- Happy Holidays everyone. I hope you are all well and really for the good time ahead. Sadly I didn’t have enough time to get the Avenger 85 installed onto the Banshee Queen. It’s going to be a tight fit but I think we can make it work. We are going to look at the Avenger 85 a little more and take a look at the Wild Cat 80 to see how she is holding up. We have about 350ish miles on her friends!! Not too bad!!
Steel expands 3/10th slower then aluminum with same heat temp applied Avenger 85 is a minarelli port design. Took one for ride 2 days ago. Instantly purchased one off eBay lol😅
Nailed it bro. 🎉🎉🎉 you are the only person that has compared the Avenger to a minarelli. Interesting 🤔 👀!! Hahaha yay I'm happy you got one!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
@@grendelsgarage9723 port design is the same! Slightly different but for sure designed with those intentions. Whole saw build for them phantom,85 was a huge failure. Can't screw a minarelli up 😆
@@BuildBreakFix I'm straight dieing bro!! 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks again! 👍 oh hey 👋 what do you run your piston gap for your 2 strokes? People are kinda all over the place on that number.
hey do you know if a minarelli flange will work to fit an exhaust on the avenger 85?
Great video bro should be a really fun motor
Brother! Hope you're well and had a Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄. I think this motor is going to boogie 🙈🙉🙊.
I've had my 👀 on the 85 Avenger can't wait to see u run it
I will start editing tomorrow night and should have it up Friday night 🌙 🙃 🤪. 😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣🧐🧐
Grendel with the bucking bar Lucas tacky red grease works great about every 200 miles grease it 0.45 good squash I seen someone running one of them avenger 85 your going to be well pleased on your muffler breaking free use the support clamp my phantom experament kept blowing exhaust gaskets same issue made a support for that big Silencer problem fixed ride safe brother and you and your family have a great blessed Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and cheap made parts I greased the bucking bar on my phantom experament and it's doing same thing on it and that's one of it's main problems cheap parts
Mike, I hope your Christmas was good 👍 We had a blast on this end, brother. I ended up putting another base gaskets on, and we are sitting at 0.83mm now 🙃. Just to be safe, hahaha 😆. I won't say much, but wow! I'm working on editing starting tomorrow.
@@grendelsgarage9723 I'm glad you had a great Christmas I know your going to like that avenger 85 I seen a video of someone taking one on a test ride sounded impressive
I never considered the different thermal expansion rates. Good tip, thanks. I've got a new motor that hasn't gotten very hot yet since its winter and still in the break in process and you probably saved me a heartbreaking moment.
Hey, I hope that helps you out. I've personally not had a case crack, but you never know. I think that was a tip from Hughes motorized bicycle.
You can buy gold engine paint and paint a higher dollar CNC head
I've thought about it 🤔. I do tend to overthink how the paint will retain heat. BUT with a bigger head, I wouldn't think paint would matter much. It's why I don't like to buy pre painted engines.
Looking good boss.
Thanks Leo! 👍 let the chicken 🐔 fly!!!! 😉
@@grendelsgarage9723 I'm trying bro, I'm trying hard. Almost there
loving the build bro haha 😊
Thanks, brother! This motor will be a beast! ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The rivets are known to become loose in the pipe merry Christmas and at 0.45 you will blow some stuff up once it’s singing at high rpm
Aaaawwww okay, so it is the rivets that are at fault. Thanks for the clarification 👍 👌 😀. We are sitting at a 0.83. But the base gaskets will start to compress, so I will have to keep an eye 👁 👀 on that... I think that a long-term fix might be needed.
Yeah that head clearence seams abit sketchy, I'll be watching to see how this turns out! The queen is still myQueen, long live the Queen, HOOZA!!!!
Long live the Queen 👸 hahahaha! So far, so good brother. I'm not thrilled to me running three base gaskets. I'm going to have to keep an eye on that squish gap!
It is the rivets on the sides that is the problem not the bolts Ken is replacing with steal rivets on new kits for those of us who bought it early i guess we're just S.O.L.😂
You are right about the rivets. It's NOT the bolts. I'm thinking maybe a spot of JBW over the exposed rivets until we see some pipes? Or pray 🙏 they old up 🥲🥲🥲🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣. I guess we will see how customers service is sooner than later, hahaha 😆
im building a dirt jumper motocross inspired phantom 85v3, gotta fabricate a fatty pipe and silencer combo with mounts strong enough to withstand the abuse of hucking jumps lol
BRAAAAAAAP
That will be sick!!!! Many I would love to learn how to weld and fabricate!!!! Let me know how it does!!!
I'm very interested in this motor I can't wait to see you ride it have you decided what kind of pipe you gonna run I see people getting really good performance out of them good luck with it I'll be watching can you ride that beast safe Merry Christmas to you and your family and a happy new year
Kevin, I hope your Christmas was a blast! We had a great time on this end. I'm very excited to get to the editing tomorrow evening. 🤗 ride safe 🙏
Paul here, concerning that avenger 85-if you only run one base gasket you will most likely end up with a slight opening of your exhaust port on top dead center, I believe this to be the main reason for having to use two of them at the sacrifice of running the ring end gap outside the bore on your intake side for which we all know this not to be ideal, I don't know how consistent these all are so check yours out, you may have to play around with both head gasket and base gasket thickness to see if both issues could be prevented, I noticed this on mine prior to assembly, so check all your measurements
Thank you very much. Yes, there seems to be a little bit of that going around. I ended up running 3 base gaskets to get a 0.83mm piston gap. First time running 3 😅😅.... they will compress over time, so I think a long-term solution will be needed. Thank you for sharing this info. It's important for people to know what everyone is seeing 👀 🧐🧐 in their kits. Ride safe, my friend!!
That wildcat looks real good how many tanks did u get out them 300s miles
I'm very happy with how it's looking after that long of a run. I'm guessing, but I want to say 5 to 6... I try to keep my tanks about halfway full too try ans keep the gas good, so that's why I'm guessing 😅 🤔
I'm waiting until after the Chinese New Year. Going to order 10 of the phantom 85 gt5 engine kits. I'd been waiting for them until msg'd me that the cylinders were out of stock
Ooooooo!!!!! Heck yeah my man! Did you end up getting them! Keep me posted 📫
Bell Ray grease... The regular on wheels and bearings
Bell Ray grease for Polaris CV joint in the bucking bar
Blue tac on the chain
Maxima castor 927 24:1
Lucas isn't bad but Bell ray blows it away by 2 or 300%
Bell Ray grease, I'm going to have to look into that for sure! Thanks for this information 👍. Great stuff! I've been just kinda grabbing stuff that looked okay. How do you feeling about Opti 2 stroke oil? I think that is the brand... thanks again! 👍
@@grendelsgarage9723 maxima castor 927
Because castor runs to the heat and it's what I like from decades
If I was running a new style 2T like a 2000 and up outboard or jet ski that's made for full synthetic because it's recommended #1 and made for it
But not in a 1940's design China doll...
Bell Ray grease for bearings hubs but the 40% molly CV grease only in the bucking bar... 5% or less moly for bearings or it's too much of a good thing... Red line molly assembly lube is 80% molly and used on 4stroke valve train and would mess up the bearings in a 2T
One thing that many people don't know or understand about 2T oil is the richer the mix the leaner the actual fuel to air ratios are... For example I run say a 70 jet @24:1 if I go to 32;1 I'd run a 68 to get the same fuel/ air ratio more or less
Full synthetic oil 50-100:1 in modern engines is because there direct injection to the bearings
These MB engines are a passive residual oiling system so the added oil is wasteful and why there off road and non compliance etc...
🎉🎉🎉🎉 thanks you very much for all this information. I will have to read over it a few time 😅❤❤ thank you!!
Which motor do you like better. Ive had the wildcats an they all were great
The Avenger 85 is just to new to know how it will hold up long term. So far so go!! 🤞🤞🤞🤞. The Wild Cat 80 is just a flat great motor. Nothing but good things to say. The company is difficult to work with, but I will buy from them again. First time buyer, I would suggest the Wild Cat 🐈.
What heads fit the Avenger? Do you know if a head made for an LD100 will fit?
GoMax has the heads...
LD Head will fit
@JasonBurque-nk4xh so the answer your question, no a yd or ld 100 will not fit. It has a 52mm piston. Like Jason stated, GoMax and the guys at Smolikperformance have heads.
@@grendelsgarage9723 i know that they ok to use heads for smaller bores on some engines, say a head made for a 47mm piston to use with the 49mm
Just thought I'd ask
@KB_Joys you know.... now I don't know, haha 😆 😅. So it does take yd ld 100 base gaskets so........ a yd ld 100 head would fit on it. So to answer your question, I do not know old sport. 😅😅😅
@@grendelsgarage9723 it was more of a curiosity thing really.
But they do cut the tops off the saw jugs and add a head for cooling.
There will be more options later, probably best for me to just wait.
I have like 3 or 4 ms460 cylinders, should probably use them anyways.
I have never heard of anybody tighten up a boat in a motor and loosen it up for expansion. Torque specs means torque specs you tighten it to torque specs and don't loosen it. Maybe you need to go to automotive school or something. I'm just saying bro you give me wrong information
Hey there Jerry 👋 hope your day is good. I've stated it from the beginning; I am just a novice looking to learn and have a great time. You bring up a very good point. I will research this and, of course, learn because that's what's life about man. I do find it sad that you have to dog on people, though. That's kind of a bummer, bro. But of course, if you're willing to fort the money for me to go to automobile school, I would love it. Maybe we could go together and learn. By the way, it's a bolt, not boat, just a heads up, if you want to edit that later 😀 😉 I got you boo!!! Ride safe 🙏 👌 ❤️
