I got the G7 the other day, willingly voided the warranty, changed the thermal paste almost out of the box, and now the temps never go over 80 degrees (usually around 70), and both fans are usually around 50-60 percent. Sure, it's a bit noisy, but works flawlessly,.
I fixed my overheating issues with a new thermal paste. I used arctic mx-4 and now the cpu runs about 70 degrees and the fan rpm went from the max which is 5300 rpm to 4000 rpm. Huge difference. The original paste was bad, it was quite dry.

I've had problems with high thermals in a previous gaming laptop. I upgraded the RAM as is was covered under warranty, as you mentioned. After waiting for the 2 year warranty to end i replaced both GPU & CPU Thermal paste and the temps both dropped dramatically. My question is; Does replacing the thermal paste void the warranty? I understand upgrading the Storage and RAM is under Warranty, but what about the seemingly problematic thermal paste? I Guess So??
it depends on where you live, some places consider changing thermal paste and cleaning/upgrading just general maintenance and does not void warranty, some places might not see it that way and consider just opening it up voiding warranty.
Am I the only one disabling the CPU turbo mode from bios and forgetting it ever existed? After having it a couple weeks, I have had no problems with it. I upgraded the M2 to 2 terrabyte, which was very easy to do. I do some 1440p gaming for which I use a 32" monitor. When I game I have the laptop on a $12.00 laptop cooler since the laptop can run hot. I think that it is currently the best deal in laptops, but there are a few others that come close.
Who's thinner, the 2022 or 2023 model?
can u make a video about rtx 3060 ti vs 4060. and 3070 and 3080 to see which have best fps.
Just do the research and compare the data
4060 wins against 3060, against 3070 RAW the 3070 wins, but with dlss the 4060 is more comparable to the 3080 in frame terms
Guys do you think its worth the additional $240 to get this 4060 laptop over an older 3060 Acer Nitro 5 with i5-11400H?
no this laptop is like shit, it will make you a new oppotunity to build an another lap after few months with hardcore game the heat is just too high it will be better to choose nitro 5 bc it has has a better cooler system
@@taihoangthe8308it's inconvenient I know but change of thermal paste with a very good one like noctua or MX will resolve many heating issues
And this laptop I got at 665 dollars
It was an absolute bargain for me
And for many others too
I just ordered a g5 kf with i7 12650h, 16 ram, rtx 4060, and i have this doubt..., i saw some reviews telling that you cant plug an external monitor via HDMI and have above 60 fps in games,
This laptop uses the integrated graphics when you plug an external monitor?, if so how can i use the dedicated one to have the best perfomance while having an external monitor plugged to it?
i’m buying this laptop next week, i wanna know does it worth for gaming? like fortnite in good settings? what abt the temps?
Definitely, unless your playing multiple high powered games. Even then just upgrade it
It’s crazy to think that this is $750 after only 7 months
if i have 900 euros what do you recomend to buy in black friday?
what did u buy?
An msi cyborg 15 with intel i7 12650h 1tb ssd 16gb ram ddr5 and an rtx 4060
I hope my comment will help you, i bought it in amazon, 950 euros
@@AlexelproLunita is it good? doesn’t have bad temps?
loved the video
really like to have gaming pc or laptop.
i wonder which is the best Gigabyte G5 KF or the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 Ryzen 7 RTX 4060 same price not sure which one the buy.... cheers good review
The asus, gigabyte is trash
@@m0r4agim deciding which one to buy too, why do you think its bad
@@himawari3688 i’ve try some Gigabyte laptops, specially some KF models and they are HORRIBLE, they feel like the plastic of a Chinese toy and they hit 100°C easily, the Aero models are good tho
And i personally have tried the TUF and it’s good, maybe the “gamerish” aesthetics are not your thing but they feel good in general, Nowadays my laptop is a Strix G16 2023
@@m0r4agcan you please me a Gaming laptop I'm buying now
Temps are very bad
Gpu has the lowest tgp with only 75 watts,
For more 200$ you may get the MSI katana 15 with 4070 105 watts or the Asus Tuf with 4070 140 watts which has much better thermals and performance 👍🏻
No, the lowest tgp for 4050 4060 is 45 Watt
Not a real review tbh, just a fast unbox , tryout. He took down the fanspeeds by custom setup and let the laptop thermal throttle all the way so he doesn't have to listen to he noise :D
And all this not even at hot summer room temps.
But yeah shows that even low TDP hardware in a small plastic case can cook anything.
Does anyone else still play cyberpunk or is it just a benchmark game now?
I think that the Rj45 port is poorly placed and it should have been placed either in the back or on the right.
Specs is ok for me but i cant say for temps😢 icant decide this or hp victus with rtx 4050 and i7 13th.
What did u decide and how it went
Gonna do best buy trade in with my m1 MacBook Air and use the Black Friday deals to essentially buy this for like $200
Love your videos!
Gonna get it on december
u got it? which version?
@@Ali-yt7ck got the gigabyte g5 KF 4060 i5 12500H but i realize i dont use it as much i also have a 2060 super rig
How many external monitors could you drive with this?
Its a great laptot i must say, just have in mind you HAVE TO buy a cooling pad or chill mat , and lets be realistic most of us use headphones so the noise wont be a problem, also dont even think to bring the laptop on your bed or something similar because it will ¡boil!, enjoy!
Guys i need an advice i'm willing to buy this laptop this summer should i go for it or look for a better option ?
I just got this PC, what is that control center that he is using for the speed of fans and all, I'm using right now Control center 3.0.
1000 pounds is budget for those people ..compleatly detached from reality
4060? Technically, can run Runescape 3 on this laptop. However, can't imagine it reaching more than 10 fps, but putting a few slices of bread with cheese and closing it down while running Runescape 3 would make it a great toaster. Guess RTX stands for Real Toasty Xperience in this case.
Especially if you're facing zammy boss max settings 😅 those fps drops
HAHA HA HAHA HA HA HA 😐
I mainly would like to use this for ci6 age of wonders and trials if cold steel type of games? Mostly rpgs and stuff. Do you think it would hold well on games like those
Is it durable?
Legends are seeing specs and the performance for gaming 😅
hi there we’re is the display connected too? i mean what port is the Gpu connected too?
Bro when you have 11700 subs i was the other one i subscribed you its was a long time i subbed your channel and it's worth it 😅 i like your channel 😀
Are loading times really any different between gen 3, 4 and 5?
Any comment on the 165W power consumption from the wall from the 150w power charger?
I've seen one reviewer point out the 165w consumption on full power
Why is it that the older generations of this model had the beeping issue which people said they had with the cooling. Hope this one doesn't have it T_T
4060 katana gets 65 fps on cyberpunk with everything up dlss set to quality and pathtracing and raytracing on. about the same price
how is $1479 affordable/budget?!?!
Take over continents , enslave their native inhabitants, steal their resources > profit > 1.5k 4 core hotplate plastic entry level laptop is cheap for UK people :D
Bro bathes in honey, so for him it is😊
Now it’s $800 for Black Friday deals
Its 999 now
It’s 749$ fo rms at least
Is it a buy?
$1200 for last gen hardware with only a new gen gpu, oh joy.
I feel kinda robbed, that I could’ve gotten a 4060 laptop, for the same price as my 4050 😢
Can be charged on the usb-c port ?
I have been trying to find the perfect wntry level gaming laptop or pc and i think i found it :)
Will repasting with a better quality thermal paste improve thermals?
In this case, probably playing in the north pole is the only possibility
So I found this exact laptop for $879 usd but it only has 8gb of ram is that still a reasonable price per performance it’s been like 6-7 years since I’ve messed around in pc gaming and back then 8gb of ddr3 u could game on now I see people say you need more which yeah is only like $60-$80 my other option for a gaming laptop was one with a RTX 3060 6gb gpu ram and then 16gb system ram for 749 in ur opinion which one would be better I want to be able to play scum, squad, Icarus and similar games to those but to me if I have to play it medium settings doesn’t bother me heck even some settings set to low wouldn’t bug me
i have G5 10500h, 3060, 240hz 72ntsc. This new model looks good for money, BUT it has only 144hz 45 ntsc, 4060 is small improvement, because it is basically 4050 chip. And this laptop is very hot and throtling. I was lucky and have got modded bios with cpu voltage unlock, this saved me. Because over 80C keyboard is very warm, and over 90C it is hot, unusable. 95 starts hard cpu throtling
Is it good for editing? Like devinci resolved
Is the g6 with 13th gen Intel better then the g5?
does windows come with it?
The 4000 series laptops all have stutter issues skip this gen or buy last gen
Should i get a 3070ti or a 4060 laptop. Thanks. Mostly doing 1440p gaming.
Probably the 4060 because dlss
wonder if things often fall out of his hands
where can I download this app, which is on the screen at 4:11?
Can it run minecraft?
"You can have you're cake, and eat it." - PC Centric
But can it run Jedi Survivor at 480p?
I got 4050 and I love it
the video you used a TI or non TI?|
The links and description is non TI laptop!
What could possibly be beautiful in RTX 4060 mobile, a graphics card that is delivering performance under 3060 desktop ? Like well below
DLSS 3 frame generation.
Actually performs better than a 3060 desktop, but worst than a 3060ti plus the dlss 3, lol
@@m0r4ag Wait really? lol
@@hypno18s tbh im not 100% sure, that’s what i’ve heard
A person buying gaming laptop knows that already, you should never compare a mobile GPU and desktop. there's a huge difference. Only reason of buying gaming laptop is portability.
I have 2k to spend what's the best laptop u can get
Don’t know
What's the name of the software for the custom fan curve?
Is this the laptop with the i5 12500H
Ethernet on the right side??
as on many laptops , soon it will be like headphone jack on phones disappear with Wifi6 / 5G spreading
@@bandita2068 what I'm trying to say is, putting it on the right side, is a horrible design because it will get it the way when you're using a mouse
@@mikediezel0923 Thats obvious just as most people use Wifi not ethernet with their laptop so they do not care :D
Do anyone know if Optimus can be disabled or enable on this laptop? I am looking to connect this to an external monitor. Thanks pls
Nice laptop!
CPU reaching 100C during gaming.
Pass.
Desktop cpus have a hard time with normal air low profile air coolers in small form factor itx cases…i aint surprised a laptop one is even worse.
it does have the mux switch??
Can I play star field on this laptop
You're the best, man. 👍
i hope ur editor got a paycut after this
This is luxury
omg the intro
can you run fornite over 144fps on battle royal stable?
Theres a G5 with a 12th gen i7 tho
Aight I'll buy this then
And yes why don't you show your fans the new operating system which are hughly focused on gamers and low end systems which are windows 10 and 11 alternative Atlas os give it a try i know this is will love it
I don't think the machines that he showcases, really require such an os. Windows Scheduler these days does a much better job these days, of low usage.
Dream Machines best laptop!))
