizing Dame Edna or Les, with his big cigar his big stick between his legs and his sometimes fluid 😁😁😁. I feel very much fortunate to have seen him many, many times in Australia on TV, through UA-cam or at her channels from the UK. The British and Australian humour is so much different and unique and he always made me laugh to the brinks of collapsing. He was one of a kind in his own sense of humour. He will be dearly missed by so many, which knew him personally, saw him on television or, in one of his many live shows around the English speaking world. My dearest condolences to his family. 😒😒😒😢😢😢
Barry, an Amazing Man, Always tinkering just Right on the Edge, but never crossing the line, A wonderful, Funny, and very Likeable Man, Sadly gone too! 💖
Humphries was Australia’s greatest cultural export. He played upon our quirks and made me laugh till tears. He’s one of those performers that loved the audience. The way he looks around and makes cheeky eye contact with audience and staff alike. We lost one of the very best ever.
Another one kicks the bucket.A sign we are all getting on.And suddenly I am reminded of the first R rated film I ever saw.The Adventures Of Barry McKenzie.I was under age. Thanks Barry.
Oh Barry. God rest his soul. I was non-athetic too even if my life depended on it. I gained, however, the respect of the American football coach of my high school who was also my algebra teacher, Mr. Thomas.. I will never, never forget his support. He was a lovely man who understood me at 14 years of age somehow. I miss Barry so much. As Cher said one time "It is easy to make people to cry but to get a genuine laugh, that's a more difficult talent." Warmest wishes from Northern California
Amazing character (characters). I didn’t know of Sir Les until I arrived at my girlfriend’s house back in 1978ish to find her mum, a very reserved, very quiet and genteel lady absolutely consumed with gales of laughter having just seen an interview with the Cultural Attaché. She tried to explain what she’d seen but just couldn’t stop laughing. I never saw her laugh so much before or since, lovely lady now passed.
Most of us Aussies are shattered over his passing. But at 89 he still had his humour to the last. Would have been far sadder to see Sir Barry go into some sort of mental decline as do many of his vintage. RIP and thank you.
Old Barry sitting chatting away. No Edna. No Les. Just himself and he was still far more interesting and entertaining than a hundred guests on chat shows today. He could read the phone book and still put most others to shame. Too busy being luvvy to each other. Scared they might offend. RIP Barry.
Barry Humphries was brilliant. He always made other guests and hosts laugh as hard as the audience. Watch his interviews with Parkinson in his Sir Les Patterson persona. You'll never think of him the same again.
Comedy genius and not afraid to wind up the royals. Heard a story he got banned from Cathay Pacific Airlines in late 80s. Apparently he emptied potato salad into a sick bag and after a turbulent take off, he pretended to chunder into it. He then asked the hostess for a spoon and ate the contents causing her and other passengers to gag😂 Don't know if its true but like to think it is. Can imagine him outside the pearly gates dressed as Dame Edna making caustic comments to St Peter about getting a better room than HM Queen Elizabeth
What a thing to leave behind on this world. That mischievous glint in his eyes - every utterance causing fits of laughter and you wonder how it is that it's funny, because it sounds refined and civil, yet it is actually subversive and rude. He will cause future generations to wet their pants laughing and gasping in shock.
Dear Barry Humpries. Such a genuine man very funny taught people to laugh at themselves 😂. His humour is sadly being extinguished in this awful woke and so called diverse world that we now have to live in . A world full of negativity and super sensitivity. God bless Big Les Edna and the great Barry.😅😊.
Master Barry Humphreys is the most Intelligent person on Earth... He is without a doubt. Cos the definition of intelligence is having the ability to Respond and to be Responsive.... Bravo, Barry Bravo U are really Tops...U are Brilliant. To say the least.. 😊😅😂
Rest in peace Barry. You always made me laugh and smile
The Australian Cheese Board will never be the same, having lost such a highly esteemed member...
He's one of the most brilliant comics I've come across over the years.
RIP Barry. You made so many of us forget our troubles and laugh out loud. You will be missed.
He's always been a national treasure in the UK. Much loved and respected. Very clever, loving and funny.
Unfortunately most of us aussies didn’t appreciate
I did loved him dearly
Really?…..saw him heaps of times here in Australia over three decades…...shows were all sold out….so no ..most of us aussies did appreciate him….@@anthdeas7104

A genius with rapier whit & good legs for drag !

You will be remembered as a legend.

Our two great countries share the same sense of humour, the kind that the USA just doesn’t ‘get.’
Ay mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Love Sir Les Patterson.
RIP Barry. He, Edna and Lez always brought so much laughter to our home 🏡 🇦🇺
Rip to Dane, Les or is it Barry. A true legend has left us. A sad day but has left us many decades of memories. Thank you for making people laugh all over the globe 🌏. Never forgotten mate 🙏🏻

Len Goodman and Harry Belafonte to add to those now, its like they are all jumping ship
Maybe they need a few entertainers above .Looking at this world from above they would need a few jokers😊
@@julianharvey6584 Jerry Springer too now, his show certainly had its moments of mass hilarity!
5, don't forget Sir Les Patterson 😊
Ruth is a lovely lady ! Barry was a brilliant person, so real and comfortable in whatever skin he chose to wear !
An incredible man.
Whether as himself, Dame Edna or his other characters he simply had the ability to hold a room.
An absolute gift.

Eamon using the hand signal to signal it’s time to wind up the interview and Barry: “Do you do that to people at dinner parties? “
😂😂😂
“Couldn’t even call my grandmother granny, … after that,weird 👀” 😂
Never realized how fused are the character and humor of Dame Edna with Barry’s real personality…both are razor sharp and hilarious.
