    Thank you! You saved me a ton of trouble just by resetting the breaker. I was only getting 120. It was tumbling but not heating.

    Thanks for the video a got a whole set of parts from Amazon to fix it for $14.99. I only needed the $4.99 cyclic thermostat at 1:11 in the video, but imagined the other parts might wear out.

    Good video however, you should have also shown how to do a continuity check on the heating element! That turned out to be the problem on mine. From age and use it opened up on one of the coils. Just a thought. Thanks for the post.

    For beginners....I Can't Tell Where you are Placing the Voltometer Prongs???

    • @muckrak3r
      @muckrak3r 4 роки тому +9

      For a continuity test like he's doing - set your voltmeter to the Ohms setting - then place one prong on one terminal lead, and place the other prong on the other terminal lead - MAKE SURE YOUR DRYER is unplugged. 240 volts can kill... anyways, this tests if there is an electrical connection between the leads. if no response on your voltmeter, that part is dead. you can test it on anything... like a screw, or the metal ring that holds your dryer hose in place... if electricity can pass through it, it will tell you. if it stays at zero or no response - that part is dead.
