@linus I'm about an hour and a half in, and you're talking about 6 conductors on 1 harness connector and the other kind having 3hot and 5gnd... So I'm not familiar with the specific product, but I think I can help with the reason (without math). 1st: electricity actually flows from gnd to pos.. it works either way u draw it out, but bare that in mind (we call earth "ground", but in reality, the atmosphere is negative and earth is positive). 2nd: the loads of a circuit take the push of the line (power feed) down. 3rd: the push (pressure... Voltage) measured after the load, subtracted from before the load, is called "forward voltage"... My point is; Because electrons flow from gnd to pos in vDC, there is higher voltage, higher amperage, and higher resistance.. hence the reason for more gnd wiring. I'd also imagine that AT LEAST 1 (maybe 2) of those gnds are shield gnd. Last nerdy thing... If the wire's sheathing (not the connector... I feel bad for people that have food theory and just can't get good product) is able to control the heat from the amp draw in each wire, then it's very likely that this "smaller wiring" may actually have finer strands within the conductor. Electrons travel on the outer edge of their conductors. The inner (core)of the conductor acts as more of a heat sink. If u use more strands in finer wire, the electrons have more surface to flow, heat escapes WAY TOO FAST, but can be controlled by say XLPE sheathing... A wire can melt and stay contained in the sheath, turning it into a larger solid core, instead of acting like a fuse. I think the issue of the company ur talking about, is SOLEY a pour choice in terminal pin style and size.. not the wiring
Antoine was the clear MVP of this stream. Smashed that sauce like a boss and jacked the boss for a combined total of about $7K. (*two* expensive monitors, he grabbed $2K of primo monitor, and the reroll landed the $5K one lol, all for low low price of a tounge blister)

Must be so much fun to be on the cutting edge of tech with these guys. They get to try it all, everything you can think of they get to tinker with. Super jealous tbh.
Sounds like the echo is phase cancellation when the two microphones are both live. Using an audio console with an auto mixer would help remove this problem
I'd love to see this done again, but with a few changes. Same component selection and die rolling concepts, but with a reckless lack of care to compatibility janky or not, I want to see forced compatibility ... zip ties and all I'm sure you guys can put together a ddr4 to ddr3 adapter if you auctioned off the final system starting at a high enough price to cover expenses
Industry Standards and new equipment adoption point is so spot on… just really well explained and a great take on business/industry in general. Especially when talking about how, if there’s no clear front facing benefit to the consumer, so good! 👏👏👏
Pumped that these fools do stuff like this. Linus keeping that momentum throughout the entire 3.5 hour stream is criminally underrated. If you haven’t tried yet-try speaking into a red recording light and talking about something that you’re knowledgeable on, while also entertaining the audience to an extent that you feel confident releasing to millions of people. Then consider doing the entire thing live, in front of millions of people, knowing that there will be curveballs in your speech while simultaneously building with your hands. The most widely viewed television events would never allow for something like this.. and Linus and his team handle the broadcast better than pretty much most. Hats off to the production department You guys keep leveling up.
I hope he does more of these... I really enjoy this... another idea is to have a sign up.. BEFORE the random build so you have someone you are building it for... so you can say their name... and kind of have a more personal touch.. :) You should call this "Your $1 computer" and do this every month or 3.. you wouldn't have to go this crazy, or get some sponsors or something.. because I have looked up at least 5 items you have shown or talked about here.
This! I would love a version were we get to root for (or troll) the person who bought it! But there might be an issue to get sponsors if they risk becoming the "bad" alternative? Unless they roll with it and for example Intel sponsors them with a 10 y/o shit cpu and a high end monster for example. That could be fun to watch.
Honestly letting that worker eat hotsauce to get a monitor way too high spec for his job is awesome. Hot sause wont kill you with just a spoon full. And he get a monitor he doesnt need but is cool as hell. And Linus can still come get it for a test if need be.
Well, that's one way to look at it. I think it was a bit humiliating. Linus kinda made him look like a circus clown by doing hot sauce challeges on live stream for a damn monitor. An employee shouldn't earn stuff this way. It's degrading in my opinion. It would have been entertaining if Linus did it like he was supposed to, but he made an employee do it. It was hard to watch. That's my two cents on that.

Yeah, I looked at the stream replay for a bit and it kinda pisses me off how annoying people are screaming rigged and shit, either they think they're funny and they're not, or they are furious that no matter how this went down, someone was paying a dollar for an insane prize, he had a decent enough reason in wanting to make sure they didn't need it for some video later, it's not like he was just being "cheap", and he sounded like he'd rather give it away than subject anyone to the hotsauce in (questionably dangerous?) amounts.
I like the sales pitch for the LTT acoustic treatement. "Some panels are DIY, some are great performance but really expensive, ours are a little DIY but no tools required, but great performance - but you buy the acoustic treatement that goes inside the panel yourself you can use whatever!". @@KrufleXS First problem, the display that you listed is a 1080P display (1920x1080) which means it can't run at 4K. you can't upscale the native resolution of your monitor, you can buy a 4K display and choose for 1080P but it doesn't work the other way around. Second problem the CPU is a budget CPU which means it won't work very well for gaming at 4K, because it doesn't have good enough performance If you are set on using AMD you should get a Ryzen 9 7900x which confusingly is faster than the Ryzen 9 7950x. Third problem the GPU, A 3060 isn't going to provide enough power to be gaming at 4K I suggest instead getting a 4070 or 4070ti. The 4070/4070TI will provide good performance and it is an expensive card but, to game at 4K you need the best of the best and it is the choice that makes the most sense as of now. And for the fourth issue 16GB ram is enough for now but, in a couple of years games might require more RAM than that so I would go with 32GB RAM. You also state that you do want to be streaming so you will have to do video editing if you plan to upload it to YT making 32GB a way better choice for your scenario. For the PSU aka powersupply if you can make sure it's Platinum rated Gold is good but Platinum rated is a lot better. For the SSD instead I would go for the Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD as it is a lot better, the reason to go for 2TB is because it gives more storage and, it's cheaper to buy one 2TB SSD than it is to buy 2 1TB SSD's. The Motherboard you chose is good the case as well and I see no issue with the CPU cooler either. For 4K you would be looking at something like the LG 32UQ750-W.
@@leagueaddict8357 I cannot thank you enough for actually taking your time and helping me. thank you so much. so I can see that 4k is the main problem here. so if I say I'll do all of the mentioned things but in 1080p and never go higher than 2k. how would that be? and yes I'll upgrade 16gb to 32gb in soon future when it's needed.
@@KrufleXS A lot cheaper but, I would recommend going for QHD which is 2560x1440 for a really good gaming experience 144hz or higher is also recommended. If you go for 2560x1440 you can put in a 30's series GPU and it'll be a good experience (Like a 3060 ) as long as the CPU isn't bottlenecking it. I would avoid the 3060 3050 and 3060ti though a 3080/3080ti 3090 or 3090ti would be solid, the 3070ti would also be a good GPU to go for. I would say the Ryzen 7700 is a lot better than the 5600x but, if you can get a good deal on a Ryzen 9: 5900 / 5900x / 7900 or a 7900x that would be even better.
I actually loved this as a video it was awesome to watch the high stakes. I'd definitely rock the build as is just to say "yeah this is an LTT build" 😂💯
I appreciate your integrity and not selling out to a board run sponsor for a bigger budget. Steady growth, run by the people who worked their way up, is what made companies productive.
Regarding that Hearing Aid comment, in the US the FDA actually just opened up Hearing Aids to the OTC market last week, so now if you have mild to moderate hearing loss you can buy a hearing aid from places like Best Buy for a couple hundred bucks.

The Vega 64 liquid edition is 8GB HBM2 not 12GB. Also, it's the Vega 10XTX chip, not the Vega10 XT used in the Vega 64 air version. It's quite a bit faster and binned. Nowadays it's on par with the 1080ti. These are actually somewhat rare.

So I'm not familiar with the specific product, but I think I can help with the reason (without math). 1st: electricity actually flows from gnd to pos.. it works either way u draw it out, but bare that in mind (we call earth "ground", but in reality, the atmosphere is negative and earth is positive). 2nd: the loads of a circuit take the push of the line (power feed) down. 3rd: the push (pressure... Voltage) measured after the load, subtracted from before the load, is called "forward voltage"... My point is;
Because electrons flow from gnd to pos in vDC, there is higher voltage, higher amperage, and higher resistance.. hence the reason for more gnd wiring.
The display re-roll thingy. Quite funny he said "We need it in the labs." which in reality was "I want it for my workstation."
They should have given chat the option to force a reroll for each time Linus drops something.
I agree

Colton wrote the script for this video. He got fired because of the huge loss he caused by selling this system.
Edit: Colton didn't get fired because of the hight requirement. HR can only fire people above a certain height. The limit is Linus height. Coincidentally.
What r u talking about? Is this trolling? Or did someone actually got fired for this???????

Instead of a thinner screwdriver you could just have a longer shaft (that's what she said.) that way you can still fit it into tight spaces and still have the Bulk for the bit storage.
This video was legitimately a lot of fun. I think the mystery added to it, as did the wide variety of parts discussed. Thank you for putting this together.
This PC sure is gonna be worth the cost!

What an intersting stream, loved spending the last three and a half hours watching this
Thanks, for the shoutout El Papi Grande Linus. I agree, Temple OS was a terrible idea. A terribly funny one. @37:20
Nice
Crazy how they make it so professional, and yet there live. More live streams should be like this.
Must be so much fun to be on the cutting edge of tech with these guys. They get to try it all, everything you can think of they get to tinker with. Super jealous tbh.
what a rollercoaster of nostalgia, as well as modern tech I couldn't afford. Thumbs up!
Sounds like the echo is phase cancellation when the two microphones are both live. Using an audio console with an auto mixer would help remove this problem
Linus is so really and awesomely transparent about what he does and how his business operates, even some of the arbitrary finance charges.
I'd love to see this done again, but with a few changes.
Same component selection and die rolling concepts, but with a reckless lack of care to compatibility
janky or not, I want to see forced compatibility ... zip ties and all
I'm sure you guys can put together a ddr4 to ddr3 adapter if you auctioned off the final system starting at a high enough price to cover expenses
It would be cool but they wouldn't be able to Gove it away.
Industry Standards and new equipment adoption point is so spot on… just really well explained and a great take on business/industry in general. Especially when talking about how, if there’s no clear front facing benefit to the consumer, so good! 👏👏👏
Linus needs to do a D&D stream where he learns to play.
@@rhw8567 the guy volunteered for it.... linus didn't insist and repeatedly said not to do it that he'd do it, but hey....if you want to be offended on the guy's behalf then have it.
@@rapids444 Yeah, you're maybe right. I watched it again. When it was live, It somehow came down to me as he had no other choice. It was still kind of awkward, but yeah, after all he volunteered for it.
The dumb thing here is that they could have just bought a replacement monitor... And now they have lost a very rare out of production unit instead 😅
I like the sales pitch for the LTT acoustic treatement. "Some panels are DIY, some are great performance but really expensive, ours are a little DIY but no tools required, but great performance - but you buy the acoustic treatement that goes inside the panel yourself you can use whatever!". So what is great performance? haha
Linus' face when he heard the $16k was actually... *drum roll*
priceless.
One of the most fun streams I've seen from you guys, would watch an even much longer version of this with much more small options for rolls and rerolls. Great idea overall, I'd love it if you expanded on it 😁
Tons of potential for different interactive giveaways! Pretty cool to give back to the viewers like this
I doubt it's going to remove heat, if anything it will make it hotter since concrete does hold heat for a long time but, it will also heat any space near it so if anything you will end up struggeling to get it cooler even more.

@@KrufleXS First problem, the display that you listed is a 1080P display (1920x1080) which means it can't run at 4K.
you can't upscale the native resolution of your monitor, you can buy a 4K display and choose for 1080P
but it doesn't work the other way around.
For the SSD instead I would go for the Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD as it is a lot better,
the reason to go for 2TB is because it gives more storage and, it's cheaper to buy one 2TB SSD than it is to buy 2 1TB SSD's.
@@leagueaddict8357 oh. thanks for the infos

Regarding that Hearing Aid comment, in the US the FDA actually just opened up Hearing Aids to the OTC market last week, so now if you have mild to moderate hearing loss you can buy a hearing aid from places like Best Buy for a couple hundred bucks.

Do the Arc challenge in the month of May. That's when a ton of studying for test happens at least where I am in the US of A. Do you think LTT will ever make a shoe. Did I spell that right? It's the thing you walk around in when you are afraid of legos or sand. I think a Wan show logo covered shoe would be something I would legitimately buy.

I didn't actually know linus had ADHD until this video, although I was pretty certain. I have ADHD myself and am a clinical psychologist, so I kind of spot these things. Good to hear it discussed - we still need more positive examples of people with ADHD succeeding to turn the idea of dismay around.
The reroll costs should have been a johnny Scottville tube of terror peanut. Then it would have been a real costs vs benefit decision. Plus an awesome 10+ minutes of content on the aftermath if you did.
