I could listen to him for hours. What a shame he’s gone. At least we can still watch his work.

I could watch a LOT more of this. So fascinating to get a probing examination of Edna's backside...

No show I’ve been to has had a better, more enjoyable audience reaction than Humphries’s Edna/Sandy/Les concoction - everybody leaves looking happy and completely satisfied with their ‘night out.’

He mentions the Olympic Games in 1956, we have that in common! Two buses of competitors came to my country city, it was the first time I had seen black people close up. What a performer he was.

Dame Edna Everage is an amazing character and it's very interesting to see Mr Humphries reveal her origins in addition to other aspects, but unfortunately it looks like the video was interrupted. He could go on telling us so many other things...

Like Kath and Kim, Barry's comedy with Edna works so well because there is a deep compassion and interest in the subject that is simultaneously being gently made fun of.

Mister humpries Edna is wass a great act.. I’m Dutch but I can follow the kind off humor .. in the Netherlands we have manny men that dressed by a woman, there is a whole pink community ..and we have a actor / presenter that do the same as you.. Paul haenen he is from Amsterdam and did a lot of the woman magreet dolman , you can see on UA-cam to.. but dame Edna has kind of of special ..
Is something magic when you play Edna , but it’s really great how you do it.. it is wass a good character the another also but Edna the best

This has passed anyone's mind here on UA-cam who has ever been to rescued animals uploads, but how in the hell does anyone find this video a thumbs down? All I can figure is someone who got picked out of a Dame Edna audience and never got over the fun made of them (good-natured as it always is), or an Aussie who thinks Sir Les is real, and an embarrassment to the country. That downvote is what I find spooky.

Genevieve, Unfortunately I don't have any more information than the title of the video. This video and the three interviews with Richard Wilkins were all on the Dame Edna: Back To My Roots DVD.

I saw his show at the Regal Theatre in Perth.
Opened with Sir Les, then Sandy Stone, and finished with Dame Edna.
A comic genius. One of the most memorable shows I have been to.
He was though, an awful snob. Spent little time in Australia at the height of his fame,

Does this silly little man imply that Dame Edna is a fictitious character, that he invented her years ago and has been impersonating her ever since? The cheek! One wonders what she's going to say about it. The last I heard she was not effusively complimentary about the man.

They refuse to see each other. I don't think she even attended his funeral!
